I Thought ya'll might get a kick out of this. Quick background, I was married for 7 months when wife filed for divorce. I owned everything out right when we got married (house, both cars, land, etc) STBX quit her teaching job shortly after we got married, so she has no salary plus I am constantly having to work on or pay mechanics to keep her car (200000+ miles) running. She drug out a SIMPLE divorce (that she filed for) four months, to the point that she pissed off HER attorney. I just called my attorney to set a court date because I am tired of STBX dragging her feet. My attorney said STBX signed yesterday at 4:50, literally 10 minutes before the deadline. She was arguing over the equity statement, complaining that the money I agreed to give her to move out (equal to 1/2 your year teacher salary) was not equitable considering my assets, and investments. Her attorney had to explain that she is not entitled to anything I owned before the marriage (remember we were only married 7 mo.). Her attorney convinced her to sign, by holding my payment to her until she signed the final decree.

I didn't go into this blindly, I looked for red flags and checked her out (we had known each other for 12 years before dating) to make sure there was no evidence of infidelity and/or gold digging. Just goes to show you, you do not divorce the same woman you marry.
