I am still dealing with it. What I don't understand is that my ex has been "baptized in the truth" and claims to be a witness and pushes it on my kids and has been since birth. But at the same time, she blows some random dude, starts an only fans, gets shit faced, crashes her car, gets a DUI, and still bitches about Christmas songs my kids listen to. They tried to get me for a long time, and I just never bought in to the bull shit, and now that I am free, my children have had birthday parties, Christmas, Halloween and it is awesome. She was eventually disfellowshipped but is still pushing it on my kids, which is what I don't understand. Also, any religion that has predicted the end of the world 4 fucking times and obviously got it wrong should cease to exist. Not to mention the hundred other reasons

All religion is a cult sooooooo. I used to tend to bar, and one of my regulars came in and was really upset, told me that his wife had turned at Jehovah’s Witness in the middle of the marriage, and now they can’t have any type of holidays or birthdays, or anything of that nature, it came out of nowhere, which means the kids had to cut it out of the lives as well, inevitably he divorced her and moved on with his kids.

My ex join the cult that is modern progressivism/leftism. She went off the deep end when Trump was elected. She started saying that white men are the cause of all of the worlds problems and only white people can be racist. When I didn't jump on the Trump-hating bandwagon (when she would repeat Democrat lies about Trump and I wouldn't agree) she called me a member of the alt-right even though I've literally never voted for a Republican in my life.

My wife is a member of JW and I’m a catholic(not really active to church)

She told me she wants to stay in this religion before we get married, i agreed. I just didn’t realized that this will be one of our problems yrs later.

We have one kid i baptized him as catholic he will never go to that ridiculous clown cult, over my dead body!

My wife became a JW 2 years after we married, made it another 35 before the inevitable. She became erratic, drained the joint accounts to protect herself from me running off with the widow across the street. I never realized how stressful the whole situation was until it was over

My wife's brother's marriage was ok for a few years. And then she joined the Jehovah's witness.

I'm sorry, but JW people are the densest people on the face of the planet.

He tried telling her 100's of times, "I don't want to join your church. I want to celebrate holidays." Her? She would just say, "He will come around to our faith."

It all blew up when he told her he didn't want to go to a JW convention. She just kept pushing and pushing. And after that? He couldn't handle it anymore and he divorced her.

One year post divorce? She left the church.

Well, sort of … My wife used to smoke a fair amount of weed when we were younger. To help quit, she joined NA. I’m not criticising the entire organisation as I’m sure they’ve helped a lot of people, but the local branches that my wife attended were/are run by a horrendous bunch of parasitic, narcissistic individuals who put so much strain on our marriage with their constant demands and ‘responsibilities’ that it became unbearable.

Sponsors and sponsees calling at all hours day and night (once or twice I was woken up at 3am by phone calls from attention seeking assholes who ‘needed to talk’), date nights hijacked by ‘emergency meetings’, more and more of her time being taken up running errands for a disorganised bunch of asshats … it massively invaded our personal life and trespassed all over our relationship.

Of the group of people that were part of her group, everyone relapsed into drug addiction again, four of them have died in the last year of drugs overdoses, and the woman that my wife spent months trying to help has just been charged with murder (it was a big story in my local area where dismembered body parts were discovered all along the seafront).

Yes, I’m sympathetic with drug addicts and understand that they need help. But when that group of horrendous assholes appeared in my life and monopolised my wife’s time, exploited her charitable nature to have her run errands for them (to the point that she was having to drive people around when she was ill with pleurisy), and constantly pushed her to break up with me (because ‘self improvement is a journey best undertaken alone’) despite having never met me, my patience ran thin.

Interestingly, when my wife caught Covid (which, due to her underlying lung conditions was significantly serious and required her to be hospitalised), not one fucking person from that group even contacted her to see how she was. Why? Because, while she was unwell, she wasn’t of any use to them.

Like I say, I’m not condemning the entire organisation - I’m positive that they have helped people - but the local cunts that she found herself with were a brainwashing, exploitative, narcissistic bunch of shitheads with a ‘misery loves company’ attitude that significantly and negatively impacted my wife’s wellbeing and mental health, and eroded our relationship to the point that it became untenable.

I asked her to set boundaries.

They told her, ‘It didn’t work like that’.
