Wife told me today if she had the money to get divorced she would divorce me today but she’s going to live off of me instead. I decided that I’m gonna give her what she wants and divorce her then. I just got a promotion and I make $130k/yr now. Before we married she made like $30k as a single mom and then left work to stay at home. I’m not her kids father and no one is on the birth certificate. She hasn’t worked in the 6 years we’ve been married so any idea on how alimony would work if we went to court? When we talked about divorce she said she’ll refuse to sign the papers (she’s been divorced before, I haven’t) and she wants “all of my income” lol I know a judge wouldn’t grant that. She just is trying to stop me from filing because she got scared I was thinking about it.

I told her I’d pay her $3,000 a month for alimony for half the marriage 3 years and she declined for all the income. What’s a judge likely to grant her? Is mediation worth anything? Will I have to pay child support? Her daughter is 11 years old and has never met her father. I don’t mind paying her for a couple years to get them on her feet. I don’t hate her but I’m done with whatever this marriage is. I’ll pay to get out but I think she’s asking for is unreasonable.
