Don’t think about it too logically you have to read the girl in the moment. Thinking about such things too much makes it worse. Be present.

But, if I could describe, sit next to her, and at best start with hands, ideally use rings as an excuse. And progressively push, pull (tease) and build comfort. Touch, see how she reacts and pull away and repeat progressively. It's hard to have a canned approach to touch. You have to to be observational of both opportunities and comfort level.

One thing I've found that works is hand massages. A massage friend showed me a few teqniques

I usually say, "Oh you look like you have a lot of tension in your arms". And I'll ask if I can massage their hands.

If their receptive, I'll usually give them a finger, wrist, and forearm rub. I've never had any complaints.
