you know I just spent like 2 minutes typing up a shit test that I put girls through, and halfway through realized how stupid and ridiculous it is. Thanks for asking this, now I know to not ever do this again.

A shit test would mean to willingly create some kind of situation to see how a woman would react to it. I'm sure some men do this from time to time but I think most men would rather just ask the questions they want the answers to or observer her actions. Creating unwanted situations to see how people react seems like unnecessary headaches, and it's manipulative as well as potentially destructive.

Then again, I'm sure there's a lot of men who just couldn't care less how she would handle these hypothetical situations either way, because they are just focused on maintaining the relationship or getting laid; or because they've learned to expect it all from women and have been conditioned to accept it either way(basically, accepting bad behaviours/responses from women as an unavoidable fact of life that they can't really do anything about and must learn to deal with).

Women shit test to see if you call their bluff, which is the exact opposite to what a man should be doing. If I tell someone never to do "blank" again or im gone, guess what - I'm gone if she does that.

I believe you where trying to ask 'Do men shit test woman in a similar way woman shit test men?' The answer is not really. A woman shit testing a male potential mate is a result evolutionary biology. Men don't have these same instincts as woman. Men do however have their own way of shit testing woman imo. A man can direct a conversation in order to gauge a woman personality, character, & intelligence. For example if I am talking to a girl who tells me she regularly visits psychics, I can bet Im are talking to a woman who lacks intelligence & accountability. I have in my own way just 'shit tested' her & determined that she is not LTR material. (But truth be told a beautiful woman can be a insane, racist, moron. & that won't stop a man from just sleeping with her.)

I don't think I shit test. I qualify in a very straightforward way. Maybe it's just that I don't care enough about playing that game on my end, or I think that shit tests are a waste of my time.

Edit: For example: if a woman tells me, "I may not be able to make this weekend, I'll be busy." I just assume hey she's probably busy, and I say "Hope you have fun! We'll link up next week." It may be a shit test it may not, I don't really care. Why would I do something like this? If I'm not busy I don't want to tell her I am, now I might have to make other plans for no reason. It's reaction seeking and I am not a fan.

ITT: a thousand definitions of "shit test".

What a shit test is not: qualifying, asking questions, teasing, negging.

What shit test is: behaving inappropriately/absurdly to provoke a response with which to gauge the partner.

Telling your gf tells her bf she's pregnant (when she's not)? Shit test. Complaining about a guy hitting on her that doesn't exist, denying sex that hasn't been asked for ("We're not having sex tonight"). Those are examples of shit tests.

And, yes, sometimes men do these sort of things.

I absolutely shit test. I love it. It's fun and it pays off. If females use the "shit test" on you, why wouldn't you toss the same tactics right back? Totally fair game. Anything a female would "use" on you is something you should throw at them.

I like to usually "shit test" first because it takes away the power of them doing so later on. Like after a nice laugh if I was to say "you know I'm not having sex with you, right?" actually can turn her away from thinking "no chance" to thinking about having sex. I have used that very line countless times and I have always had positive results.

And we all know how annoying it is when a girl says "you know I'm not sleeping with you tonight" or whatever. I have never had a girl seriously shit test me once I already did so to her. Never.

If you can be a challenge to a girl you can find a way to attract her. This is an easy way to demonstrate that you are a challenge. As soon as she thinks she can have you 100%, you are a boring option and you end up in the friend zone.

Based on my experience, I would put it this way. A shit test is a way of challenging someone in order to figure out if this someone is

1."appropriate" for your value

2. worth your trust.

The first one usually applies to situations where you don't know the girl and you want to make her yours. From my experience, a guy would apply shit testing on a woman only if he comes from a place of abundance. He would shit test her to see if she is "appropriate" for his value and at the same time better than the other options he has. Examples of this type of shit testing include:

What is your view on LTRs - you want to see if she is GF material or not
How would you rate yourself in bed - you want to see if she is confident or insecure. Usually the more confident the better the SEX
Any deep question that requires mental capacity to answer - you want to see if she is capable of establishing a deeper connection with you.

The second one applies to LTRs. You are already with the girl. You have fun and you like her a lot and you want to see if you can trust her. Many would argue that a confident man should never do that and should always assume trust. Others would argue that this is manipulative and you shouldn't do it because it ruins the relationship. I am quite neutral on this because I have been on both situations and I cannot really find an optimal solution. If you think that you should do it however, Shit test examples while being in a LTR include:

You are hanging out with your friends and you ask her what does she think of your hottest friends.
You ask her to go and get drinks while partying at a nightclub and you see if she is checking out other guys.
She is talking to another guy and you see if she has a flirtatious body language.
You have a fight and you find out if she has told to all her friends.

As you can see, shit testing from a guy's perspective has two sides. The "healthy" one which applies to situations where you have high standards and you want to find the ideal girl and the "dark" side which applies to LTRs and a common mind might see it as weak or beta.

The jury is still out.

I won't speak for everyone, although I'd assume plenty of guys would agree. I don't "shit test" because I judge a woman by the way she acts normally. "Shit tests" kind of feel like setting someone up for an answer, so I know I wouldn't take much stock in the results. The best way to see someone's true character is when they don't think they're being observed.

If shit testing means gathering information to see if you really want her, then yes, men do that.

If it means unconsciously testing whether the personality and confidence she portrays are real, then no, at least I've never seen that.

And no, don't try to apply shit tests to your game. It'll just make her less comfortable.

I think every conversation is a shit test. I think of it more as a test drive, but as initiators you have the opportunity to leave whenever they want, and that can be enough of a shit test. if they find you again, then they probably want it.

There is a difference between qualifying vs shit testing, peeps.

Qualifying - is basically looking for information that, if true, validates your decision to proceed with her.

Shit test - a woman will ask a question where she hopes that you dont answer in the affirmative, or for that matter, at all, and thus disqualify yourself from her romantic endeavours.

I will dole out deliberately offensive humour to see if she has a sense of humour or confidence. If she is offended and says so, it's good. If she jokes back, it's great. If she just looks offended but says nothing it's bad.

A shit test is a test of your overall social value. Men's social value is based upon leadership, affluence, and other forms of dominance and power.

Women's social value is primarily based upon their physical looks, so essentially every time a guy checks out a girl, he is 'shit testing' her. In this way, the male shit test is equally unconscious as is the female shit test.
