Please read my previous posts for context.

Found out about pre-marriage infidelity 3 years into our marriage. He ended it. I was second choice. She never told me even after the vows.

Now, her life is a mess. She has no career, a small support system, and although she’s living in my second apartment rent free … she tells me she is sorry and cries every day and says we should try make it.

I don’t want the relationship anymore. But I also feel guilty just thinking of being with another woman. I don’t know if I really deeply love her or I’m just attached at this point. I think it’s love because I truly loved her with every bit of myself. It’s why I asked her to marry me omg the tears

I have doubts every time I see a photo of us together. I remember the good times and wish I could go back to them. But I also remind myself that there were so many more bad times where she gaslit and manipulated me. Even now being apart she sent me this string of messages about how her life is falling apart.

I feel guilty. I feel selfish that I tried to reconcile for 6 months after I found out and then “for no good reason” one day I just packed up and decided I don’t want to try anymore. She was on the floor crying begging me to stay saying “we’ve been doing so well. Things have been so good what did I do wrong tell me what I can do better I’m sorry I’m sorry.”

I felt so guilty and bad. And she’s right we were treating each other kindly for the most part that last 2 months - but I couldn’t handle it. The lack of trust ate me inside and her manipulation still leaked through.

I was scared we’d get into a bad moment like life will have it, and then she’d treat me badly again.

I have so many emotions. I feel like I’m abandoning a person who needs me and who I promised to love and support.

But she cheated! And lied for years!! How do I reconcile with that?! And she manipulated and used to physically abuse me too.

I don’t see how it’ll ever work no matter how much self work and therapy she does. But in my heart I still want to make it work because she was supposed to be my forever partner.

I feel like I’m going crazy and guilty for “being selfish” maybe it’s a lifetime of people guilting me. Maybe her manipulation is getting to me.

Bros I’m tired. Do you have any words of encouragement and experiences with manipulative victim women like this?

I am tired

I plan to follow through cause deep down I know we need to divorce but it’s just really hard
