I don't usually support putting the majority of your focus on fitness for dating because as a fit guy for most of my life, I've seen first hand how overrated it's benefits are for dating but I like your attitude of being open minded and willing to experiment with different things.

Becoming more physically attractive makes a MASSIVE difference. Don't let the lazy fat/pencil arms on here tell you other wise.

Your game might still need work but if you're more attractive it'll be far easier.

Think of it like making a product far better which makes the marketing efforts for it way easier. Too many guys here only focus on the marketing aspect

If you are fat, losing weight will definitely help, but if you are skinny, gaining muscle won't help nearly as much as you are hoping.

the thing about 'game' is that it only works if she's into you/attracted (90'% of game is flirting hidden under various descriptions, techniques and names. think 'push pull', 'teasing', disqualification' etc ect). Now flirting is great, but if she's not attracted to you, it's very much unwanted!

If you become 'attractive' in the eyes of girls (for example, a magic pill that made you taller, ripped, good looking face etc), then it all becomes effortless!!

Going the zyzz route is the next best thing

If you've made that many approaches and only have some makeouts and a few dates, you're not learning anything. The gym will definitely help, but your game is still going to suck.

As you admitted, that guy was heavily on steroids/drugs and died young. Hitting the gym is good for health and vanity muscle, but the routine is also great. You want goals and structure in your life. Thinking you have to be shredded to find a date is very flawed inner game, though. Many women may even be turned off by a guy who appears more vain than them by being overly muscular, shaving body hair, etc. Go to the gym because you want to improve your health/wellbeing and not because you think it's just some kind of cheat code to pick up women.

OP is already doing approaches, which is good, but then decides to become a gym rat chasing a genetic anomaly physique, AND doing it natty? Anyone who has ever seriously lifted can tell you how difficult it is to get a zyzz physique, dude was genetically gifted and juiced up to fuck. It will take YEARS doing it natty if you aren’t top genetics or already packing serious foundations, literal years of consistent training and tracking. THEN once you get the physique you have to maintain it, no alcohol, heavy calorie tracking, plenty of sleep, probably feeling like shit and low sex drive because low body fat percentage and no gear to maintain you.

I’m all for improving physical fitness and yes it’s infinitely better than being unfit, I know from firsthand experience as a kid who started training to get the girls chasing, but now does it for the art. But saying that you are putting aside approaching to chase a top percentage physique doesn’t make sense. Being in the gym chasing that physique = no life, and no life = no girls. It’s like becoming a monk and joining a convent to try get laid. Someone else already summed it up, if you have a great physique but your game is shit you’ll be great at opening but you won’t get much further. But hey, who am I to judge, welcome to the club of reformed lifters brother!

It sounds to me like you're running the numbers game — but in the most awkward way possible. Based on what you’ve said, you’re doing tons of approaches, but they’re clearly not real interactions. Probably too short, too mechanical, maybe you're flat-faced, outcome-dependent, and not reading the girl's vibe properly. Girls don’t respond to “just asking for a number” — they respond to a feeling.

If she’s not laughing, playing along, or emotionally invested, the interaction is dead before you even ask for a number. That’s why they flake. You're probably not getting past the "stranger" stage into actual connection. It doesn't sound like you're calibrating at all — are you ever noticing whether she's into the conversation?

And yeah, looking like Zyzz might help — if you also have solid style, good energy, and can actually vibe with people. But jacked with zero game or social calibration just makes you look like a tryhard with a big body and small social skills. Girls want to feel something. If they’re not feeling it with you, they're gone — or they'll give you a pity number and never respond.

Honestly, instead of spamming approaches or hitting the gym as a coping strategy, you might want to work on just becoming more socially fluent, self-amused, and emotionally aware in your interactions. Get good at making people enjoy talking to you. That's the real cheat code.

Not to be demeaning, but good luck with that. Getting big enough to get attention from girls without steroids takes years of hard, consistent, skilled work that 90% of men are not capable of. If it was easy wouldn't everyone be doing it? Especially without steroids.

If you've done 100s of approaches and you're not having success then you're either very unattractive or you're doing something wrong.

You absolutely should be going to the gym but you should probably talk to a coach to figure out where your approaches are wrong.

all you gotta do to look better than the crowd is have a strong V shape and a flat stomach.
