The biggest problem in this thread is that no one seems to remember two key facts. 1) different stands out, and 2) anti slut defense. Any European that comes to the US will find girls easier because they have a unique accent and stand out. Natural peacocking. Secondly, if someone is visiting on vacation, the local girls feel safer hooking up because she will never see him again and there is no risk of it spreading around her social circle/community. Likewise, for the Europeans whose only experience is American girls in Europe on vacation... Wow just totally different ball game. The same goes in reverse for American guys who have experience gaming Europe on vacation. You are different, which stands out and is attractive, and the girls don't need to worry about you spreading rumors around town.

Sweden here. Difficult to say if it's more difficult here than in other countries, but I do think day game is a BIG NO-NO here. Going up and talking to someone in the middle of the day is reserved for crazy people.

I believe the differences probably lies in different stages of game. Opening a Swedish girl is probably more difficult than opening an American one, going from opener to hookup is probably more difficult in the U.S than here though.

The problem with this is that unless someones has opened hundreds or thousands of girls from the two places you're looking at this is going to be rather anecdotal and overly broad generalisations will be made.

As an American living in Germany I can tell you that you can talk to just about any woman in Germany just based on your American accent. It won't get you in her pants but it will buy you three minutes of time to chat her up.

Also a lot of girls just like the opportunity to practice English and will happily talk to you as long as you want, or longer. You can hit on them or just leverage their friendship to meet other girls. Hang around the bars near the universities, especially late night/early morning Thursday to Saturday.

Avoid politics and if it comes up lean left and avoid callousness and generalizations. Also be careful about repeating typical American prejudices about Europe and the rest of the world. And don't sweat their annoying prejudices about Americans ;-)

When I went to Europe, I didn't notice much of a difference. Being funny and confident is pretty universal. The fact that I was foreign was just icing on the cake.

I've always imagined it'd be easier for me in the US, since I've heard Scottish accents go down well.

I don't speak for all of the UK or Europe but up here in Scotland day game is almost non-existent, and I struggle to get anywhere with girls. Though this could be down to me (not my looks or anything, I just struggle with approach anxiety

I think the basic science applies to all situations no matter where you are we brits have the whole stiff upper lip victorian repression thing going so id say that that mabye makes day game a tiny miniscule teensy bit harder because you have to be a lot more warm and really focus on your NVC i.e. soft eye contact smile etc but to say that no girl will like you or that its way harder and impossible here is 1) an excuse for having bad game and 2) loser talk

I think a lot of things that are suggested in The Game would get you a slap, laughed at or just walk away in Glasgow and Scotland as a whole. I know The Game is dated but a lot of the same things apply.

When I was in Singapore last week it was easy because they seemed to dig Westerners.

I think the whole dating scene in America is very different from the UK. You guys always seem to go on coffee dates etc. In the UK it is always drinks. A day time date would make it seem like you're not interested and want to be friends. Friends go for coffee.

Funny. Even before coming to this subreddit, I never had a problem with speaking to strangers here (in the U.S.) I'm pretty good at building rapport and threading conversations, and people genuinely tell me really personal stuff. It's weird now that I think about it. I think part of it is that I'm simultaneously passive and active in conversation. I try to let the other person talk more (because I hardly ever have anything interesting to say.) But, I actually listen and respond based on what the other person says. I've noticed a lot of people just let the other person talk and then talk back at them, rather than legitimately responding to what they say. So, if you're talking to a woman and she still seems closed-off or bored, build off your questions in a open-ended manner to connect with her better. Like "what's your major?" > "what do you plan to do with it?" > "why do you want/like to do that?" > etc.

That's bullshit. I challenge you to go out and say "Hello, how are you doing?" to 10 girls on the street with confidence and a smile. I guarantee that at least 1 will respond positively, no matter where you live (unless it's Saudi Arabia). If you can't go out and approach 10 women, you have no right to make any broad claims about the people in your country.

We're friendly as hell and girls have no problem talking to you. Flirting is something you just do here, though there is a friendly level that is different than the serious level and people know the difference. Casual niceness will not be considered flirting and you do well to be more overt.

This question almost inevitably leads to overgeneralisation. "oh I know a guy from Europe and he says this.." or "I've been to America once and.." every country is different in Europe, and America also has subtle cultural differences, however, at the end of the day people have sex wherever you go. Imho social circles and immediate setting probably matter more than country. And even if that's not truE thinking your country's difficult isn't going to help your game.

I used to see a women from eastern europe who had moved to north america (large urban city 2m+) in her teens. Her complaint was that north american men were very reluctant to approach and it left her very bored at clubs or just out.

I discussed the suggestion of sexual harassment/etc and it's application as both a tool used by some disturbed women to harm men or cover drunken mistakes, and how it has tainted the idea of success in casual pick up. On the flip side, there is a real concern of having a serious situation occur to them by 'random stranger', and how this is slightly defused by social proof in friends references/associations.

She understood, but always thought it was a culture of fear and misogyny/misandry on both sides even if it was never really consciously known by the parties involved.

Guys who I know that come here from Europe and start gaming in the US tell me game is WAAAAAAAAAAY Easier back home (Europe) than it is in the US. Apparently US women are some of the hardest to game on earth.

From the way these guys describe it, game in their home countries is actually pretty easy in comparison. Apparently just getting past the initial resistance of the open is enough. Once you're past that you're golden and you can actually be pretty pull without any push. I think that's what Direct works so well in European Countries.

So the key in Europe, from what I hear, is be cool social and a little persistent and then once the girl finds out you're a cool guy you're good to go.
