In every Western country, women and girls are protected from all forms of genital mutilation. Boys and men are not similarly protected. This blatant double standard is usually rationalized with "FGM is worse and that means circumcision is okay, because...uh...because REASONS!" But there are multiple different types of FGM--some are worse than MGM, some are equivalent, and some are not as bad. It matters not. All forms of FGM are illegal, while MGM remains legal in every Western country. In America, this is a complete violation of the 14th amendment right to equal protection under the law, and I assume other Western countries have similar laws on the books that this double standard also violates.

That men are emotionally unavailable.

People seem to think that having, expressing, and talking about emotions is emotional intelligence. Those are two different things.

Emotional intelligence is an actual science that has been studied, measured, and published.

Emotional availability is a self boundary that I use when emotionally unintelligent people mistake emotional neediness for emotional intelligence.

This allows women to perform wildly dangerous emotional acts and be seen as an emotionally well set person but us men are scrutinized and more for balancing emotions.

Women are seen as mothers thus more important and naturally caring, nurturing and loving VS men are seen as just a father to provide resources.

Just look at how family courts treat fathers. Society can't even agree paternity fraud is a crime (there is no legal consequence for that) nor agree to have mandatory paternity testing at birth.

Then look at how family courts treat fathers. You don't even have to be the biological father to be forced to support a child. Courts rarely if ever apply that to women.

Then check out how women want chivalry yet don't want to provide feminine traditional roles in return.

Men buy diamonds, homes.... etc to marry. Then thanks to no fault divorce they can walk away with half in divorce.

All the way from initial courtship to children to divorce outcomes and custody is just one massive double standard.

Also see what happens in domestic abuse claims. They can claim the man was abusive and they take man away regardless if it was factual or not just for safety of the woman (man can have black eye, scratches and woman has no signs of abuse). Same with sexual assault allegations.. woman can lie but there is no legal consequences if she comes out as having made it up. Man has to fight to erase charges and clear name.

I don't see it talked about often but women can complain and say they want a man from another country when they hear that country thinks men should provide (conveniently ignoring those men would likely expect her to be a housewife).

Yet when men complain and say they want women from another country because they are nicer and don't seem so hateful they get hit with being a predator, that he's just looking for someone to manipulate, he's abusive to her, he wants a power dynamic etc.

Men and women always seen to end up doing the same or similar things yet it's always men who recieve the hate

This is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, but I once worked at an office job where men were expected to wear a shirt and tie to work every day, even in the dead of summer. Women were able to wear sleeveless blouses and short (within reason) skirts on those hot summer days. So while the men were hot and sweating in their long sleeve shirts and ties, women were able to actually dress comfortably for hot weather.

Much ado about "woman earn 20% less than men" but not about different physical requirements.

Risk of statutory rape, domestic violence or assault on the street often addressed only in cases of man-on-woman crime.

Women complain about unequal housework, yet they won’t mow the lawn, rake the leaves, blow/shovel backbreaking snow, scrape off a frozen windshield, grill meat, clean the gutters, clean the garage/shed, whack/pull weeds, or fix anything. We need to bring this up when women talk about “unpaid labor.”

I’m not sure if these two examples are double standards or that men just don’t have the same rights as women.

1. Men’s right to modesty, dignity and privacy in health care. It would be easy to list hundreds of examples of this.

2. Women’s right to unlimited access to men’s locker rooms in professional and collegiate sports. In some women’s sports the media is allowed in the locker room for 20 minutes following the game. The players wait for the media and everyone else to leave and then they shower. The WNBA just changed their policy. The media is no longer allowed in the locker room at all. In all men’s sports there is almost no time limit. The media and any women with a job title that has access can be in the locker whenever they feel it’s necessary. Some female reporters admit on YouTube videos that they spend an hour or two a day in the locker room. I have read that women in the media will get passes so their girlfriends can come in the locker room and observe. This is why the players shower and dress in front of them because there is almost never a time when women and cameras are not in the locker room.

That being a stay at home mother is a full-time job.

Women act like this is unpaid labour. Guess what? Men have to slave away to earn enough to support their whole family only on their income. Then, when they get home - stressed and exhausted, their stay at home wife suddenly expects them to do their ‘fair share’ of chores.

No. If you’re a stay at home mother, you do at least 90% of all chores. You have no roof over your head without your husband. You reckon being a mum is a full-time job? So is being a Dad. Except they also have to break their brains and backs slaving away because you’re too lazy to work yourself. They have two full-time jobs.

You have one and it’s barely even a sacrifice. You have to do the housework like any other single person? You get to spend more quality time with your children? You get to spend four hours in the middle of the day having lunch with your other stay-at-home mother friends? No, it’s absolutely misandry and absolutely a double standard.

I'd say the least talked about is the modesty double standard with respect to clothing, being covered up. Especially with children. Female kids are allowed all of the modesty they want. If a boy expects as much, he is considered a prude or sissy. For example, one time me and a female cousin were visiting our aunt. At bed time, my cousin was given pajamas to wear, while I was expected to parade around in front of my female cousin and aunt in nothing but my underpants. I refused by the way, I slept in my street cloths. Not too comfortable. but at least I wasn't walking around half naked. The most talked about ones are the ones we always talk about, of course. LMAO

In Ireland, and I think it's on the basis of Europe-wide legislation, it is illegal to discriminate against a person on the basis of their gender, race, religion, sexual preference etc...

I, like a lot of people had presumed these laws applied in all fields. They apply in employment, education and other fields but the law concerning gender is noticeably absent and does NOT apply in Family Law.

As a result, the default is that the woman gets the children, is presumed primary carer, has to be paid maintenance and, in my case, four years of court battles cost her nothing and me over €40,000.

After fighting for so long, she still gets all the child benefit and only she is entitled to a single parent tax credit. She physically abused our children, yet they have not been taken from her and although I have endless video footage of her being aggressive to the extent that she is seen on video punching me in the chest while I have our toddler in my arms, the Gardai would not even pursue it. There is no chance this would have been the case with the tables turned.

The absolute cherry on the cake was having a judge, when I applied for equal access, asking me incredulously, what I would know about caring for a two year old. He couldn't comprehend how a man could take care for a child, yet he is responsible for making supposedly fair decisions in Family Law Courts.

Today, every Man needs to live by these rules, spread these rules to every male friend, male family members and male coworkers. We need to show the younger gen of young men what we have learned from our dating, divorce, financial and even criminal experiences involving women. 1) Protect yourself first. So much could be used for examples such as buy your own condoms, don't trust her " I'm on the pill ", first few dates - double date w a wingman for witness esp w alcohol drinking. 2) NEVER SIGN THE BIRTH CERT until after DNA test. I work with Military Vets, so many pregnancies after deployments that numbers don't add up. I had to assist with Hurricane Katrina evacs also, the men there were finding out "their" kids and mom passed but DNA didn't match his so he couldn't be notified (HIPPA). 3) Prenup before marriage. Marriage and kids have become a financial incentive for many women. Divorce court usually gives them the house, 1/2 your retirement, alimony(some states), 18-26 years of c/s, you pay for their health insurance & 50% med/dent/optic etc bills plus everything else. 4) Strange behavior from gf/w start documenting, surveillance tools are cheap compared to the latter. 5) Keep very detailed & solid financial records, certain valuables are better kept in other places like Bank deposit boxes, personal safe etc. Trust & Faith can make you a Victim after the betrayal can be the worst devastating, even Family can betray also. Married Friend's (4y w 2y.o.) Wife & his sister went to a club, friend of his recognized his wife from family pics- took video of her grinding on dancefloor, walk out w a guy a return 20/30 min later. He lost the custody hearing. 6) Men, teach each other how valuable we are to each other, don't let our friends, brothers, kids (bio/not) and esp the young male generation we are tasked to teach to take over after we retire/pass away. ~~Just to clarify, I am happily married Man for the past 8 years to a wonderful God Fearing Country raised Woman (God & Religion is important to Us, our Family we created). I divorced w kids, I lived that life, signed denial of paternity bc she got pregnant during our multiple years of separation and custody battle. My Wife also divorced w kids her hubs is real pos.

While men need to push themselves to be good. I was a computer scientist student and women had it so easy that if she was a shy nerd she could get atleast something, a man having a personality like this would get harrased even by girls sometimes. I saw a girl who was kinda unnatractive and shy a typical nerd and sometimes people in college made fun of her one day a dude declared love to her and she said he wasnt a man in this was her equivalent. Which showed me the pressure men are always put through and how even the lesser women thinks she is better than the lessest of men.

Sexuality.

Women aren't nice to men, otherwise that would be seen as flirting and potentially dangerous for them.

Women are allowed to be sexually promiscuous, and attract men if she wants. More and more women are encouraged to be "dat bitch" and do whatever she wants

Men try to be nice to women, even just to make conversation or make friends, they are seen as weird or creepy. Because what man wants to talk to women other then to fuck her brains out right?

Personal physical safety.

Obviously, nobody wants to see anyone get hurt, man or woman, and the kinds of risks that men and women face are often very different. All of that is important and worth bearing in mind.

But the idea that women in general are less safe than men, whether we're thinking about crime, disease, workplace safety, or other issues... is an absolute fantasy.

More or less the entire world seems to work on the assumption that the world is less safe for women than it is for men and in general it simply isn't true. It's not even nearly true.

Women are expected to change their name when getting married. If the family double barrels their names, usually the man's family name is the one that sticks or is used for paperwork.

Children are expected to take the father's name, even if the parents aren't married.
