This is how I see it: You know how you use the dipstick to check your car's oil? Same concept.

When you ask her out, you're just checking at what the point the oil's at. If it's high, then you're ready to go, if it's low then you must fill it with some oil before your car brakes down.

That oil is attraction. When the guy speaks about "Brad Pitt", the attraction (from the girl to the man) is already there. Why? Because he's fucking Brad Pitt. What you just thought about when I asked you why is the "aura" (or in other words, the context) from which the woman wants to hookup with the man. (that his famous, rich, handsome, etc). Obviously, attraction can be built not just on the girl's preconceptions, but it certainly helps.

Its just common sense. Us guys are so dense and delusional. Its logical if you actually wanted to go out with someone and you legit couldn't you would of course say "how about x day instead" to make sure they know you aren't blowing em off.

Let me get a litmus test.

I have a dance thing I go to one evening every week and I invited a girl to go next week with me.

She says she can't and has a believable reason, then she asks me to text her in a few weeks to go when her schedule won't be so hectic.

I feel like I'm just being strung along. She knows when the event will happen every week. If she was truly interested in me, wouldn't she tell me she'll text me when she's free to go?

Is there a way I could avoid this in the future?
