The popular post about inner game recently made me think about whether inner game is really the answer for all /r/seduction problems.

I've been following this subreddit for maybe a year now and I've gone through the whole inner game bootcamp that is a reoccurring theme here:

  • Dress well
  • Work out
  • Have a successful career and hobbies you enjoy
  • Fix your posture, body language, and eye contact

It took a really long time, but at this point I think I'm scoring a B to A+ on all of these. I still haven't had a date in over a year though.

The issue with all of this inner game and self improvement advice is that you look great on paper, but how is a girl supposed to find out about all of this on Tinder, during a 5 minute conversation at the bar, or while you're asking her what her dog's name is at the park? It's not like we get to hand out resumes about how we make six figures and play piano.

I'm just trying to help guys not make the same mistake I made where I focused on self improvement for a year and thought everything else would take care of itself. The real problem for me has always been the complete lack of a social life and a lot of social anxiety, the self improvement mentioned in that post above really only matters if you're already meeting girls regularly. You could be the King of China but in my experience if you're at home all day reading How to Win Friends and Influence People it's not going to take you very far.

So my question is: if there were a part II to that post to help those of us with incomplete social lives, what would it be? Have any of you guys had to build a social life from scratch after college?
