Its legal here. I see a lot of guys who'll buy hookers off an online service pretty easily. Brothels and independent operators advertise in the newspapers.

What you're forgetting is two things:

Its not a real emotional connection or ego boost. Sure, dudes will pay for a nut, and some of them will get attached, but thats different from a woman who has actual desire for you.
Its expensive, the price fluctuates a bit year over year, but the going rate I was last quoted was in the 350 an hour range. You can find it for cheaper or more expensive but the raw reality of it is that spending time with a prostitute is often more than a lot of men make in a whole day, and a lot of them are now also on OnlyFans at the same time.

You see similar patterns elsewhere. Look at Japan. Horrible birth rate, lot of singles, but you have soaplands and hostess clubs and sex work everywhere.

You're acting like women are fair. If she doesn't want him having sex with hookers she will just create a rule that the open relationship doesn't include hooker-sex. You've already painted him as replaceable, so she can just get another patsy that will allow himself to be cucked. Either that, or just make his life miserable until he does what he's supposed to - happy wife happy life after all. She can just get her way by being a tyrant.

Where I live we have completely legal prostitution, and it makes no difference to gender dynamics. Having sex with a hooker isn't the same thing as having sex with a woman who wants to have sex with you, and in my opinion they're icky.

Considering how many negative reasons (and end results) for women entering into prostitution, any man who would even consider this for something so petty as spite doesn't even deserve companionship.

It would absolutely change things. Women won’t be able to offer a deal to men which is inferior to the market price for sex and companionship.

People will say, “it’s legal in some places already and it’s no different.” This is correct but misguided. The problem isn’t just legality but also accessibility, acceptability, and an improved experience. Online dating was considered obscure before swipe based apps, now it’s commonplace, I think the same thing would happen with a “hookr” app. Once it’s legal, it’s only a matter of time before the narrative shifts to it being acceptable and normal. Once this happens, all bets are off and women will definitely think twice about their behavior once a blowjob is cheaper than a dinner date.

People may also argue “but what about companionship? Women are good for more than just sex.” I agree, but companionship is for sale also. I’m not saying non-transactional dating will be obsolete, I think it will still be prominent. Legalization will just change a mans thought process from “either I accept what she’s offering or find a new one” to “either I accept what she’s offering, find a new one, or don’t bother and just pay for this.” Many scenarios where men will choose the last option. A breakup doesn’t sound as bad when you can drop a hundred for sex before she’s out the door.

Added benefit of prostitution would be elimination of the “he’s just taking me out the get in my pants” type scenario. Why spend more than she’s worth if you’re not really interested? Obvious benefits for both men and women.

Legal prostitution would disincentivize some men from improving themselves by giving them an "out" for sexual release that's preferable to porn. On the other hand it would also make the self-improvement journey feel less like delayed gratification and offer a release valve to motivate other men to continue the journey, much like a "cheat meal" for dieters. So it's hard to say what the overall effect would be without some sort of longitudinal study.

Either way Hookr is a very fitting name for an app.

I discourage prostitution because often the push is for legalization and not decriminalization. I’m also not into open relationships though so there’s that as well. If someone is in one though are they really meeting each other’s dates? I thought they only did that if they were all sleeping with each other. Like if the couple shares a boyfriend/girlfriend.

I don’t think I even have a definitive opinion on should it happen - I mean, I think it’s morally wrong to police hooking under consensual adult choices, but I also think it’s degenerate and it produces degeneracy to allow provisional sex, yet everything that simplifies easy sex, whether it be dating apps, porn, onlyfans, hookers, is degenerate. And I’ve partaken in it. All of it - save onlyfans - by any other name onlyfans smells just as shameful.
