Men aren’t going to be there for women in traditional ways and most feminists I know are losing their $hit over it.

Society fears men having balls so much lmao

[–]Amazing-Bit6140 39 points40 points41 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

No shit. Men stand up to abuse and exploitation, and protect others from the same. They clearly need men to become something else to continue, and are working overtime on that and have been for decades.

[–]amazinglyaloneracist 23 points24 points25 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Women have a strong in-group bias, men need to adopt the same philosophy to surrive

[–]Amazing-Bit6140 26 points27 points28 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

kinda hard when any and every group for men either gets infiltrated and changed to cater to women or demonized if they can't manage that.

Boy Scouts: You must accept girls. Now that you accept girls here is a laundry list of bullshit you all must do to protect/cater to girls since this is now a girls group.

MGTOW: "Well, our entire purpose is to not cater to women, watcha gonna do?" TERRORISTS!

[–]amazinglyaloneracist 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm aware, doesn't change the answer. Hate to say it, but we need to develop a stronger backbone.

[–]wildwolfcore 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only solution is to not play the game. The west won’t live much longer anyways

[–]ABeeBox 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You question gender and transpeople, and you get the "wow, you have a very disturbing obsession with genitals" from woke white women.

When woke white women question men it's "He has balls, so he must be a parasite of the earth, all men should be forced vasectomies from birth, man spreading is disgusting, I'm glad men have to deal with testicular/prostate cancer, men should have their dicks chopped off".

[–]One-Low8135 126 points127 points128 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Must be hard to be a feminist. Fabricating hate and false outrage everyday has to become tiring at some point.

[–]Antarkian 30 points31 points32 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I fuckin love this comment. 👍 😀 👍

[–]PoolPartyAtMyHouse 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't think it's fabrication, I think the people who gravitate to it are already hateful, it just gives them an outlet to express their hate. The KKK didn't make people racist, racists sought out the KKK, for an example of hate. Groups attract people because the people joining them like the ideology. Feminism basically lets hateful women freely express their hate, which is sad because it damaged the hell out of the quality feminists who stay on the actual point of women's rights. And the sad truth is, the hateful ones greatly outnumber the good ones.

[–]One-Low8135 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Great observation my friend! I agree

[–]PoolPartyAtMyHouse 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's like any other group, take MS Band. If a kid wants to join (not the parents making them) it's because they are interested in music already, so they join a group for that. Or a sports team, you don't just join a random ass sport, you join the ones you already like or prefer. Like if a kid plays basketball all day in their drive way, they join a basketball team because they already have what is desired. They do no play basketball all day then pass over basketball for badminton. Nearly all groupings of people are like this. Already made groups attract their followers, not make them (Jehovah's witnesses and Mormons have been knocking on doors for decades trying to literally make followers... doesn't happen).

People simply do not join something they do not already have a favorable opinion on, this IMO is why feminism is soooooo fucking dangerous. Telling women they deserve this and that, that the world is against them sounds pretty damn good because it indicates "we are trying to make everything benefit you", and who doesn't like to hear that kind of thing? It's close to the same concept of advertising to play the lotto or gamble, they are selling you an idea that sounds pretty damn sweet for you if it works out.

[–]CheetahOfDeath 49 points50 points51 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]Lalulale 59 points60 points61 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

MRAs believe that women are so unfaithful and untruthful that they often force men to raise other men’s children, thus financially ‘cuckolding’ them.

I guess she never visited our subreddit here. Or she is just promoting an agenda that fits her narrative.

The MGTOW are sorry excuses for men, but what they represent is a profound shift in the way men and women relate. We are increasingly afraid to work with each other, to flirt with each other, to love each other. We are becoming terrified of what, not so very long ago, was the most natural thing in the world.

We? I would have said men are afraid. But ok, some women might be afraid too with all the nonsense they hear about men.

[–]Blauwpetje 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This profound shift has started with feminism in the 80s and went on steroids in the 2010s. They always made any flirting behaviour look as dirty and evil as possible, and it was men who first wondered how this ‘most natural thing in the world’ could have become so demonised and risky for them. Talking about a chutzpah.

[–]Ok-Translator2294 37 points38 points39 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Date them and you become abusers, don't date them and you're terrorists, feminists seem to never settle

[–]delocalelectron 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Why don't they just come right out with what they actually WANT? Castrate 90% of us to act as their slaves, keep the Chads and Sebastians intact for breeding with the few feminists who aren't rug munchers or 'politically lesbian'.

[–]Amazing-Bit6140 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"kill all men" is just a euphemism for turning men into compliant slaves, accepting of their constant abuse and supplicating their wants and needs.

Seems like we need society to collapse for feminists to have some semblance of an idea of what men as a whole have been continually protecting them from.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, they want us around so they can have their "turn" to be the oppressors. :P

Otherwise, they could have been selectively aborting males enough to have made a dent similar to how China's one child policy and preference for sons has left a noticeable male/female imbalance there.

So, for equal time, are they going to put out a similar piece on

hardcore “Women’s liberation” women who want to live their life

without men?

[–][deleted] 37 points38 points39 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

But what you notice about all of them is that they never stop talking about women

This logic doesn't make any sense. How did she count the men that are not talking about women ?

[+]Obarak123 -42 points-41 points-40 points 3 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

You're strawmanning. She's saying most of their posts, articles are about women. I haven't even gotten a chance to check them out. I see no problem with wanting a platonic relationship with a woman. For some people, it might actually be healthier

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I have no clue what you're trying to say here.

[+]Obarak123 -15 points-14 points-13 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I cleaned up my English a bit. I'm saying you're using a strawman fallacy.
If I go to a site, scroll through their posts and MOST of them are about women, I can confidently say that the site is talking about women. It might not be accurate but it does not change the fact that most of the subject matter is women.

You saying she should count the number of posts not talking about men is silly.

I support single men with platonic female friendships. I think it can be healthy.

That's basically it

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You saying she should count the number of posts not talking about men is silly.

No, I'm saying she should count all the men that are not posting on mgtow forums at all.

[–]NarutoBoy87 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Congratulations... Seems you have learned a new word.. Strawman fallacy.. Good on you! 😂

[–]Obarak123 -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thank you 🙂. I learned about common logical fallacies people make on this channel: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=P3w6LTkRCZQ

[–]MaxTheCatigator 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That guy is a tool. The clip outtakes are taken completely out of context, as is so common nowadays.

[–]Desthr0 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would assert that your claim here supporting your argument about the commenter using a strawman is a false equivalency.

If I go to a site, scroll through their posts and MOST of them are about women,

Women make up about 51% of the population, so even if posts about the sexes were equally distributed by population (they are not, but that isn't important) MOST posts (ie: the majority) would still be "about" women. This is not an argument refuting your point entirely, but a point necessary to raise awareness of falling into the trap of false equivalence.

I can confidently say that the site is talking about women. It might not be accurate but it does not change the fact that most of the subject matter is women.

If you (self-admittedly) say that your conclusion is or may not be accurate, then there must be a problem with your assertion in some fashion.

What constitutes a post's subject matter being "about women?" Is a post about how a man has been unjustly accused by a woman a post about women? Is a post about women getting more access to support services for domestic violence than men a post about women? If it mentions women in any capacity, regardless of context, is that post automatically about women? Of course not.

Fundamentally, MGTOW, as an ideology or philosophy, is ultimately about the breakdown of the relationships between men, women, and the societies in which both sexes live. Since that is the case, AND that the primary participants in such a space will be male (ie: men), the burden of proof from the author to conclude that the site is about women and NOT about the ideological or philosophical underpinnings of MGTOW should be subatantive. However, the author uses other fallacious arguments "because it contains mention of women it must be about women" (non causa pro causa/correlation not causation), and things like "MGTOW sites have these kinds of posts, therefore my conclusion about MGTOW being all about women is correct" (begging the question.)

Your assertion is based on the same logical errors of the author, using a false equivalence to assert something without evidence.

EDIT: (If anything, the very fact that there ARE posts like the author described on those websites DEMONSTRATES the breakdown of relationships between men, women, and society.)

[–]mrstickman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I figure it's gotta be comparable to noticing that so many posts on /r/vegetarian are complaining about meat eaters. The only thing you have in common with the other people in the group is a conscious choice to avoid something common, and it's frustrating to be continuously misunderstood about it. You look to other abstainers for support.

[–]Drakethepirate 26 points27 points28 points 3 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Being single is not enough, we have to take over placing MRAs in power roles like Government and National media just like feminists did in the last decades and end the man-hating madness for good. If we don't the man-haters will outlaw the MRA movement as well because single men are already under attack.

[–]dw87190 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

"The future is egalitarian" sounds pretty good to me

[–]MaxTheCatigator 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The actual slogan "the future is female" sounds pretty sexist and misandrist to me.

[–]dw87190 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wanting to take over the world is also a characteristic of anti social personality disorder

[–]MaxTheCatigator 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not particularly into that distant-diagnosing stuff, that's too much crystal ball voodoo for me. I'm content with seeing it as an expression of the feminists' selfserving lies to further increase their advantages and benefits.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

They dont care if men walk away...they just want you to do it quietly so as not to embolden other men.

[–]Amazing-Bit6140 16 points17 points18 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

MGTOW's don't recruit.

We catch the men women spit out and help pick up the pieces.

Shocking how large the movement has gotten with only that MO

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm not mgtow per say but if it doesn't work out between me and my daughters mother I'm done altogether with dating.

[–]Amazing-Bit6140 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well then you may not be MGTOW in name, but you're sounding like it in practice.

That's all MGTOW's are saying, really, is not to make a woman/wife the measure of your life and to focus more on yourself.

It doesn't mean abandoning your kids, it doesn't mean not having sex, it doesn't even mean not dating or even getting married for some. It's only doing those things for yourself and not because someone else told you to or is trying to make you, not to seek validation from women and go after the things you think are important.

To some of us, having a family is part of that, but even for those they understand and protect themselves from the sexist bullshit that is marriage laws, divorce court, etc.

It's about taking control of your own life and not being an ATM for others to use. MTGOW husbands might expect their wives to work and provide their own income, for example, or in other cases pay rent. It does more to treat women equally then feminism ever has.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like your outlook and yeah that's pretty much me to. Tee man.

[–]skcuf2 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Leftists are so fucking crazy. This is as stupid as saying you're transphobic because you don't want to date women with cocks...

[–]jokerfriend6 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I have three boys that have viewed this with relatives and they want to date but they are terrified as well.. So yes, they limit interaction with women, and I can't really blame them.. If you talk to them, you are after one thing. If you ignore them, there is something wrong with you. I'm just glad my wife understand men's issues in society...

[–]NwbieGD 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So when women will stop having sex because abortions are illegal that's logical and reasonable because apparently all men agreed to ban abortions (when voters are about 50/50).

However when men are actually scared to be accused of harassing women and therefore avoid interaction and decide they prefer to be single and not date, it's a crime and hate ...
While especially with all the movements and how nowadays you can't know what's harassment and not, because no one is willing to draw a clear line ... Is it also going to be a problem if men are bi or gay as well now?

Sheesh who writes such hypocritical articles ...
No I should wonder what kind of crazy people actually read this stuff so it gets supported ....

[–]CALAMITYFOX 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We hate you and you need to date us or you're a terrorist

[–]Motorchampion 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love Tony Parsons and read this immediately after it came out and my first thought was “WTF was he thinking”.

[–]Sea2Chi 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wait.... do people actually pronounce it "mig-tau"?

"They tap into a genuine terror of men who have spent their formative years watching women through the distorting mirror of pornography, who have consumed far too much music where women are routinely referred to as “bitches” and who, crucially, see in Me Too not a brave new world where sexual bullies finally get the punishment they deserve, but a world where the woman is always believed."

I mean.... the phrase that was constantly repeated was "believe all women." So yeah, I can see how some risk-averse men might be like "Look, I have car insurance not because I drive dangerously, but because I can't always predict what other people are going to do. I keep my office door open for all one on one meetings for similar reasons.

It sucks, but I have friends who are teachers who go out of their way to make sure there is no opportunity for misunderstandings or assumptions about inappropriate conduct. It's unfortunate that an unfounded accusation could ruin their career, but the reality is small everyday steps like never closing the door when they're alone in the classroom with a student, or having one on one meetings in the hallway are the way things have to go now. Taking accusations seriously is a good thing, but the guilty-until-proven-innocent approach can cause people who tend to be risk-averse to take steps to limit the risk of accusations. Those steps aren't caused by music with foul language, or porn making them sex-crazed lunatics. It's caused by the fear that false accusations either through malice or misunderstanding could destroy their ability to earn a living.

[–]rainbow_bro_bot 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But what you notice about all of them is that they never stop talking about women.

Funny, just about any feminist forum (femaledatingstrategy particular) they seem to talk non-stop about men.

[–]Drofflies 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Undoubtedly one of the more stupid articles I have read. Women hate the idea that we can move on from the slavery of having to indulge them constantly.

[–]MEDVSIN 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Am I reading the word “manosphere” correctly? Is that another one of those made up words like Mansplaining? If so, that is laughable lol

Edit: honestly, I’m happy it’s bothering them this much. They pushed and pushed and pushed, and now they’re upset that we’re finally going our own way instead of trying to reason with them. Now they’re upset that we won’t give them attention. Fuck them.

[–]Amazing-Bit6140 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

manosphere wasn't coined by them, it's a term that arose internally inside the spaces where men congregate to refer to the collection of communities focused on talking to and benefiting men, specifically without the bullshit cultural narrative of feminism and patriarchy theory nonsense

[–]MEDVSIN 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh, so they’re just using that word like it’s a bad word in their articles, got it Lmao

[–]MaxTheCatigator 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup. It's like their using incel as a slur to disparage "those losers", ignoring the fact that the term literally says that their celibacy is involutary.

[–]RottenPeach6 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]vwatchrepair 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ahh yes, as with anything else the wokesters do, they're the proverbial school bully. They kick you off the playground, and then when you go make your own playground they come over and destroy that one too. And then have the audacity to say, "Look what you made me do."

[–]WeEatBabies 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Marry women, father children, get divorced and pay alimony and child support!

That, or, go straight to Guantanamo as a terrorist and be locked there without a lawyer for the rest of your life.

Such is the end goal of Feminism!

[–]StingRayFins 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Isn't it crazy that if men aren't "good enough" then they get no attention from women and they need to "do better" but when women are not desirable by men and men want nothing to do with them it's "terrorism" and shaming tactics?

Very childish and immature, proving why many men chose to be alone.

[–]MaximumYes 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One thing is certain: shaming and hating them is absolutely not going to have the intended result.

Good luck with that.

[–]GodofIB 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists hating as always 😅

[–]valhallalifts 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]bottleblank 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

the MGTOW subreddit def had sexism on it, lots of sex worker shaming. Which is weird because these women were doing what those men wanted which is to "go their own way" and it feels kinda hypocritical. But just like women can now choose to and have the ability to not engage in relationships, men should also be able to not engage in these relationships. I feel the criticism of the MGTOW movement isn't really that these men don't want to be in a relationship but that there is significant amount of sexism in that community (mainly because of the distain and contempt they hold pushing them into the MGTOW movement) The author does touch on that the current gender environment where men are afraid to be alone with women harms both which i fell is true.

IDK just kinda having a conversation with my self here. Anyone else feel what i feel.

sex worker shaming

Why is this a bad thing? People are just fine shaming the consumers of sex work, why not the producers as well?

This kind of deluded take is like blaming the drug addicts, instead of the drug dealers, for the drug problem. It's a massively disconnected from reality victim blaming take on the situation that tries to excuse the people who profit from the situation.

Well we shouldnt shame either . I do agree that there is a weird thing (i dont know if it is called a double standard) where sex workers are protected (rightfully) but consumers are seen as sloppy. Like people who pay for onlyfans or prostitutes are seen as desperate.

I dont understand this subs dislike for sex work. Can you explain it please.

our dislike is for double standards, and so long as men are demonized, shamed, or imprisoned for seeking/getting sexual gratification from sex workers, we will do the same to the sex workers. They deserve more shame and condemnation than their consumer, by far, and yet they are glorified as strong and empowered for it.

Again, the drug dealer is more responsible than their consumers, as they know what they are doing and the affect they have on addicts.

As it stands, many countries criminalize sex consumers, but not sex workers. The condemnation of sex workers is sorely needed, until society decides the men are as worthy of protection as the women.

Edit: We're also all about men respecting themselves and not simping, and sex work (particularly onlyfans) is based on simping. Nothing wrong with men getting escorts for their needs, lots wrong with men sending their life savings to a cam whore who brags about it on screen and then makes fun of him on twitter for it.

This is just revengeful and not constructive. We should be trying to break the notion of men being shamed for seeking gratification form sex work. Does shaming sex workers achieve that. I really don't think it does.

Maybe i am still not understanding your/mensrights position. Do you think that sex work should be illegal like drug use and drug dealing is?

If we wanted weed to be accepted in society, would we attack growers(sex workers)? Even if the users(men) were still seen as lazy bums(sloppy)? Or break the steryotype of weed users and point out the tax revenue opportunites for local govt.

Men sending £10 a month is not simping. I thinks it's just paying way to much for porn from one person.

Do you think that sex work should be illegal like drug use and drug dealing is?

I think that is up to the countries implementing their laws.

But whichever way they do decide to go, it had better be more oppressive to the dealers than the consumers, otherwise it's just blatant sexism.

Men sending £10 a month is not simping

It is when you get nothing in return. A bottle of bathwater, while weird, is still getting some type of value back. A default onlyfans subscription is simping by convenience and should not be encouraged.

There is some accuracy to at least some of what's said there. Yes, people use online fora (including r/mensrights) to say stupid things about women sometimes. We help ourselves by not doing that and I have tried to call it out where I can. At the same time, though, it's trivial to find people - almost exclusively women - waving "#yesallmen" banners. Like so many positions taken by hardline feminism, this is a term that is taken to mean more or less whatever's convenient the feminist concerned at that point in time, but it's hard to claim that it's anything other than bigotry given that it claims that absolutely all men share at least one characteristic, which is not true for any but the most trivial characteristics, and certainly not for all men's beliefs about women's safety and the issues surrounding it.

Like "black lives matter," "yes all men" is a slogan designed to create a political reaction, which it has and does, but it actually ends up doing a disservice to the very real issues it attempts to address. The issues may be real, inasmuch as either statement really expresses any concrete position. But the approach is utter political stupidity.

The sad fact is it works. The real problem here is not really what's being said, it's the hypocrisy and double standards. Society accepts the position of even the most unpleasant hardline feminists on this without question, whereas completely reasonable opposing positions are demonised for no better reason than that they're inconvenient to fashionable special-interest groups.

The even sadder fact is that the last four paragraphs of that article actually say something very real, very accurate, and very relevant, in that people who were historically not particularly engaged in gender politics have started to notice the problem. Yes, there are unpleasant hardliners operating under the banner of both MGTOW and feminism (not that the two are in any sense equivalent). We should have no tolerance for any of them as they do not help anyone.

But the fact that I'm here, as something of a moderate, makes the point: this stuff has become so nasty and so deeply divisive that it is beginning to affect wider society. As that article states, 27% of men, that is, more than a quarter and not much less than a third, are starting to be cautious about even being alone with women. This is complete obdurate madness and I have no idea how anyone thinks it's going to end well for men or women.

Listed as Politics. That article is awful. It's actually an op-ed piece.

[–]Detective_Stupid 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I read the whole article. They never list any stats. They never cite anything and only cherry pick what makes their argument look good.

The entire article is basically shaming the scarecrow they craft as MRA in the article.

Fun fact: The author seems to not actually know the definition of the words used in the title because they take away morality from supporters of this D+ essay. Who would be comfortable with a terrorist organization and if they are where is the line at if not at terrorism lmao?? Oh...right... not believing all women. Nevermind the title makes sense.

This is actually a sign that MGTOW will end up being effective and prevailing.

MGTOW isn’t misogynistic. Sure it has probably drawn in a few misogynists but the movement is mostly just men minding their business and they can’t even have that.
