If anything I've only seen the opposite working fortune 500 companies finance departments. Some companies it was 75% women in finance dept, they earned more than men, they received more promotions, and they were less qualified education and experience wise.

There is no gender pay gap, men typically make more money than women because they do harder jobs that pay more and work longer hours. Complaining about it is actually quite ridiculous since practically all women want to date men that make more money than them.

The real gap is an "Earnings" gap but saying that would raise the question "why can't women earn more" and every single answer to that question would point the finger directly at women and destroy the "victim hood mentality" that the FF have created. With no victims there is no feminism.

The gender pay gap exists because of a wide variety of factors, and there has been oodles of writing over the past twenty years about it. It's not because women are paid less. The only thing I have witnessed is actually the opposite, as women my age were actually getting paid more for entry level jobs. HR wants to increase the number of women employed, and they're willing to pay for it.

If you want an easy ride, ladies, work in software.

It's clear that the difference in total earnings between men and women are due to personal choices and effort. The reality is that most companies already prefer to hire women, not because they can pay them less but because they are more marketable and desirable. Women also have an easier time in a lot of jobs, because they are women. This is often most visible in sales/service, but it's generally true all around, even in "male dominated fields" such as STEM fields.

There's also plenty of unreported sexism in women's favor, like this bias that being a woman makes an employee valuable/competent and less "problematic" than men, which is often not called out because the mainstream narrative is so caught up with this idea of discrimination against women. Women are certainly also given plenty of preferential treatment and opportunities, because they are women, at every level of a professional career. They are also given more flexibility with their hours than what is allotted to men. It's also been demonstrated that for the same level of education/experience/hours, women generally make more than men.

What's even worse though, is that there is also a very apparent disregard and lack of care for the "expense gap" between men and women too. The reality of it is that, even men did in fact make 30% more than women for working the same jobs, men would still be no better off for it because the expectations of provision culturally placed on men are still considerably costlier than that.

Men are judged by their incomes and the resources/services they can acquire for women. Men are also generally expected to take on the brunt of most expenses, to financially support women no matter how financially irresponsible they are, and to come into the relationship with already pre-acquired sufficient assets.

Women are also far more likely to be given free services/lodging for being women, or discounted services/lodging for being women. Most women looking for roommates/tenants would prefer women and most men looking for roommates/tenants would prefer women as well. Shelters, charities and food drives for women, and only women, are everywhere and antagonistic of any sort of support for men.

Even if every man was making a flat 30% more than women, for the same job, men would still be in a worse position than women, as a whole, because we live in a culture that sees men as disposable and in the service of women. Men just don't have the power or cultural position to just wait at the finish line and pick the winners. It is also well established that married women generally end up controlling the majority of the house-hold spending as well, and this is still as true today as it was during first wave feminism. We live in a culture that favors and is built for women.

Theres no such thing theres simply equality of outcome, in other words they are so entitled they think they should get paid the same as say an engineer when they are like, social workers or some other shit job that requires no skill they want equality of outcome.

It is actually the opposite, Men are underpaid for their experience and work hours worked. Case in Point, Google did a Pay Gap study internally and found a bunch of Male engineers were underpaid, and have to give raises to thousands of Men in 2019.

Never take any number you hear from feminists at face value. Check what is actually being measured, check if it is correctly represented (sometimes they give correct numbers, but the graph they show is misleading), and check what other things they might have deliberately forgotten to consider.

A hundred answer. No disparity. And even then, you had women saying they were paid the same as their male counterpart jumping on the poor dude asking, accusing him of being a misogynist for doubting the wage gap...

I recently learned about this too! Weird, yeah couldn’t agree more. It’s deliberately misleading. I just tell everyone about it. When a woman says “women make 82 cents to the dollar,” I simply say that isn’t true, they get upset google it and show me, then I show them the controlled/uncontrolled pay gap and they get disgruntled and say they’ll have to look into that more. Then I never hear from them about it again and I couldn’t be happier for that.

less women in senior positions

Yeah, that's the one that gets touted as still being evidence of some massive conspiracy--women are supposedly being denied promotions, and/or are being coerced into working different jobs than men. I think there must be a better way to measure for that than looking at averaged salaries, though. Surely there'd be evidence of women leaving jobs at companies that denied them promotions, and going to companies that will level them appropriately; unless literally every company is in on it.

My hunch is that a lot of the "lack of women in senior positions" metric is largely driven by women disproportionately choosing to focus on at-home child raising responsibilities and letting their careers take a hit. That leads to more women leaving the workforce at junior positions, and/or more women taking a break, then returning to work at the same level they left off, so being behind their similarly-aged peers.

Again, I don't see that as evidence of some big conspiracy. There's soft social pressures that move women towards that role; but if a man and woman choose to have the dad be a full-time parent while the mom is the main bread winner, that's a fine way to raise a family. That just doesn't happen as frequently as the other way around.

You want to hear gender pay gap. I work at a COUNTER SERVICE restaurant with an open kitchen. I’m a highly experienced cook with certifications. And my 2nd job im a sous chef. Well the counter person is a 15 year old girl and my employer wants to give her all the back tips they just realized legally they have to pay and pay her all tips moving forward. Because I make $1 more than her……..I also do her job when she isn’t there but that doesn’t matter apparently because I’m not a counter girl.

There is no pay gap, but there is a earnings gap, which is something entirely different. The earnings gap is because men are more likely to put in extra time(more likely to work OT), take the higher risk jobs that come with hazard pay, more likely to attain bonuses, generally more hours.

I realized this over two decades ago, while working in payroll during Uni. Men and women were hired at the same, or similar, amounts for entry level jobs. By similar, it was because of negotiating and wasn't gender specific.

Anything beyond entry-level jobs are going to be subject to differences due to job opportunities they've taken to help their resume/CV and negotiating a better salary.

Anecdotally, having climbed the ranks and having managed hundreds of employees, men work harder and will work later. So when it comes time for raises and you are limited to only 1 or 2 exceptional raises, men tend to get them. That being said, I've had amazing women managers & employees, just talking over all that women tend to do the 8-5 and apply the least amount of effort.

Irionically, just saw a post in /Germany where a woman was soon going out on maternity leave, which is 12+ months here, didn't know when she would return. Her boss wanted to promote her, but he would have to promote someone else. Her post was whining that it was unfair that she couldn't get promoted & go out on maternity for 1+ years. (In short, she was really asking if she could sue for discrimination.)

It's funny as a manager who has to approve time sheets. Not once has a woman cracked the top half of hours worked. Not even the ones with no kids at home. The one who refuses to work any overtime and always has the least hours on the team is also the one who says she needs a raise cause she can't pay her bills on time. She has no kids at home either. She is also right in the middle of the pack on our pay scale.

Men make more money because they work longer hours. Women make less money because they’re often burdened with more home and childcare duties.

So as long as men are putting in equal effort with home and childcare duties, women can’t complain about the wage gap.

Maybe not a paygap specifically but my wife got fired shortly after our first anniversary. She made it no secret we were going to try for a kid this year.

She was good at her job, got many kudos from coworkers, worked a ton of unpaid OT and late hours doing tech support.

Sure, correlation is not causation and all that, but it did seem suspicious.

I think it has more to do with how society values certain professions (good or bad) and also the gender makeup of that particular profession. For example Teachers (more female dominated professions) have historically been underpaid. If 80% of Teachers are women and 20% of accountants are women, then women on average will make less.

No. The "Gender Pay Gap" does not and cannot exist, at least systematically.
By definition and mechanism of action, it's really hard to prove what does constitute discrimination by gender. Even if your boss is a misogynistic pig and is paying you less entirely based upon gender, try proving it.

If 2 people who went to the same schools, got the same grades, studied and passed the same qualification at the same university, applied and got accepted to the same company for the same job, signed the same contract, worked the same hours and days, they should theoretically get the same pay. But, change one of those variables and their pay could also change. The thing is: there are way more variables than that to account for. It is not a simple thing.

The "Systematic Gender Pay Gap" does not and cannot exist. It's impossible.
