That's what they are for, not dating.

The men, with matches, have their pick & just want to get their dick wet. The women have sex on the first date, because if they don't, another girl will, and she will be ghosted. They hope that will lead to dating and a relationship.

For your reality check. When I was single, I'd use them when traveling for work. Chat with them for 10 minutes in app, meet them outside the hotel to make sure I didn't get catfished and then directly to the room.

If they were doing that for me, I don't want to know what they were doing for the top 5%.

The part of this that makes me annoyed is the divorce aspect. My ex gets money from me every month to maintain her standard of living. Then every night she isn’t with the kids she goes on a date equaling thousands of dollars a month in standard of living. Meanwhile I’m basically out my going out budget directly to her and I’m expected to compete.

I was on most of the dating sites for 10-15 years, with hardly any results. It's basically a slot machine game. They feed you some wins, but not too good, because then you would stop paying them.

I found my wife in a couple months on Facebook's dating service on their mobile app. The difference is that Facebook makes money off me somehow whether or not I found a match.

Kinda the same with job sites. They get hundreds of applicants. There is bound to be a few more desperate and with better credentials. If you're not that you will have a hard time without things that really stand out or how you present yourself.

Same with dating apps. Many won't read your profile because next swipe is an 8-9.

Because we have no standards and women have. I'm a man, I feel the same but let's not be judgemental. Downvote me if you want, but this is our fault, not theirs, we would go even for a hole in the ground, while they are all waiting for Brad Pitt. I guess we should raise our standards and learn to accept to be alone rather than dating lower. Besides, this is a fact women don't need sex as badly as we do. Their sexual urges are conditioned by their physiology and they can feel very horny punctually or not horny at all for long periods of time. I was talking sexuality because I guess this is THE big difference between us. For feelings I think we are not so much different. They have their traumas, we have ours. We are all looking for love, I just feel women have an insane urge to control everything and panic to the idea that if they don't they will be manipulated and unhappy. They end up as manipulators and controllers themselves.
What is sure, is that the "air of time" doesn't facilitate things and just increase mistrust. 30 years ago, I felt women and men as biologically different but all good fellas trying to move forward and have a life and be happy. Now there are streams of hate, every day I learn that I'm an abuser just because I am a man, and I should shame myself for what I am, as if I have chosen it, or if the stuff between our legs makes us angels or monsters.
This is insanity. Wish internet be dead and people start over just with real life experiences to discover everything by themselves.

if you're going to use dating apps then your pictures should be damn near professional and you have to understand the difference between the male gaze and the female gaze. The notion that you have to be top 10% of men is nonsense, but it is hard out there, that's for sure.

I’m tall and I’d say above average looking, in solid shape but …I don’t have any decent photos of myself / am a straightforward person so doing the whole acting “mysterious” and “ spitting game” thing just feels unnatural for me.
