My wife treats veterans with PTSD and addiction issues, she talks about how unfairly they are treated by courts, how the VA should do better, she is very aware and empathic towards men's issues. But when her friends and therapist collogues put men down she does not say a word. I asked and she said at the first word a women says defending men that women is dropped like a rock from the group.

Because they'll be coined as being misogynistic and quieted. I know a few women IRL who don't agree entirely with the feminist ideology. If those women were to talk about this on the internet, they would be banned or just assumed to be an "incel man" pretending to be a woman. Feminist "safe spaces" are just echo chambers where any disagreement with them results in an instant ban for "dangerous" behaviour.

Let's be fair here. It takes a lot of courage and will in order to speak out against the overwhelmingly popular narrative. I, as a man, have trouble speaking out in other spaces comfortably without feeling like I'm going to be hated. I have so much motive to speak out regardless. You really can't expect those women to speak out in places where they'll get hated every time. It's good that they at least let us know that there are some more people out there who are willing to hear us out.

The differences are Biological. XY and Testosterone is NOT the same as XX and Estrogen. One gender has to be "more" in every situation.

Women are hard wired to be self centered and in-group biased. Safety for her and her offspring lays within the "herd".

Men are hard wired to be outward looking and only biased towards results. We have to "watch out" for dangers and regardless of our feelings we must work together for the common good.

There is no female equivalent for "Suck it up princess and get on with it".

Oh and just so there is no confusion...

I don't agree with criticizing those women for wanting to show their support, even if it is not backed by tangible action. Doing proper activism is work, and not everyone has the time or inclination to do that work all the time. I think pretty much anyone here knows there is more they *could* be doing to address mens' issues, but nobody is obligated to become an activist. I welcome anyone who shows the slightest amount of genuine concern, since that is more than what you'll get from most people.

Also I think differences in socialization make it so that often, women see verbal/emotional shows of support as being meaningful in themselves to a degree that men usually don't.

If it's a women I don't mind her coming in to show empathy although it would be nice for them to show an example of them taking action for men in their lives against other women (not necessarily activism). and before any women tries accusing me of being a hypocrite, I did buy my niece a knife and taught her how to use it/defend against knifes.

Although most people on this sub are men, women are welcome here too. I’d jump at the chance to talk to someone like Karen Straughan. Idk if you’re referring to other male spaces though.

But a woman who cares about men is more likely to be respected by men than women. MANY women who advocate for fair treatment of men get treated terribly by other women, ESPECIALLY feminists.

The women I personally know have told me they’ve been laughed at, bullied, called “pick-me girls” and much worse. Online, feminist spaces are very quick to ban anyone (including other women) that advocates for men’s issues, especially if it includes calling out the sexism of feminism.

I think it has less to do with the individual woman being two-faced. And more about women’s circles just being misandrist and forcing other women to go along with the hive-mind.

Why can't you just take support when it comes your way? Men in this sub, including me, have been complaining about not getting attention to our very valid issues, when women who would be bullied elsewhere come here and acknowledge those issues, posts like these arise. I am grateful for what little women support us and will always be glad to see em here.

Again, they can't be seen in other subs raising issues of men, because they would be bullied and called a traitor to the feminist cause or whatever.

I've seen quite a few posts on here that start with 'I'm a woman and I sympathize with men's issues'.

Some of them come across as genuine people, showing care about our issues.

Some of them come across as feminist concern trolls trying to control what gets talked about.

A lot of them are in-between: feminists trying to be genuinely empathetic but being so stuck in the feminist mindset that they fail at properly caring about men as men; and do the 'men are just broken women' thing that I've seen all too many feminists do. (I've seen quite a few posts on this sub, none recent, that say "I'm a feminist, and I care about men. I think men should be allowed to cry." It's amazing how often that's the one thing they say.)

If a woman comes here to genuinely empathize with and care about men, I don't think we should scare her off - even if she gets it wrong.

To be a woman who stands up against misandry in man hating spaces would be incredibly head turning. To those who do it, they are garnering all of the attention from their active support.

Yes, they will be attacked, mobbed, banned... The guys know it, the sympathizers know it. It's the women who break through that barrier and show their sympathy through action... they deserve the outstanding praise.

If men can defend women from misogynists, then women and defend men from misandrists. That is equality.

Personally, it is a waste of time. I will make a more positive change on a small scale by modeling good female behavior to my male friends, than I can ever do by trying to convince/beg/brainwash women as a Group to do better.

We talk about men's issues quite frequently in feminist subs, but it's often mingled in with everything else and probably hard to distinguish from a glance. I think what matters most is what we do and the language we use when we're not on the internet. Politely pointing out anti-male comments people have made has given me the chance to explain that something called "men's rights" even exists, and I've always had positive results. One of the reasons that radical feminism appealed to me was because I thought of it as containing a loophole that allows me to include men in my advocacy. I rarely participate in men's rights subs, however, because i am rarely well received. So i just try to do my part in the real world.

Cultures do not change overnight, it takes baby steps. It starts simply, with questioning. Then reasoning. Then convincing. Women who sympathize with men's issues shouldn't be attacked for not harpooning themselves in feminist spheres. It takes a dialogue, and vast amount of time.

Like others have said, the women are down voted as equally as the men, called "pick-me" girls, and hurled insults. I would argue it is more difficult for the women to make an argument for men as they are dismissed as patriarchal, trad-cons in a sea of overwhelming feminism.
