One issue I've seen is there seems to be no clearly defined demarcation between the waves.

As an American, I define them as such:

1919 and prior. Dealt with right to own property and vote. Ended with the passage of the 19th amendment.
1919 through early 1980's. Dealt with ownership of self. Birth control, abortion, privacy, right to associate, and many other civil rights recognized. Closed with Casey v Planned Parenthood.
Early 80's through Present. The women first movement. Here women have progressed past 'we're as good as men, and deserve equal opportunities and treatment' to 'we must punish men by denying to them an equal chance to obtain top positions in business and government'. While first and second waves ultimately benefited both men and women, third wave was a major regression, bringing serious threat to advancements in civil rights.
2000 through present. The LGBT / TERF split. I'm hesitant to call this 4th wave, as I believe the feminist movement is splitting into two factions: one that believes that only genetically pure women should be included in the feminist movement, and it's antithesis, that believes only transgendered persons should be included. In the long run either faction has self defeating goals, so I'm not worried about them succeeding. The short term damage, however, is already substantial.

I'm a strong believer that just an we men have legitimate grievances, so do feminists. What hurts both sides is extremists on both sides that make so much noise, and attract so much attention that advancement in either camp has stagnated.

Again, these are my personal thoughts and observations, based on US history. Other people and places may differ.

I don't really know anything about the "equalist" movement so I cant say but just because we aren't equal doesnt mean we can strive to be as equal as possible

I don't understand why some in this sub want equality for everyone beyond laws, like promoting women to be Navy seals. It's buying into feminists destructive goal. Equality by law, yeah. But differences really do exist.

Why does men's rights have to be this crappy counter culture movement. The movement could actually do something positive and try and address issues that men can face such as unfair family court systems, deadly work environments, prison rape and domestic abuse.

I honestly try to be charitable but the MR movement just seems to be a way to "virtue signal" and just shit on feminists. A more productive use of your time would be rallying behind these issues instead of attacking a group of people who are quite frankly on your side here.

I'm sure this might not be well received on this sub but it's just my 2 cents.
