Move on. She's not into you, and she's trying to let you down easy. Think of the situations when people use the term "that's nice." It's almost always use in a pitying way or like when you're dealing with a child. Also, if she REALLY wanted to see you, I doubt her parents' strictness would be the thing to stop her.

As a guy who grew up in a strict family, I can attest to this. Parents were very much against almost any social life except if it focused on studying for school.

Many eastern cultures are like this, especially if they’re first generation immigrants.

Now, she might be interested but she’s just being nice by telling you that as much as she’d likely want to go out, it’s going to be next to impossible for that to happen.

You can try to keep the door open and try to date where she meets up with you without her parents knowing, but that’s up to her. You can try to meet her after school or try to join the same clubs if it helps.

Depending on how much I wanted to go out with her, I'd follow with "That's why I'm asking you out, not them" in a playful and teasing manner.

But, if she wasn't among my priorities, I would just say something along the lines of "Oh, okay! That's a shame" and move on
