It’s not the same complaint though.

If I’m in a relationship with someone, I don’t like them looking at other women and getting off to them.

If someone is watching a lot of porn that depicts violence against a particular group or gender, they are feeding the demand for more content of that type to be produced.

The complaint that men have about average women sleeping with “top-tier” men is them being jealous that they aren’t getting the same.

Not only is this an absurd, it doesn’t even work in comparison.

The complaint about porn, which is widely available to everyone is that the act of sex is unrealistic. Sex in porn is choreographed, unrealistic and often painful. Pleasure and closeness is not the goal and limits are pushed for a better scene. Porn has given tons of people very bad perceptions of what actual sex is like. It has nothing to do with women’s attractiveness. Although the fact that you think that’s the main issue speaks volumes as to how you perceive women.

Comparing porn to women being desensitized by casual sex with hot men is actually ludicrous. That is an experience most women do not have and don’t want to have. So why would this be comparable to something like porn which everyone has access to?

Ya’ll have to stop letting that imagined world in your mind take over the actual truth of reality.

For one thing the bigger issue with porn is how it creates false experiences about the literal experience of sex, and what is within the scope of normal or what’s consensual between couples. For example, many women have reported men reaching out and choking them when it wasn’t discussed prior or even mentioned because “I saw it in porn”

And the whole “average women are sleeping with all the hot guys and this is an epidemic” talk has to stop because it functionally is untrue. Does it happen? Sure, but I think these spaces have a serious habit of hugely overestimating how often women sleep around. I really do think so much of this is based on “worldview first -> conclusion second”, because this whole notion is based on “this is sexual market value economics behavior. If I was a woman this is how I’d behave, therefore it is true”

That's not the only or even primary argument against watching porn. The most common arguments would be to do with:

1) Welfare of those in the industry

2) The type of content in internet porn teaching negative attitudes and behaviours (misogyny, homophobia, racism, violence, non-consent, etc)

3) Addiction and mental health

4) Cheating (I don't agree with this one but it's common)

It’s not about the attractiveness of the women at all. It’s the primarily pedophilic and violent nature of porn that is geared towards men. It is also the fact that men are about 5x more likely to develop a porn addiction, and the dysfunction that can create in his brains reward system and his ability to perform in the bedroom. Men who engage in porn often need to escalate the severity of the material they consume in order to gain the same satisfaction over time. This tends to create men who default to violence in the bedroom. It’s also shown that porn use can diminish your attraction to your real life partner/future prospects. I’m not sure you could find data to support that women who have had relations with well endowed hot men will never consider a relationship with an “average” dude. Most women I know including myself have had our fair share of encounters with more “exciting” men but ultimately settle for stability. Your argument assumes that women tend to be as shallow as men and while that certainly can be true, there is a reason why the stereotype of “men will fuck anything” exists lol.

These two scenarios aren’t really comparable. Maybe if the women in your said scenario were in the habit of only using male escorts, then I could agree that that could skew their view of sex and relationships.

The issue with porn and the unrealistic expectations around sex have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with how the women look. What an incredibly absurd statement. The unrealistic expectation is what sex and, more importantly, what intimacy in a relationship looks like. If your only reference point for these things is porn, you are going to expect that women both should be performing like they do in porn and that you should be able to act out what you see in porn. In that context, it is both degrading and harmful both physically and emotionally to both you and your partner. The vast majority of porn is highly choreographed with all parties involved agreeing to and understanding what is going to happen during each scene. That is not how sex works and if you go into it thinking you can strangle your partner, choke them with your penis, and anally penetrate them, all you've done is commit sexual assault.

I swear Reddit and porn have absolutely destroyed a generation of men. These posts here are so absolutely cooked.

I don't have a problem with watching porn as long as it doesn’t mess with our relationship or sex life.

I think the real issue with porn is how easily accessible it is, and how early people get exposed to it. It’s not necessarily about women being much prettier, although, sure, some women might be insecure about it too.

It’s like social media vs. going out to socialize. Your brain gets used to that instant dopamine hit, and then you stop seeking out other things that are actually good for you. But I think it’s mostly a problem for people who already have mental health issues or are more prone to addictions.

Male-model-tier guys generally aren't fucking a 5/10 woman.

As someone who's always done well with women but isn't model tier, I can tell you there's no reason for him to consider it. Based on my tinder data, I swiped right a little under 3% and matched about 22% of the time I swiped right. It was probably similar on other apps, but I never downloaded my data. That gave me more than enough matches to literally always have multiple casual sex options available.

These were all conventionally attractive women who I was genuinely attracted to. Maybe 90% of my matches didn't just want casual, but the 10% who did allowed for multiple options per week. There was absolutely no reason for me to consider an average 50th percentile woman at any point. And I'm no male model. I'm tall and in shape, which matters on dating apps, but a truly male model tier "Chad" would likely do far better than my 22% match rate and have even more options.

Caveat is I live in a large city. A small town with limited dating app users is a different game. And obviously there are outliers. Some men have fat fetishes, which is why BBW porn is a thing. A subset of those men might be attractive, so yes, average and below women are their preference. But setting aside the outliers, model-tier guys aren't fucking average women.
