The veneration these guys get on this sub confounds me. It’s not that difficult and none of their material is worth thousands of dollars. They mainly sell to desperate guys who are looking for “one trick” to get women when of course there is none.

They only consistent thing I see between those PUA YouTube channels is that they all encourage cold approaching. And to do it a LOT.

So basically go to the casino and pull the lever on the slot machine as many times as possible to increase your chances. It's a numbers game and purely dumb luck more than anything.

But I noticed they also teach frames/mentalities to deal with all of the rejection you'll come across as well so that's good too.

One time I saw a post in a general dating sub about a woman asking how to help this guy she was dating calm down on dates because he was such a nervous wreck. That blew my mind because people always talk about confidence until they're blue in the face. That was an example of a woman dating a guy that couldn't even compose himself around her and yet somehow she was STILL interested. I found that to be a good example of the "luck" aspect of it.

It IS stupid. Being a PUA for a job is just embarassing, and people will give me shit for shitting on how some people make a living, but so much of it is just manipulating women to have sex with them. How is that cool or in? I simply agree with the whole "what you say doesn't matter, so there's nothing to learn" because the big thing you're trying to learn is how to be the best, most confident version of yourself. Everything else will follow. Confident people can do bold things, like approach, say what they want to say, and then say fuck it when it doesn't work out, and they'll keep at it until it does workout. They love themselves and that's simply the end goal. #deeprantover

Most of the "game" is bullshit of course. If you're not conventionally at least average in terms of looks, no amount of game is gonna help you. There are essentials that a beginner must learn, such as how to stop a girl and some basic body language reading. One can even become confident which is an essential component of game, but you can't become taller or make your face look nicer (absolutely the most important feature for girls).

game is nothing. attraction is in 99% subconscious and in 99% based on look. conscious attraction (e.g. shes calculating whether she will benefit on fugging you) can be based on things like money, fame, social standing, status, whether you r liked or an outcast, job, personality, etc.

I've never paid for this kind of thing. I went to an RSD free seminar once.

But I do think there is something to be said about game. Most guys are terrible at navigating the social landscape when it comes to sexual tension and flirting. Let alone approaching a random girl outside of his social circle.

To be fair, I'm sure there are a lot of scam artists out there, or some guys with poor skills who market themselves as gurus. But I think the reason you feel like you see them contradict themselves is because there is no one strategy that "works" on all women. Women are individuals and you have to learn how to read them and understand what concepts may apply in a particular interaction.

So it's not simple, it's nuanced, it's more of an art than a science, and it's called game... it's supposed to be fun, and exploratory. The general concepts you read about are things that are meant to give you guidelines and help you navigate weird/tricky situations. But ultimately, it's about developing social skills and reference experiences. Everything you learn from game; thinking on your feet, being more empathetic to strangers needs, being able to read the vibe, more confidence, more charisma, etc etc. These things will all help you get laid. More importantly, they will help you be the guy who can start something from nothing. You can initiate a romantic encounter on the street, on the beach, in the park, at the library or anywhere because you have the social skills to do so, and you are able to lead things forward all the way to the bedroom. When meeting new women is fun and low effort for you, you will meet a lot of women. Any girl who catches your eye, you can start a conversation with.

There is no way I would have been able to do this without game. The theories presented by some of this guys helped me immensely. But nothing would be possible without actual practice and putting in the time. Take action, gain experience and see for yourself.

Cuz PUA is bullshit. It's not a skill where it takes you 5-10 years to reach the ceiling as those pua gurus want you to believe. It's just to be social enough to not choke while talking or not be too weird, which is quick to develop even if you are socially awkward, nothing like 5-10 years, more like a few months to a year.

In reality it's the looks that get you laid. It's 80% looks, 20% game.

I always ask this, if game is so important, can a 5'2 skinny bald indian guy get laid with 5'4-5'6 white attractive girls, without paying obviously.

Show me one guy like that who lives in the west and i will quit my job tomorrow sell my car and shit and go learn from him like a guy who goes to learn from monks in the mountains lol.

But let me tell you, he doesn't exist !!!!

Because the truth is any type of game can eventually work if you go through enough women because not all women like the same things in the same way. Every type of approach has their selling features and their drawbacks, the secret is knowing which one to use for which setting.

That's why I say the best guys with women are the ones who calibrate. Who can feel her out the fastest and figure her out.

Without confidence, you can't get a woman's attention. Without decisiveness, you can't lead her. Without calibration, you're basically just gambling every time you approach someone.

Sincerely, as you say a lot of this stuff is bullshit.

But i have to admit that i didn't know a lot of the things PUA says. It helped me a lot to see people on YT just (seem) to pick out of nowhere, with different method and styles. It gave me comfort. And i never ever considered to buy into those shit because afterall i know that most of what they show is either fake or disguised.

I aslo think that trying to make money out people desperation is not a beautiful thing. But on the other hand nothing is completely free (for this reason i think that a YT businesses model should be ok for PUA).

It's really not that difficult. The problem is that modern society teaches us how to handle these experiences and desires very poorly and it's hard to break from that way of thinking once you've been doing it for 20, 30 or even 40 years.

I think any of these guys can be useful if you have an area where you are deficient and they can provide ideas.

My text game is terrible and my ability to be "man to woman" vs. just platonic can be bad despite being above average looks and charismatic.

I started doing much better in my weak areas when I started checking out the guy from playing fire.

I think taking bits and pieces of their game if it suits you is best, but taking everything every "guru" says as gospel is silly because well...your not them and your personality and life experience is not theirs.

I have never been impressed with ToddV. His video presentations and and his vibe are a bit tense and un-chill IMHO. He's very popular (apparently) so I think he just has a different style than I want to have.

You're correct that infields have a surprisingly weak correlation to the material as taught in books and certain video courses.

The infields that look successful to me (that I believe are real and that I want to emulate) are very low key and usually, "un-gamey". A typical daygame infield that ends in a number close is a lot more "job interview" style without much visible, audible "technique".

But watch carefully. There are usually time constraints being introduced, and the body language and progression of the dialog leading up to making future plans and number closing are a lot more polished than they appear on the surface. For example just at the beginning, an experienced PUA never allows a moment of silence between the opening line/banter and the beginning of introductions and Q&A. There is more too ... so watch infields very closely.

Which brings up another point, some of my favorite PUA coaches post a lot of student infields which they critique and break down. These are hardly worth watching. Concentrate on genuine infield approaches by trustworthy coaches whose style you like.

About coaching books etc: a good coach will have good lecture materials. It's important to know technique. Every good coach, even if he happens to use a smooth, natural style, has studied technique a lot and knows the popular concepts inside out. They use the techniques every day ... but only as needed and in a way that's so subtle the girl barely knows she's being "gamed".

Game techniques are only a catalog of natural, human mating instincts which were codified in order to teach them to awkward guys to help them rediscover their innate seduction skills.

I think people should just adopt their own style and maximize it to their potential. There's a strength to being quiet and introverted or loud boisterous. People just need to find it. Pick your own style and master it.
