The battle for our boys’ minds did not arrive upon the backs of Bugattis, or in a puff of cigar smoke.

No. We did not need to wait for the bombastic squarks of the world’s favourite ‘Alpha Male’, for our boys’ minds to be toyed with, and their heads turned.

We’re long past that.

The fingers have pointed at, and probed in the brains of boys; told who they are, and what they are destined to become, for decades now.

Boys will become one thing: ‘Men.’

Men. A word not spoken, but spat. A word often suffixed by ‘toxic’, ‘entitled’, ‘violent, ‘dog’, or ‘trash’. The word so many love to hate.

Ut’s hardly something to look forward to, or aspire to become.

As for so many boys there are no positive male role models at all. Too many fatherless homes, and too few men in classrooms.

There’s little to turn to on TV either, and whatever you do, do not turn on the news, or scroll through social media.

Men are bad. And over the years, slowly, we’ve learnt to associate everything bad; all bad behaviours, traits, problems, or outcomes, with men too.

Even absurd things that have nothing to do with men at all… are now their fault.Does it piss you off how people don’t recycle? Men.

What about climate change? It was men.

Too few pockets in your dress? Guess what, men took them.

What about Brexit? Yeah, that was men too.

Don’t ask questions, just think of something bad, now think of men. Do it again, and again, and again.

This is how brainwashing works, it starts young, lasts a life time, and happens even without the help of Mr Tate.

So is it time we all just stopped telling boys who they are, or what they’ll become?

Is it too late to stop the twisted charities marching into our schools to ‘educate’ our boys, so they can perform the apologia of their gender too?

Is it time we all stop projecting our own fragility, and ignorance onto innocent children, who are too young, and don’t deserve to be recruited by propagandists into a gender war?

How do we let boys, really be boys?

Personally I think this whole presentation would be better if it was focused a little more on the various ways in which the term 'toxic masculinity' is thrown around, compare it to how 'female hysteria' was bandied about in the late 1800's. Sure it's a little played out in these spaces but I think it's much more likely to catch the attention of some normie than an emotional appeal to how badly we're making men feel about themselves.

Like, shitty as it is to say, if appealing to the well-being of boys and men was a compelling argument to the average person, why would you have to argue it so much?

All of this negativity towards Men is manufactured by the theory of Patriarchal Oppression AKA "Bailey Patriarchy". Feminism justifies its contempt for Men as an "understandable reaction of women towards the oppressive structures that MEN have built". Its almost like if you don't apologize for being male, you're a person non-grata in any liberal space. The black&white mythology of collective Male Tyranny on the Female Collective has become a part of the model of reality in which modern liberals operate in.

What are we really teaching our boys

We're teaching them that the Future is Female and Masculinity is Toxic. Apologists are quick to say "But we're only talking about the Toxic parts of Masculinity" Yes, and that's the problem! If its the ONLY type of masculinity that's talked about in the media&schools 24/7, why would anyone even think Masculinity is something good?

I fucking hate the term "toxic masculinity", it's right up there with people who push the patriarchy conspiracy theory. Telling boys, either explicitly or implicitly that they are essentially evil, or faulty, in their very nature is deeply disturbing.

The education system being dominated by teachers who believe this drivel really doesn't help matters.

I'm thinking back to the 90s when we had "gang violence", "inner city", "superpredators", and others as widely recognized terms that were frequently associated with young impoverished men who were mostly black.

To be fair, "toxic masculinity" used to mean a specific form of masculinity that was, good guess, deleterious to the individual and those around them such as superlative machismo and other aggressive or selfish behavior. However, just like with "mansplaning," semantic shift per genericide supplanted that definition, as nuance is hard for those playing king of the hill on a bell curve.

Adding a work like Toxic doesn't mean the latter word is therefore always related. We have "unfair outcomes" doesn't mean all outcomes are unfair. There are traits that men have been able to do, that are called or seen as masculine, which are generally bad, and those problems are often then seen in larger stats in society.

For example, 80% or something of all stranger assaults are done by men. Men are 70% of the victims, making men the primary victim and primary commiting of the offense.

But fighting, being tough, being able to beat up people, being able to defend people, is seen as a masculine trait, and it ends up leading to more confrontations and more assaults. Rather than push for mediation and talking it out, which is not seen as masculine.

Do you think more men or more women fantasize about using a gun to stop a bad guy? Is the idea of fantasizing about killing people a good or bad trait to have?

We don’t think that it’s all the raping and sexual assault and molestation and violence and coercion and aggression? Cuz I sure as fuck do. I’m sympathetic to the difficulty men face and the harms caused by stigma, but it wasn’t society or women who hurt my daughter and raped my sister and molested my mother and my aunts. I don’t know a woman who hasn’t been assaulted. The Duggar documentary came out this week. Are we gonna blame society for what those men did? Are the girls born into that psycho creepy rapist faith/family to blame? Men, is it possible that the man is bad reputation is well earned?
