I was reading the responses to this article on 2XC to see how they would react. Most of the women were pretty open-minded about the whole thing and didn't see anything wrong with it.

One woman gave some insight into the motivations a woman might have to use such a site:

The dress isn't nice enough for the Philharmonic? He'll buy one. He needs a date to the $100 ballet? You're coming. He's hungry for pasta? You both eat a modest amount at a place where the bill totals $120.

Money like this I'd probably end up using to travel, invest, or use to save up for an Manhattan (or trendy / safe BK) apartment (studio rent is $2000+), too. I'm sure these girls -- evaluated to be "intelligent" -- probably have their own greater motives for the money. While some probably need the money to live in the city, others probably realise they'll need the money later.

This is a contrast to my life in college when I was eating chili straight out of a can and selling any possession of value that I had to make ends meet. I wasn't totally poor, and my family certainly helped me out when they could, but experiencing the high-class culture and saving up for a trendy apartment was the furthest thing from my mind - I just wanted to eat and be able to buy textbooks and some clothes.
