People fundamentally don't understand the inherent abuse in this. Even if a boy likes it, it's still abuse. Children often only realize the negative impacts of their abuse years into their adult life. Some stay in denial.

It's so fucked up, because I think the ignorance is from the taboo of talking about it, so people refrain from asking and just imagine child abuse is only like some scene out of Se7en.

My problem with this is that teenage girls get horny same as teenage boys do. If fucking kids is a crime (which it is) then the gender of the perp should be irrelevant. The fact is news outlets use different language to elicit different emotional responses from the audience. This is NOT new.

Last century it was most noted that if a black man shot and killed someone the news would use the word murderer, however if a white man shot and killed someone they would use the word shooter. Do you notice the difference? It is subtle. Further, in the case of the black man, the news would find and publish ANY negative information about his past even if its irrelevant to the story and case at hand. In direct contrast, they would seek out and publish ANY information that shows that the white man was a generally good person. They would attribute the sudden outburst of violence as "mental illness" or "extenuating circumstances".

The exact same thing is happening here. If the perp is a male, the news would use words such as rape, abuse, and predator. If the perp is female, the news would use words such as relationship, and sexual misconduct. This is by design. By controlling the connotation of how the audience views a story they leave the door open for the other commentary to flow out naturally.

Since the man is a "rapist" or "abuser", you wouldn't even take the time to wonder if the female victim enjoyed having intercourse with the older male.

The older female had a "relationship" with the younger male. So perhaps the younger male actually enjoyed her "sexual misconduct".

One would think that a "patriarchy" hell bent on oppressing women and benefiting men would have the opposite double standard...
