If your the kind of person that views basic socialising as “investment” and expecting a return you shouldn’t bother trying. If your convinced a relationship is always going to be a waste of time on your part or a fail or you believe it’s going to somehow cost you more financially than the other person (before you’ve even been in a relationship) then you shouldn’t be anywhere near a relationship

Start small, apply some strategies and at some point it will become second nature. This is part of being a man. You're the one who chases. It's funny as long as you don't fall for shit like spending too much money or putting her above everything else. It's funny... but only if your life doesn't revolve around girls.

It's simply better to work on yourself until you achieve your dream job or whatever you want and makes you happy than to spend any time on that venture.

This doesn't work like that. Once you're willing to spend time on that venture, you'll have a lack of skills. Skill is the most important quality in this game. Adds up to the fact that your life should NEVER revolve around girls: if you do it casually, while dedicating effort to all the other activities, you're not wasting time on it. It's just something you do.

In what weird reality is flirting with girls something you consider "work" or a burden? Men flirt with girls just for the flirting, because it's fun, it's a game, it's playing with what could be, it's enjoyable just for testing out boundaries and feeling good for being basically told "i would fuck you".

Typically men feel good about being the one initiating things. It puts you in control, it shows your assertiveness. Basically, you feel good because you do things you see as being manly/masculine. I couldn't care less about cars as a guy, but the 2 times a year i change the tires on my care by myself, i feel fucking amazing for doing this stereotypical manly thing. Doing the stereotypically "male part" in dating is the same. For the money part, that's really up to you how traditional you want your roles to be. I don't date women who don't go 50/50, not on every instance, but overall, taking turns mostly.

Also, you are not only getting good things for doing your part in the dating game by how you reward yourself, but also by how the woman reacts to you. If you are not simping for an unachievable woman, but rather date within your league and you regard her as much as a catch as she is regarding you as a catch, then she will be putting in a lot of effort to court you and make you feel amazing as a man.

"too little of a return" is really comical, when most people regard the return as among the greatest things in life. Sex with a partner who is in love with you and with whom you are deeply bonded and a romantic relationship are priceless. Having it often makes the difference between a happy and deeply fulfilled life, versus a miserable, lonely and depressed life.

And for what? For a failed relationship because whatever?

Even failed relationships can be worth it until they fail. Unless you are trauma-ridden and not emotional resilient, the end of a relationship doesn't weigh heavier than what you got from it while it was good. I'd rather have 20 relationships of 2 years in my life, than none at all. Also, if the relationship fails is mostly in your hands. Select the right partner and be the right partner, then there is nothing in the way of having a lifelong relationship. Both skills are only learned by having relationships.

Just go to the gym regularly and work on your attractiveness, don't spend too much effort on chasing chicks but once and awhile you can try. It won't cost much. You are right that women are high cost and low return but you can still make small efforts towards them and if you build a nice body it will be better
