There is no alternative, because people don't have social circles past college. Society will continue to become more and more profoundly antisocial. I think what is most likely is that dating apps that emphasize the user experience will be used more than the currently popular ones, which hinder user experience for profit.

engage in things you care about, hobbies you enjoy and build a social life. most people i know meet their partners just by living life, not by going people shopping on dating apps. that way you can feel people out without the context of dating immediately and you will meet people who are interested in the same things as you.

or go on dating apps, have little success with not so great prospects as the average guy or enjoy the illusion of choice as a woman that comes with ghosting and situationships. dating apps work for very attractive men and women who only want casual sex which are both minority groups of their respective gender. at least if you date in america or similar countries, it's completely different for western guys in some other places.

Dating apps work fine for attractive men. They make their money by taking advantage of men who think that they are attractive enough that dating apps will work for them but who actually aren't.

A lot of these men don't have social circles, either. The big issue is that too many men are addicted to being online. The best way for many men to meet women is to limit their online usage and to develop social lives.

I used to meet women from chatrooms, personally, but chatrooms are mostly a thing of the past, and I don't think most men have the patience and the chat game to do something like that.

I’m a woman and don’t like dating apps either. It’s not an issue of quantity but quality. And the fact that I’m childfree, which seems to be rare on dating apps, just makes it hard.

In theory reddit but people are just to broken these days...I read post after post of all these single women that claim they can't find a man.. or they've never been in a relationship etc.. even women claiming to be femcels.

But in in every dating related sub reddit it's primarily unanswered post from men seeking women...

What it really comes down to is women just like to complain and vent online and the internet tends to draw in the mentally ill and eccentrics.

Dating apps work if you pay for them are good looking and having some prestigious career helps...pretty sure if your 6'4" blonde haired blue eye pediatric heart surgeon that lives dogs has a horse ranch and volunteers with Drs beyond borders saving kids in war zones you'll have no problem on dating apps...that's how Harry met Meghan

But if your 5'9" and stock shelves at a warehouse forget about it get your passport you could marry a whole village of Ugandan women.

Honestly sign up for classes at your local community college. You can meet people between classes and in class! I have made friends this way! I haven’t been dating recently but there’s enough men and women usually. Unless you pick a random male dominated class. Don’t skip any study groups and if women are studying without headphones and out loud ask them a question about stuff they are studying. I take night classes and there’s tons of men and women around.

We know for sure that dating apps aren't as benevolent as they are since they are making money. If they were as efficient as they could they would lose long term clients.

You’re assuming most people on dating apps want to find a long term relationship. That’s not necessarily the case. I’ve stuck with dating apps for 6+ years because they provide a reliable supply of short term options. They’re very efficient for that.

In 2024 the set of people on dating apps and the set of people who might be interested in being involved with someone in the same location are virtually the same. Hell, the largest dating app is instagram. Men who dont do well on dating apps dont do well off dating apps either. So it is not the medium thats a problem - it is that the majority of men are undatable by the women they want to date. In business it is known as the lack of product/market fit. No amount of marketing fixes it. You must make the product that fits the market

Dating apps are the best most efficient way, if you struggle with the apps you will struggle everywhere else as well.
