Everyone has preferences. No need to feel like you're toxic or misogynistic. What you're saying is essentially the same thing as a woman who wants to date men who are ambitious in their careers. Which is an extremely common phenomenon.

That said, I'm the total opposite. Women who aren't career-oriented tend to be clingy, not to mention emotionally and financially dependent. I want someone who is their own person and who I view as an equal. If things become logical and I have to put in more effort to create sexual tension then so be it. But that's just me.

I'm currently encouraging my girlfriend to get a better career. To each their own 😊if she makes more money, that's more money for me too. We will both be better off - we can travel more and have more fun. Work less hard for the same pay. This will also come in handy if we get kids. Kids are damn expensive yo. I don't want to lead her. 50/50 is good for me. Feels fair and balanced and everyone is happy. I used to be in a relationship where I tried to lead everything and it was exhausting and frankly kinda toxic on my part. That said there's absolutely nothing wrong with your preference. Tons of men have that same preference as you do!

As a career oriented man myself, It is a huge paradox for me. I like the same quality in women but the relationships just end up fizzling out. The extra clingy girls feel annoying after a time. But it is what it is.

I would love to NOT be a career oriented woman.

But unfortunately with marriages these days it's terrifying out there.

I'm now of the age where my friends are getting divorced from their first marriages. No career. No qualifications, No work experience, two small kids. It's not about picking the right guy either, some people just grow differently.

They are exhausted and barely getting by without large support from the people around them who are financially independent. It's tough out there, don't make It tougher on women by limiting them.

Also two paychecks= more money 🤷‍♀️

I do kind of agree, also they're harder to plan meetups with, they're usually busy with work as well so when i'm busy she might be free and when she's busy I might not be free.

I don't have anything against them if they put the relationship first but they usually dont.

OP setting himself up to find women who view him as a meal ticket and eventually a free ride once he has a kid with them.

I’d rather build a relationship with a woman who knows how to take care of herself in the a real world. Then I know she’s not with me just for my money or success.

I sense lot of insecurities in you. Even if they are independent it usually doesn't matter infact you should be the person to support their careers. Coming to romance give it time mate i am preety sure with time the romance will come in. If romance is something that bothers you then just ask the women you date to make the dates more romantic.

A lot of career-driven who have more masculine traits also tend to have a dismissive avoidant attachment types, and as someone who has experienced this first hand they make terrible partners. Whenever things start to go good they tend to run away and theres always a hot and cold dynamic.

Career oriented women are a pain, there is a time and place for it, but the relationship must be built before she’s career oriented.

I know a couple who were madly in love with each other, she didn’t start her career until later in life, she cooks for him almost everyday, and submits to him and him alone that’s because they established love before her career

I was thinking about this exact same thing about frame the other day. To have them operating in my frame and being a compliment to my life would probably be so much more rewarding as a man if she was not a career women. With her also having a career and have to cater to that, possibly even have to prioritise her career can lead relationships into some dangerous territory.

I have seen it before with a guy that was in between jobs but had a career but also ended up as stay at home dad, the lady(lawyer) met some guy at her job and divorced him. They had 2 young kids but she just told him (she already had the guy lined up) and he ended up moving out. He thought before that she was the one and going to be with her for the rest of their life. I feel kind of sorry for the guy. But diagnosing it I kind of think that it maybe also a factor that he was a stay at home dad for some time. I think maybe it is kind of unsexy because managing the home and kids and have to manage all that and talk about that with your wife all the time is probably not very attractive to her. I guess people have a lot of stories of not being able to preserve the flame once kids are involved.

It’s not like you are saying it’s wrong or that woman shouldn’t be career oriented or ambitious.

It’s just not your preference, which is fine.

So many people have preferences like this they would never admit or aren’t even really conscious of yet would go crazy on you for this…

Speaking from experiences I completely understand this post. This is why I dumped my ex - just could not invest nearly as much as an average girl can in a relationship.

Disagree. The girl I am dating right now is highly career driven and has very demanding work hours working in a prestigious firm.

We make time to spend as much time as possible with each other on the weekend and she will come over on weekday nights to work on her projects instead of staying at the office. We did have some hiccups in the beginning about her work schedule but we communicated maturely as adults and is making it work smoothly so far.

You've said the conversations you have with these women are more logical, implying that this isn't the case normally.

You also say it's hard to be the man in these relationships.

These things imply to me that the women you date are leading you, when it's normally better the other way around.

You aren't as masculine as you think you are, and you lack the self-awareness to realise that. That's where this problem is coming from.

I do want to say, my current GF is very career oriented, but also very feminine. I've never felt more masculine than I do when I'm with her. Some women are really good at balancing and kinda segmenting their personal and work lives.

I've been trying to reflect on why this is the case...I think a big thing for us is how we divide our acts of service. She always does the more feminine things for me, like making coffee in the morning, and I do the masculine things for her, like oil changes on her car. We're purposeful about this and have had a lot of conversation about how to most efficiently show care for one another.

Although the few entrepreneurial women who legit get TO THE TOP, like CEO of a $100m company, yeah those are basically men. No way around that.

I agree but im very successful and don't work and go on month long vacations. I literally cannot date women that even work at all. Because one they make no money compared to me so it seems silly. And I don't have a job I don't want to work around their job. Yuck.

Don’t limit yourself? You’d be surprised. Life is full of potential and those that see it and go for it are usually the happier people.

Life is a game and those that see it competitively usually have more fun.

I’m a career/entrepreneurship orientated person whilst simultaneously being the fun bubbly and dark/mysterious feminine at the same time, I love getting those I love out of their head/matrix.

You're certainly allowed your own preferences! Romance is all about feeling, and if you're not feeling it, that's enough reason to have a preference. I personally like highly educated, logical people. The instances I've had to watch my women completely in their emotions to the point that they're speaking nonsense and are beyond reason has really turned me off from a certain type of person.
