This is one of the big reasons (aside from AA) I don't approach, because I don't want to get trapped in some dumb conversation about sports or stupid TV shows.

EDIT: It looks as though I'm going to have to rephrase my question and ask again in a few months. A few points:

1) There seems to be some sense that you can just "figure out" intelligence by watching them speak. If that was the case, then we wouldn't need SAT scores or IQ tests to determine intelligence, just 5 minute interviews.

1b) As for vocabulary.. yes, that is a strong indicator.. I guess my question was: How can you get those indicators out in the open? Not every answer requires advanced use of the English language.

2) I got a lot of "talk to her" responses. Yes, of course you have to talk to them. That's not what I was asking. I was asking what I should say! Out of those responses, I also got a lot of "come up with something yourself".. Well that's what this forum is originally about, am I wrong?

2b) To follow the previous point, it's already been said in this thread that there are multiple levels of intelligence. Is it impossible that someone could be a social retard but have strong logical or mathematical intelligence? Perhaps that's the situation I'm in!

3) Yes, you can watch Spongebob & be smart. I was simply saying that is not a strong indicator. However, now that this circlejerk has christened him your idol, I will no longer bash Mr. Squarepants in this forum again.

4) I've already asked this question before, but with different wording. So for those of you who think I'm just trolling today: Nice try, but I'm just trying to get my god-damn question answered.
