You are on the wrong sub for your personality type. All these guys think cold approaching at clubs, malls, coffee shops, etc. is the only way to do it. Ignore them and their downvotes, it isnt for you.
You need to setup a system that puts you in the proximity of girls frequently. Take advantage of the "mere-exposure" effect.
It is a psychological phenomenon where people tend to like other people who are familiar to them. This occurs after being in someones presence day after day.
How you do this is join classes. Photography class. Salsa dance lessons. Drawing class. WHATEVER.
Co-ed sports teams like volleyball. Focus groups.
These things FORCE you around people. You build connections without trying. Just be extra friendly with people.
That way you arnt wasting times on dating apps and scuzzy bars. You are bettering yourself with classes and friends.
Good luck!

See? You dont have to be this big "alpha male" guy. Girls who are out doing stuff are compassionate. They want real people/men
[–]Do-it-for-you 17 points18 points19 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think you’ve got the wrong idea of being an “Alpha Male”. It’s simply about being completely confident in yourself, having high self esteem, having a positive vibe wherever you go, taking initiative, and taking advantage of what life gives you.
Which sounds exactly like what the guy above you is like.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ya I agree. That is why I put it in quotes. Most people have a very skewed idea of what alpha male actually is. But you get it :)

Years later you'll be telling your kids "and that's how I met your mother!"
But hilarity aside that was a good story. Something similar happened where I started to attend a Doctor Who/general sci fi interest club in grad school because I was stressed and lonely,. I made a lot of good friends in that group which led me to attend a Halloween party a few weeks later where I met a tall woman dressed as a cute witch. She knew some of my friends from the club I attended so that was a good conversation starter. She was also way taller than me so we teased each other about that. Got her Facebook, we chatted for a week or two, then went out on a date at a brewery, then we hooked up later that night. We would hook one or two more times (memory is a bit fuzzy since it's been a few years) but nothing really came out of it. We're still friends now but live a few states away from each other so we'll catch up over the phone or FB every once in a while.

Not OP but thanks for the advice. Is there a better sub for such questions than this one?
Also, do you think its a bad idea to start a hobby/join some regular groups/activities without being strongly interested in this hobby beforehand? (Just with the intention to meet people/girls?)
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I 100% would urge you to join things you arbt interested in.
I hate dancing and knew nothibg of sals. I joined. I was so nervous I almost ran out and never came back. Looking back it was one of the best things ive ever done. Met 2 amazing chicks.
I went to a buddhist meditation group when normally I wouldnt and had one of the most amazing eye opening experiences Ive ever had in my life.
You NEVER know who you wull meet or when. Join everything you can.
The best thing? People who go to these things are avidly lloking to meet new people so they are friendly. You dont have to crack through some shell like at a club.
[–]crabzillax 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Keep doing this even if it doesn't work. You'll end up meeting someone. Just don't be in an hurry and use your free time to improve yourself, acquire self confidence and live in a sane mental feeling.
Be happy, make friends, go out, socialize.
[–]notthatinnocent24 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Also travel. You meet so many people when you travel. Stay in hostels, be open and honest about what you want so they don't feel pressured and good luck.

He needs to fix his low self esteem. Otherwise the “mere- exposure” effect won’t happen.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 27 points28 points29 points 7 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Being in classes and socializing is a very normal natural way to build relationships/friendships. It builds confidence and social skills and in turn helps with self esteen issues.
What destroys self esteem is coming to a place like this thinking you have to study tricks and pickup lines and learn how betas become alpha etc. That isn't even necessary and clubs and Tinder is certainly not natural or healthy long term behaviour.
It is great if you wanna just go and cycle the girls and bang, but it is unnecessary and counterproductive IMO.
[–]frogma 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Do you know where OP lives, or are you just making assumptions? I don't live in an area where I can join a bunch of clubs and shit. You do, but I don't.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 8 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So start one? Think of all the people around you that want to go do something? So be a leader!! There are thinga going on no matter where you live, I wont accept excuses.
[+]frogma -7 points-6 points-5 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Ok, but your answer is that he needs to join a class. Does he have money to join a cycling class or some shit? Because I certainly don't. I'd tell him to start approaching people (women or men) at the bookstore, and/or the grocery store, etc. I wouldn't just assume that he's a rich motherfucker who has enough money to take a class in whatever bullshit. Nor would I tell him to bother with that unless he's genuinely interested in it, in its own right.
What destroys self-esteem is a bad childhood and/or just a naturally-shitty mentality, and/or an actual social defect. I have terrible social anxiety, but I can still go to a bar and meet women. My girlfriend is a bit older than what he's looking for, but I met her at the bar. He can go to a bar and order a water or some shit, and still flirt with women if he wants.
What you said is basically the same as telling him "Pay $300 for this thing, and you might meet someone there. Or, it's a free thing, but you still need to go out of your way to make something happen, assuming there are even any attractive women in your little class." We aren't all rich motherfuckers with a shitload of free-time. I'm off for 2 days a week, like most people, and I tend to spend that time with my friends, or to clean my house or some shit.
While I'm with my friends, I can go to a grocery store and make a random joke to the person nearby (man or woman). And what usually happens is that we start a conversation based on my joke. Bada bing, bada boom.

Your attitude is so sour and negative not to mention presumptuous and full of anecdote based evidence and advice you have no business giving.
I play meetup vball for free on the beach all summer - free. People bring out nets and balls. Every Wedbesday I go out with a groyp of photographers and models donate their time. These are photographers that give free lessons for fun.
Hackspace is a rpbotics club where you can use their facilities for FREE! I coached special olympics - that is volubteer work. It feels amazing tobhelp out and meet great people while you do it.
I could go on and on if you want.
I hope you learn to turn your defeatist attitude around my friend. It is all false beliefs swarming you.
[+]frogma -13 points-12 points-11 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If you play in some free volleyball league, then mention it to the fuckin guy who's asking about it.
I'm not sour and negative. Then again though, where do you play? Do you think this guy lives around there, or what? Where do they do the special olympics shit, and are you also suggesting that this dude should meet women at the special olympics? I'm not joking -- I wanna know. So let me know, please.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol you are one miserable dude. All the coaches at S.O. were female.
They are intelligent, successful, eeucated, active and great personalities and compassionate. Know what else? They aint on Tinder. Like most girls of quality, they are out doing shit.
I used ot as an example. Volubteering is a great way to network.
Anyways, please stop messaging me. You are a sour individual who gets mad at the world aroubd them because they cant fix their own shit so make excuses. Take care, brother.

Seconding dancing. Not only can you meet women your age at the lessons, but you can also use those skills at weddings, bars, concerts, etc. Women like men who can dance
[–]Wakka_Grand_Wizard 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Can I get in on this? Please expand on this because I have heard a PUA guy say something similar. Cold is great to build up esteem but your method is more solid. So please, I would love to know more thank you =)
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Cold is not necessairly great for self esteem. It works for some and not for others. It is skill, but not necessary.
Cold pickups are awkward and unnatural, and some just dont have the time because theyd rather focus on other things in life.
If you work on bettering yourself then nothibg lost if you dont meet anyone in the process.
I find guys who are good at cold pickups have a very high drive for sex. I love sex too, just with girlfriends and not randoms. I much prefer to get to know someone first and make a connection.
[–]Wakka_Grand_Wizard 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I find cold approaches are fun when I am having fun (being silly) and have high energy. Personally, when I do them, I just do them for fun and see what happens. I agree it can be awkward and unnatural for some.
Ahh, sex drive=energy? Idk if I have a low sex drive but I get that drive only when I meet a specific girl (e.g. red-haired, curly, freckles, etc.). So, I tend not to focus too much unless it is a girl I actually find to be my type. Then everything rolls off my tongue rather than stuttering. I don't mind randoms if they are down to earth, if crazy, then hell no lol.
I know to make someone the object of your pursuit creepy. Would it be creepy if say, I saw a girl across the coffee shop, she looks back, I smile and nod, look away as I sip my coffee and go up to her and say that I think x looks good on her and begin to chat? It has been a long while for me so, I want my intent to match the impact. Best times have been when I have just been silly or self-amused (I guess?).
The key for me is energy and happiness =)
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That is great, it sounds like you have it down. For me, I find idle chit chat painfully boring. I am horrible at it and would rather just go about my day.
Of course I know I miss out on opportunity and of course I qish I coyld just walk up to the hot girl at coffee and strike up a convo. But fantasu is different than reality and the fact is I just cannot be bothered to go through that process.
Meet, talk, get number, text and build rapporte, maybe she ghosts or maybe she doesnt, a few dates, maybe it goes somewgere and maybe it doesnt, etc.
This takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. So for me playing vball and afyer 4 weeks I know where or not I like a girl or if she is a match. Attraction gravitates me to her.
[–]Wakka_Grand_Wizard 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haha thanks for saying that because honestly, it has been ageees.
I think if you change your mindset to "having fun with a hottie" rather than "I need x from her", it will be easier. I too cannot be bothered most of the time, and I accept that. I just can't pass up certain girls lol
I would say, do the usual intro convo and set the rules. If she wants to play, great, if not, then time to go.
[–]Endoss 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Cold approach pickup is only as unnatural as you make it my dude. You probably haven't had much success with it which is why you say that you'd rather get to know someone and build a connection first... but the heart of cold approach pickup is to speed up building that connection in the first place.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really like this advice. Do you have any recommendations on what kind of classes are better suited for meeting women? I do martial arts and honestly there isn't too many women there.. I'd love to start a hobby with a higher girl to guy ratio.

Dance class, dont be shy. It is super fun and girls LOVE guys who can dance. Dont worry if you have no 8dea how to do it, the fact you have now idea how yet jave the balls to learn makes girls swoon.
Photography. Girls love it. Also girls love gettibg treated like models. Meet models.

I actually wanted to get into photography to up my insta game. For photography, do you recommend taking semester-long classes? Or like a seminars?
I've been putting it off until I have a camera but it's definitely on my to-do list.
Do whatever. Join a meetup.com around you. Take some classes un your area. Where I live they offer all sorts of classes. Just google it up.
[–]TheSuitIsBlack 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Good advice. I'd recommend something like Hot Yoga at Core Power or something like that. It is 90% young chicks and an easy hobby.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I actually find Yoga to be horrible. Mainly because it is very zen focused. People are encouraged to be quiet and focus on their practice and often it is an escape from the busy chattering life.
No doubt it is 90% girls, but I try to partake in activities that encourage conversation and interaction. Yoga doesnt.
[–]Alex_O7 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I not agree in part of your response. Join group, attend classes or doing some squad sport are all good advice, but because someone have to choose to do whatever he like! Not to meet girls!!
It is stupid to attend photography class if you dislike it, but only to meet girls. Plain stupid.
Moreover, if you attend class to get laid you could found some problem. Problem related to the frequency of meeting the girl you like. This frequency may affect the seduction process imho, and is easier to get laid with girl you know only superficially.
They were just examples. Join what you like. And i didnt say just to meet girls. You do something fun and meet people in the process. Win win.
Take what you want from what I said.
[–]ToxicRocketry -5 points-4 points-3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
So...in order to help the guy find ways to get girls for his personality type, you are suggesting he build social circles where he’s almost guaranteed outcompeted for a limited number of girls by other guys who are better integrated? Great advice.
And nice generalization too, BTW.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Nice limitted belief and defeatist attitude 👌🏻.
Salsa dance is more girls than guys. When I volunteered it was mostly girls. Photofraphy was mostly girls. And the conpetition was not stiff.
Maybe actually go out into the world and try a few things instead of coming to uninformed conclusions and giving advice you have no place giving.
[–]TheLongerCon 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I’ve salsa dance dancing for over a year now and I’d say salsa dancing classes are definitely not mostly girls. Certainly not young attractive single girls looking to meet men. Not saying it’s a bad idea, I love dancing but I don’t think it’d be worth it for the girls alone
Depends where you live & go. Or what you do with it.
I live in a large city. Definitely mostly girls.
[–]ToxicRocketry -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Says the guy that seems to have completely missed the part where OP confesses to not being a social guy and then shits one of the easiest avenues for the guy to get results, namely cold approaching (and then saying that everyone on this sub recommends it, despite social circle being pimped here 80% of the time). Social circles are great for building social lives. They are very much hit-or-miss when it comes to girls, especially since you are directly competing with every other dude in that circle.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You think you are competing with them but you arnt. You come at it from the wrong angle. You come from the mentality of scarcity, fear and anxiety.
You over analyze and instead of looking to the positive of what I said you waste time pointing out what is wrong.
That is the problem with you analytical types. This is why you talk tourself out of things amd have trouble with girls.
Go out and do things. All things. Girls will rise to the surface. One that matches you will come to you.

I second this. Meetup is a great app for finding activities you actually like and building social connections.
[–]javaberrypi 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Can you elaborate on this?
I've gone to a few Meetups before (last year and the year before, I was 21-22) though most of the people I met were much older than me. The groups directed towards young people (20s and 30s) are also mostly late 20s and up. How do you find groups where I can find people with similar interests and around my age?
I live in a pretty big city in the US, just FYI.
[–]oddapple 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I was in NYC so there was no shortage of meetups. Obviously, it will vary by city but if you are in a decent size city - you shouldn't have much of a problem. I started with the usual social drinking/exploring NYC type of groups but realized that most people had drinking as a priority. Those groups were also not ideal locations for conversations.
I moved on to bowling, archery and smaller well run hiking groups which had a decent mix of people. I also tried an indie film viewing group which was also quite fun. I tried and quit many badly managed groups throughout the years.
I'm in tech so I also attended meetups around relevant topics as well. I dated a couple of girls I met via tech meetups. So, I wouldn't rule anything out but I would start with activities you actually enjoy. If you don't have any on your list, sit down and think about things you would like to try and then find a meetup that meets your criteria.
Each meet can be hit-or-miss initially so I wouldn't get discouraged by a bad experience. Just try the second meet or find another group altogether.
Ironically, I found tech meetups the easiest to approach women and had the least approach anxiety in those meetups. Hope this helps.
[–]fighterzacc 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I've not actually been to a tech meetup on the account that I assumed it'd be mostly dudes. Might give it a go.
[–]javaberrypi 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm in tech too, and went to a VR meeting, but that was more of a seminar. I did meet a couple interesting people, but there too it was a lot of older people. I'm in a sort of social slump right now (pretty much for most of this year), so even though I've been meaning to hit a meetup soon, I guess I've just been making excuses not to go.
I'm also considering volunteering or joining a class, cause that will take the pressure off of straight up cold opening strangers at a meet and will also be a good time!
This was pretty much my experience too. The people are alright but they're either much older and I've never seen attractive women at meetups (I guess if they're attractive why would they attend them?).
[–][deleted] 30 points31 points32 points 7 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
So this advice might not be popular on here because it avoids “game” and doesn’t take a long convoluted route and doesn’t need a bible of an explanation like the book everyone likes to jerk off to, “models” but here it is:
Every guy I know who has slept with a lot of women approached women. They got rejected? They didn’t care. These guys had nothing in common, looks/financial standing/education. They approached. Doesn’t matter what they said. They approached. Follow me?
Approach.
[–]le_GoogleFit 13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
That's exactly what Models is about so I don't know why you disagree with the book...
[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 7 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Because you don’t need a book on how to approach. You just approach. Same reason you don’t need a book on how to take a shit.
[–]le_GoogleFit 14 points15 points16 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Have you even read the book? It's more of a motivational read and advices about life in general that also apply to seducing than anything else.
At no point is there a "how to" approach since that's exactly what the author says he wants to avoid. You criticize but apparently you don't even know what you're talking about
[–][deleted] 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
[–]le_GoogleFit -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What?
[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes I did. He starts off the book saying Freud’s quote that even after thirty years he still doesn’t know what women want. Obviously Freud spent too much time listening to women and too little fucking them.
I didn’t state anything about approaching in the content of his book. The book is not bad per se. I mean he says some stupid shit like where he says something about “show me a guy who is good with women and i’ll show you a guy who has been rejected over and over” Word? I know some in shape, tall, sharp guys who are good with women and always were....
I’m simply stating with all of this that people beat around the bush instead of just going up to a woman and seeing what’s up - that’s what men have been doing since the beginning of time. Didn’t woody allen have some quote saying 95% of being good at work is showing up or something? Same applies here.
[–]Gunter5 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
People should get off the internet for sure. IMO saying (hey.... Situational opener... Scripted opener that you know will start a conversation) then just go with the flow.
My sticking point was always... what do I say
[–]greenlittleman -2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
There are guys who approached hundreds of women without any solid results. So no, you definitely need a book on how to approach depending on your current level of social skills.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Social skills?
Two things:
1) Looks play a much larger role than social skills
2) And you’re talking about a bigger issue then. If the dude is approaching women while she is carrying 2 bags of groceries out of the store, i can see why.
[–]greenlittleman -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
For guy looks don't play significant role as long as you have strong game or social status. Girls go for your looks only if you don't have anything else to offer them.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Dude what planet do you live on?
Let me ask you: if a fat ugly chick(assuming that’s not your type) learned “game for women” would she be able to pick you up??
What the hell are you offering them if they’re horny and want to fuck and you DON’T look good?
[–]greenlittleman -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Let me tell you - about 80% of young people are not fat and not too ugly, but they still struggle to reach their goals in sex and relationships. Being fuckable doesn't mean that you'll be fucked. Also there is difference between genders - basically women could be sexually excited by anyone depending on circumstances. Basically fat ugly guy could make any normal woman cum with his fingers alone. This is scientifically proven and also proven by history of prostitution - all prostitutes become wet no matter how bad their partner in looks or else it would be almost impossible to serve someone while woman isn't wet.
But fat ugly chick couldn't make most guys horny no matter what she'll do. Still there are guys, some of them good looking, who actually fuck fat chicks, you'll be surprised by their number.
You just don't understand - woman should make herself sexually desirable to success in attracting men to approach her and trying to become closer to her. But this is different for men, bro, women want man who have higher social value than them and also make it happen in a way in which society don't shoo them away for sleeping with him.
Sure if you are good looking it will give you burst, specially when your game sucks. Because good looks are part of your value and for ugly girls this is enough what you look much better than them. But high value behaviour is much more important. If you are handsome as fuck but have low value behaviour then you could only fuck much less attractive girls who will tolerate you because of your looks - same way when extremely beta guy tolerates shitty personality of his girlfriend. And if girl perceive you as much higher value than herself then it doesn't matter if you are ugly, she will sleep with you anyway as long as you create circumstances in which she'll feel this is safe and don't make her a slut (or if she is slutty anyway then all what matters is your value in her head).
Also to clarify your question - average or even a little below average looking girl with "great game" will have much more success with guys than gorgeous model with shitty personality. BTW - for girls our low value actions and neediness is type of shitty personality.

I'd suggest doing daygame and meeting women on the street, in a mall (my favorite place lol), or any public place where there's people. I also hate going out to clubs and such so I prefer daygame.
If you still live near where you graduated, go back on campus and find women to talk to during the school year. If you're ever out eating with friends, find girls to talk to during that time.
There are always plenty of opportunities. You just have to be persistent and seek them out. Good luck to you my friend

First thing first, Go outside. Try a walk, or, if you have a dog bring them to a local brewery that's dog friendly. I don't like beer, but everyone else does apparently. And 2 things that women/men love? Beer & Dogs, especially single owners of dogs that by which enjoy beer.
Second thing is to talk to a girl, start with small stuff. Now, normally with public speaking I'd recommend to picture your audience naked. I wouldn't really recommend this on a date or talking to a girl you find attractive because it might the conversation more...pointed.
third thing is to have a solid female friend if they friendzone you. Take this female friend with her to go out to do stuff and have them be your wingwoman! There is no better wing than a woman. Women treat other women's opinions of other people far more than they do men (and rightly so to be honest, we're really fucking dumb).
fourth thing is to get married. It's easy, once you find a girl you like, buy her dinner and walk her into a courthouse, give her a ring and just say that you're trying to give it to her for free. Give her a marriage form and just tell her you need her to sign it (don't tell her it's a marriage form), make up some excuse about the form stating that you can't charge her in any way shape or form for the ring. Once she signs it, then boom, you're married. EZ-PZ.
Remember, "Instant Marriage" By GrislyGrape
P.S. I told my gf this and she said I'm lucky I'm in a relationship. So take everything I said with like an ocean's worth of salt.

I dont like drinking, bars or clubs.
[–]frogma 13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't need to drink, but on Friday/Saturday nights, you should go to bars anyway, because that's where most people will be. Just order a water or whatever. The trick is to pretend to be confident. Once you learn how to pretend, you'll soon discover that you're actually being confident without pretending. It's a funny thing, and if you just make the effort, you'll see the results soon enough.

The guy who doesn't know how to swim doesn't like swimming pools. How could you like it if you arn't going out and pulling girls? It's time to do things differently and get out of your comfort zone.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
I have drank before, I dont care for it. Its also hard to find someone else to be the DD so I avoid drinking so I dont need to worry about getting a ride home, I can drive myself if I am sober. Plus everything is out the way, the university I went to is about 20~25 minutes away so an uber would be expensive to maybe get a date. Im not looking to hook up either, Im looking to date and get a relationship. I dont even have my own place or even room at the moment to hook up.

You don't have to drink to go out. In fact one of my wingmen never drinks and I sometimes don't drink either. Everyone has this idea that if you meet a girl at a club or bar then you cant have a relationship with her but that's a load of crap. If you don't have thr means to hook up then what makes you think you can be in a relationship? That's completely ridiculous.
You sound boring, completely uninteresting or fun and like you are so desperate to be in a relationship because you don't know how to attract women so you are hoping if you can just get one girl that will date you then everything will be ok.
What you don't realize is that, how you are now, you will get super attached to the first girl that gives you a shot. That could take years and then you will become extremely needy and she will crush your soul. Then you will be back in the same situation only worst off. Go to some bars and clubs, open like 50 sets a week and sleep with some girls. Then worry about a relationship
[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Im pretty sure not everyone hooks up with the person they get into a relationship right away and specifically at the guys place. That sounds so crazy honestly. Basically you are saying I need to find my own place, hook up at my place only until one girl wants to be with me and thats how I get a relationship.
I dont really understand why Im boring for not wanting to drink or go out to those places. There are other things to do in the world. Maybe it works for you and thats great but your basically saying I need to change myself and do things Im not interested in to get a relationship. Isnt that what youre not supposed to do? Also, am I supposed to avoid women completely until I get my own place?
Again if it works for you, you are enjoying it, you meet women left and right then thats great for you but I definitely wont have anything in common with girls that like to drink and go to bars and clubs and want to hook up. Its not me and Ill get rejected even more if I pretend I like any of that. I appreciate your view though, I just dont think thats for me. I want to meet someone, go on dates with them, get more comfortable, if sex comes up then thats great but if we wait until the relationship then thats even better. Idk thats how I want it to go.

YES!!! You do need to change yourself, clearly, since you aren't happy with your current situation. You literally just told this other commenter that you don't want to change anything. Ok, so is a girl just supposed to fall in your lap, randomly? NO. That's how that works!
You need to change something about yourself first. I'd start with your mentality in the first place.
Like someone else said: you're focusing on your problems, and you're just kinda whining about them (no offense). Then when someone gives you advice, you're like "Nah, I can't do that." Well..... that's your fuckin problem right now. And trust me, that was my problem too. Once you put yourself out there a bit, that's all gonna change, and you'll be much happier.
[–]judahman8 22 points23 points24 points 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
I think you might be misunderstanding me. I'm not saying everyone hooks up right away with the person they get into a relationship with. Nor am I saying you have to wait to get your own place to have a relationship. What Im saying is that not having your own room or place is no excuse to not sleep with women.
I'm assuming you are a boring person because of the things you are saying, not simply because you don't like to drink or go out to bars and clubs. Interesting is subjective but If you were an interesting person then the chances are that you would not be in this predicament. Ask yourself, are you actually interesting as a person or are you boring?
There are other things to do in this world, so what things are you doing? If you really want to wait until you are in a relationship to have sex then thats fine. I'm warning you tho, you will be waiting a long time. To be honest I think you have convinced yourself that you want that but you really don't knoe wtf you're talking about.
If a fine ass girl walked up to you and started a convo and then took you home with her after a few hours of good convo, stripped naked and said "we can have sex tonight, but I'm moving to another country tomorrow and I probably won't see or talk to you ever again" you're trying to tell me that you would turn her down and say "no, this isn't what I want"? Let's be serious bro.
I think you are young and you are self justifying your lack of experience with women. You have convinced yourself that you don't want to have sex with women by using simple pain avoiding denial. Stop this nonsense!!!
If you wait to only have sex with a girl you are in a relationship with unless it magically comes up, then you are going to be waiting a hell of a long time. The longer you wait the harder it's going to get and you will end up getting more and more desperate until you end up with a girl who is way more desperate than you. That is if you don't die first.
I don't care if you like going out to bars and clubs, I dont like eating vegetables but its good for me. Going out to some bars and clubs and talking to a bunch of girls is going to be good for you. Learning some game is going to be good for you. You don't have to like it, you don't have to sleep with any girls if you don't want to. But at least put yourself in a position to be able to choose not to sleep with women. Right now you couldn't sleep with girls even if you wanted to, so of course you're going to justify that in oder to avoid pain, it's completely natural.
I'm the version of you that isn't being fooled by that bullshit. I'm only trying to help. I actually don't sleep with very many girls. The difference is that I can if I wanted to. You need to be in that position of leverage so to speak in order to get an optimal dating partner. I wish we lived in a magical land where you just get an awesome girl that you really like but in reality you are in a competition. If you take the passive route you will be lucky to get scraps

I think the best way to meet people long term is through mutual friends. If you have groups of friends then if they meet with another group that's a good way. But after uni this is way harder as everyone fixmjg moved away and house parties aren't really a thing anymore. So maybe joining a club? Also Tinder... Bit it's depressing as hell. But you just need to find or good person.
Also tbh travelling. Theres so many cool people who travel. Stay in hostels and make friends. It's amazing.
[–]NilacTheGrim 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Oh shut up. Bars and clubs aren't for everybody.
There's plenty of women just walking around in parks or at book sales or flea markets or farmer's markets or any other place.
It's a different kind of game there "day game" as it were -- but it can payoff just about as well as bars.
If he's not a bar guy why should he compromise himself?
Let him be him.
[–]judahman8 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No I won't let him just be him, I want him to be the best version of himself. Sure he can do day game as well if he wants but day game takes a lot more time and energy and it takes a certain kind of person to do it successfully. It's much harder than night game so I was suggesting what I think would be best for him.
How many times do you think a guy like this has even gone out to a club or bar? He hasn't even been going out to talk to girls which is really the only reason to go out. Of course he doesn't like it. He's basically a guy who saw 3 black and white films and decided he doesn't like movies. I have friends that did the same shit. Thry are the same friends that claim they don't drink because they drank once at their house and threw up.
It way more likely that he simply doesn't like being put of his comfort zone. Even if he doesnt like going out I think it wouls be good for him. You have to get these people out of that loop they created and other fools like you reinforce and pander to. I'm not buying any of the bullshit because I know better. So you shut up you big stupid head lol I'm just joshing

Go sober. You will have the advantage. Watch rsdtyler, he changed my life.
[–]NilacTheGrim 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't have to go to those places.
You can meet women.. in the LIBRARY or a BOOK STORE. I shit you not. And the girls that frequent those places are often of much higher quality (emotionally, etc) than the girls you get in a club or bar if you're the kind of guy that isn't into bars/clubbing.
Go to a library or bookstore. These days book stores are rarer but libraries still exist in bigger cities. Or go to an arts and crafts type antique farmer's/flea market sale bazaar thing where women may go to look for knick-knacks, for example.
The key is to picture the kind of woman you'd want to be with and imagine where she would go -- and then go there and start searching.
It's a lot of work and hard as fuck and sometimes may make you wanna give up -- but it's worth it. Nothing worthwhile was ever easy...
[–]EarthquakeBass 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Then it will be harder. Try to find activities you enjoy that women might actually be at, e.g., running or bicycling club. Get some good photos taken by a friend and go on dating apps. See if there are any events such as concerts sponsored by universities in your area. Etc.

Wear a suit
LOL. You don't have to wear a suit. Go for artsy hipster chicks without a suit.
Although to be honest I bet even they would got for a guy in a suit too, lol.
The thing is don't wear a suit unless you can wear IT. If the suit wears YOU -- the girls can tell.
You're better off in jeans in that case...
[–]judahman8 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol yeah you don't need a suit but I tell everyone to wear suits. A nice cheap suit from H&M can do wonders for a guy. If a suit like that is wearing you then you probably look like a schmuck in some jeans too lol
[–]CollusorReginae 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Really? Wearing a suit in a club or a bar (that is not exclusive). He‘ll make fun of himself and his appearance won‘t match his behaviour...
Me and Tom Ford wear suits anywhere we go, I don't care if its a picnic Lol. When you wear a suit to a place noone else is wearing one, you will find girls coming up to you out of the wood works. It's basically peacocking on 100 in a good no ridiculous way. Jeans and a blazer work great too but I'd wear a tux to a dive bar if I felt like it lol. A well fitted suit can instantly add 1 whole point to your looks. It's basically and enchanted item, your personality is kind of irrelevant.
The sooner he starts wearing suits the sooner he will get comfortable and more confident in them. His personality will follow. Suits are made to make you look as presentable as possibly. You don't say "I'm not wearing a suit to this wedding because I'll just end up making fun of myself and my appearance wont match my behavior". That's just retarded. You don't need a certain personality to wear a suit no more then you need one to wear jeans and a t.
Start wearing suits and you will feel more confident when you see how differently people start to treat you. People call me sir and I'm a straight degenerate that doesn't take anything seriously. Girls are way more at ease when I approach them and I feel like a boss. Suit game for life!!!

Some solidass advice in this thread
[–]hellayaked 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Talk to people in general. Build some momentum then just approach people in grocery stores. Learn good body language. Be a seducer not provider. Dude how come you didn't pull in college? Not to make you feel bad, but its super easy there even with r/secution basic techniques. Its a good learning ground. Get some in field practice just talk to everyone. Go to bars and clubs and make out with fat chicks, its good karma. Literally just do whatever you like and bring her into your world. Start small. Do approaches, especially with girls who give indicators. Then start just making out with some. I literally pulled a girl to the bathroom 3 weeks ago in a nice bar. Made friends with everyone. Bartender bought my friend and i a shot. This girl came up to me and said " Lets make out." It is because a fat girl i made friends with introduced us even, the fat girl had just met her that night too. Pays to be friendly. This was a smaller bar too. Bathroom was nice and clean. Now I see her regularly and shes into some awesome shit sexually. But it took me 6 weeks to get there after a 5 year relationship. The week before i was getting punched because i was practicing nonreactivness but was a little too unreactive hahaha. I didnt even run much "game" that night. Now im trying for another girl and will hoenstly take me longer to get like 2 months probably since im going to focus more on fitness and money. Just get out there bro and have fun with life! Message me if you like.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I started at community college and then was at a small off campus site when I transferred to a university so I didnt have options. I tried when I could but it was rare since I had to go to the main campus to be around more girls. Plus the girls I did meet all throughout college treated me like crap because of my accommodating, people pleasing, anxious, and low self esteem personality. No one really gave me a real chance after a date or two, I was just the guy they used for attention.
I dont like to drink, go to clubs or parties and Im interested in girls Im interested and want a relationship. I dont want to hook up with a random girl. I dont want to settle for anything less than I want.
