Young men are having less sex, but it is actually women's choices driving the decline. Women have decided to become more choosier. With all the feminism and indoctrination of yo go girl and "you don't need to settle", women are encouraged by society to all chase the Chad Thundercocks. This unsurprisingly means that men who aren't Chads are cut out of the sex game all together, and women who don't have the looks to land a Chad but are unwilling to have more reasonable expectations just end up having no sex at all.

Anyone who thinks this is not the case, can just look at Drake (who many women would consider a male ten- good looks, high status, rich, pop/rap icon, etc.) and then look at his baby mama (not good looking at all). When a girl who is a 4 or a 6/10 can sleep with male 10s, why would they settle for a 6,7 or 8?

One can also blame males who are good looking with low standards. If men who were 10s,9s were not sleeping with low quality women, this wouldn't be happening.

I really think the root of it is accessibility. Normally in a world without social media women have the pick of the litter. Having sex is nothing for them, super easy to get. With the advent and popularity of social media that fact is magnified and the deficit for men is also magnified plain and simple.

It’s tough out there. Women don’t respect men anymore. I feel as though women look at us as bumbling idiots because that’s how we are portrayed on television shows and movies.

I find this extremely offensive. I have seen YouTube videos where an interviewer asks women, “What do women do better than men?” And “what do men do better than women?”

All of the women went on for days about what women do better than men while few could come up with anything that men do better than women (critical thinking, spatial awareness, physical strength and mental toughness).

It’s not that women became choosier. Women have always fucked men they want to fuck.

The graph kinda follows the economy. No seriously! We had the dot com boom and subsequent bust around 1998 and a major financial crisis in 2008. Things have been getting better since. Looking at the replies, seems like there are several factors working together:

- The introduction of smartphones and increase in their usage, people are on phones all the time now and talk to strangers less, look each other in the eyes less.

- More cultural pressure be ashamed of your sexuality as a man has possibly increased (feminism)?

- Online dating becoming very mainstream

- Easier access to free internet porn than ever

By the way, one thing to remember is that while it looks like the trend started to change in 2008, I would say it's not really statistically significant until maybe 2012 at the earliest. The numbers were still within the "normal" range of the previous 20 years up until about half way between 2008 and 2018 where it really started to go outside of that. Just pointing that out, the things causing this change could have started several years after 2008 and it's just coincidental that 2008 was the low point before 2012-2013.

I think it's a mix of various things. Online dating means more choices to be picky about, social media sending our standards skyhigh, spending sexual energy on porn, men having no balls to approach women, some women being picky and it's easier to stay at home and not meet new people.

Of course there's the standard stuff too that get people rejected for. For me it's my bisexuality. Not too many women are into less manly men, especially since I have a belly piercing and am into women's fashion and makeup. Can't fault me for a lack of trying though. It's hard out there.

As females are more liberated, there are less couples. When there are less couples, females all get concentrated sexually to a small number of men.
