Didn't get laid there but I don't think this would have been impossible. I did get some looks from beautiful women. A friend went there once and he did.

Try HUB, it's a chain of British style pubs where the more socially minded locals with some knowledge of English go when they feel like interacting with internationals.

But you know, the Japanese are generally more low key and shy than westerners, you'll need to make the first move usually, whether you're just looking to chat and make friends or for intimacy. If they're definitely not interested in talking with you, you'll know.

People do have sex in Japan.

Japanese women generally prefer Japanese men, but there is a small percentage of women who like/prefer foreigners. The good news is that this small percentage can be pretty proactive, even aggressive, in pursuing foreign men. You will need to position yourself in places where these women go hunting. Someone already mentioned a bar called The Hub, that's more or less the default place to go. Also there are international exchange parties, which are more or less meat markets.

Many Japanese women will go with the flow, so if you take control and lead her in that direction you can succeed.

Got approached by an attractively dressed Japanese-Philippina woman outside a Don Quixote store. She had a sexy top (big fake boobs) and tight jeans on. She had a pretty face and kind eyes. She said her travel companions had left a day earlier and that she didn’t want to spend her last day traveling Japan alone. Generally speaking, white men and Korean men do well with women that are interested in foreigners. There are so many Koreans in Japan. Try and learn Japanese before you go to increase your chances obviously. I hooked up with a girl using a translator, but other girls were not interested in communicating like that and just brushed me away.

Man, if you're a white and attractive looking dude, you will have no problems. The only issue may be the language barrier. I have gotten laid so much in Japan and I am married here now. Also, I'm an average looking short Hispanic guy (165cm).

I'm not sure where you heard these myths about Japanese people not having sex because they have lots of sex.

Never been myself but besides cost, the main reason is I've also heard it's pretty much the most sexually repressed developed country in the world. Probably would even have a higher chance in a "modern" Muslim country like UAE (Dubai). Neither is in the same ballpark as a western country like America, Canada, or pretty much anywhere in Europe.
