If a man lies to a woman about something. He is a pig, dog, scum, low life, trash, loser, creep and the list of insults would be massive.

If a woman lies to a man about something. She did it because she felt pressured from him to lie.

Double standards have gotten so extreme now that a man is basically to blame for everything. Its disgusting and I personally don't bother any more with dating, relationships as it is worse than having a second full time job that you hate.

I was a man whore so ill never judge anyone for how many people they had sex with. But like so many others have said and shown with research, the more partners you have the less sex means to you. Now lets be honest. This isn't a gendered issue. Most good men and women don't want to be with someone who has danced the horizontal mambo with more people than they can remember. My feeling is it's about compatibility.

If one person has slept around a lot, and the other has only slept with people they're in a long-term committed relationship with, that could be a sign that they have different views on sex, its place in a relationship, and how it affects them personally.

There is nothing wrong with saying "It was great meeting you, but I think that I'd be more compatible with someone whose sexual history is more in line with my own." Nobody is being put down or shamed, it's simply a matter of not being a great match for each other in an area most people find to be important.

That goes both ways too. I'm not ashamed of my past and I've slept around quite a bit. When I was single, I had no issues separating sex and love. Sometimes sex is just good sweaty, sexy fun between two people who are attracted to each other. I would have been been a terrible match for someone who needed the security and connection of a relationship to enjoy sex because that's not what I was looking for. It doesn't mean they'd be wrong for wanting something different than me, it means we're wrong for each other. However, if they started insulting me, or using derogatory names, that would be wrong.

That's basically what it comes down to for me. It's ok to have preferences, it's not ok to criticize others when their preferences don't line up with yours.

Our feminist society encourages women to sleep around as empowerement. I have nothing against that, sleep around all you want. But they now know that men have preference for women with low body count. Obviously, feminists are pissed off because they are losing out to other women because of their own choices. It's a valid concern because data shows divorce rates and affairs go up with # of previous partners. Marriage is very risky business and it makes sense to reduce that risk as much as possible. If it's still too risky for your taste, simply passing entirely is a valid conclusion too.

The pile-on by femcels is legendary. But not called for. Here are some reasons why the guy did the right thing.

It was his first serious relationship, and he was considering making it a long-term marriage. There is a high likelihood that the relationship will fail, as it's his first and her ?? They are clearly not at the same place in their sexual/relationship journey and the mismatch may be destructive to their relationship unless there is strong trust, truthfullness and understanding.

She was dishonest, and lied to him. Have to ask what else she has lied about, or will lie about in the future. Plus, related to reason above, trust, truthfullness and understanding have not had a good start.

He needs to have some experience with other partners, or he will resent the difference in their sexual experience.

The list could easily be longer, but the femcel comments focus only on the feelings of the girl he was going to propose to. It's not about her body-count alone, but the impact of that difference between them, and her dishonesty.

Honestly, I have a preference about body count, namely, the higher the better. If I can have that preference, why can't other people have a preference? Seems hypocritical to deny it to other people.

Personally, I think the only way it's an issue is the reason behind it. For example if a man prefers a low body count because he himself has a low body count and wants to be on kind of equal footing with his partner, that's not a red flag for me. But if the man's desire for a low body count is rooted in some kind of like, really gross reasoning that I personally disagree with, that would be a problem. But the preference itself isn't a problem.

I think like just like any other preference, it can be very unhealthy or very healthy depending on the reasons. If a woman prefers to date men who are way older than her because she's an old soul and just find she identifies well with that generation, not a problem. If a woman dates considerably older men with the explicit intent of financially abusing them, that's a problem.

While he claims his decision is based on “body count” I think that’s rare. Most men don’t grill potential partners about the number of previous lovers they’ve had and decide to date or not date on this single issue.

It’s an overplayed issue overall. The bottom line is people should find someone compatible, not expect people to change their priorities. If a guy is incompatible for this or any other reason, then a woman should stop pursuing him and find someone who is compatible.

I think this is unique per the individual. I have many preferences in women. Both physical and psychological. But let's be real...WHO that person is, will ultimately determine your emotional feelings.

My view on body count is a bit convoluted.

Idc about body count of a woman, if the people she have slept with was just her ex boyfriends. Extremely high number of exes means there's something wrong due to which she can't keep long term relationships and that's a red flag but other than that IDC.

But if someone's body count was associated with just casual hook ups, thats a real red flag. More the times someone have sex for fun, more likely their brain have rewired itself into seeing sex as a means of adrenaline rush than a method of bonding.

But they’re just undateable. Long term relationships require skills to maintain and be successful. These skills take time to develop. If they’ve been just hoe-ing around, they’ve not developed any of these interpersonal relationship skills and by the time they’re 26+ but still behave like an entitled brat, they’re just insufferable, pent up all their frustrations (instead of having adult conversations) and unleash it in childish explosions.

I’m a woman. And I think this causes confusion for many people. While I know the science of why women shouldn’t have many partners, I get it, no intention of saying otherwise, the idea that men want to sleep around a lot and then want the opposite to settle down, just seems hypocritical. And the reasons I’ve been given also seem like excuses. “Women want an experienced partner”. Sure, to a small degree, but we would rather want a confident partner. You don’t need to sleep with 50 women to be experienced. Then there’s the idea that all women lie. It’s so frustrating because how do you prove you aren’t. And it assumes you know someone’s moral code, when you get angry (rightfully so) if women assume you are rapists. It’s the same logic and doing what you don’t like, to someone else, also seems hypocritical. Men and women are different and I have no problem with how men feel attraction or view sex. But surely you can see that shaming women over something you are doing with women, is bizarre. You can’t moan about how many people take drugs if you are selling drugs. How many posts have we seen from fat feminists demanding their man not be fat? I know I roll my eyes at things like that. This is exactly the same. So I’m in no way condemning your sexual urges. It’s simply having your intentions match your wants. I think we could go a long way to fixing things if we all stopped demanding behaviour from the opposite sex, and lived by the thing taught in school, treat others how you want to be treated.
