This phrase is the biggest red flag in the English language from my point of view. When said by a man I find it downright enraging. What it really means to the NVM:

1.) Get ready for him to have a temper tantrum like a toddler over minor issues and gaslight you into believing it's "because he's sensitive"

2.) He thinks this gives him an out on any shitty behavior (e.g. "I just love you so much I got mad. Sorry I screamed at you and called you a bitch")

3.) Better put your mommy-therapist hat on 24x7. This NVM will need special care and coddling to do the bare minimum to survive. Don't forget to tiptoe on eggshells to not upset him

4.) He wasn't having an emotional affair! He just feels a strong connection to women because he's such an empath. How dare you police his friendships!

5.) He thinks he's proving his "love" by making himself "vulnerable" to you. You know, by fake crying all over the place to defraud you

6.) He may be using this to excuse his rapid cycling bipolar disorder or other rampantly untreated psych issues. I find this one particularly troubling. Mania is not an emotion. He's also almost certainly a narc

7.) They always trash their ex. Without fail. "She didn't understand me. She's not like you" (i.e. "You're different than those other trash women. You're my soulmate"). Sure 🙄

8.) Emotions provide an infinite excuse, he thinks, to act like a fucking toolbag or just abusively and inappropriately. He probably will call himself a male feminist at some point

Etc.

These men need to be put out with the trash. They are more insidious and abusive than your average man. These men won't even pretend to change because they have a baked in excuse wrapped up in what, they think, is an attractive package.

That and every PickMe on the planet is ready to give this "sensitive man" a shoulder to cry on ("He needs me! I'm the only one who understands him") 🤢

Sidenote, I'd appreciate it if NVM male stalkers stopped getting me temporary bans for "hate." Get a life.
