Feminism is the one thing in our political discourse that isn't allowed to be criticized, even among the most radical, critical parts of the population. This is sometimes explicitly stated. If there truly is a "third rail" in Western civilization, it's most definitely feminism. You criticize it, you're done. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, given Banksy's extremely high degree of positive regard.

I think the distinction /u/JGH8763 is making is between organizations and groups of people. There are many groups of people you can't criticize, but virtually every organization is up for criticism.

I'm not entirely sure I agree with him - the LGBT rights movement is, while not as sacrosanct as feminism, pretty far up there. And there are (obviously) places where you can criticize feminism safely.

But I can't think of any organizations that are as unattackable as feminism is, and honestly, I can't think of any that are even close.

Its so ironic, most of reddit loves to automaticly judge someone that doesnt believe homosexuality is right. Because being intolerant of other peoples beliefs is wrong....

It just isn't ok for me to say I don't think homosexuality is a good thing. I don't care really. Get a gay wedding and have gay babies together - idgaf. But that isn't even good enough that I would vote for gay marriage. I'm suppose to literally alter my personal logic to fit in with that of a gay person. I'm a horrible guy.

Among the left, aspects of minority movements can be criticized, but once you touch feminism, the conversation changes into what an asshole you are. This has just been my experience talking with people among the left, specifically the radical left, for many years. Race and other things are sensitive issues, but feminism is by far the most untouchable. Nothing will get you attacked and publicly shamed more.

I know you didn't say that. I'm pointing out that I'm sure what the person you replied to wasn't saying it was literally the only thing. I agree with him that its one of the only mainstream ideologies that you can't criticize.

I used that sentence to show that there is an obvious difference in categories between race (or comparably gender, hence my women =/= feminism comment) and sociopolitical ideologies.

After reading that I can honestly say I've never hated women. I hate the feminist narrative. Too many exclamation marks, too many double standards, and so many exclamation marks. Did I say that twice? Yeah! I did!

It my understanding that women, all throughout human history, have been ~50% of the population. It's almost a discredit to women that it took them thousands of years to figure out they were being oppressed.

The Dr. Seuss example is interesting. Women have had the right to vote now in the US for 94 years now. How many elections, local and federal, have passed since then? Many. You'd think a group of people that is 50% of the population would be interested in electing people "of their own kind" would be able to elect more of their own kind. But how many women have been elected over those 94 years? Certainly not anywhere near ~50%. Hell, I'd be willing to bet, just off the top of my head, it's <5%-10%. So either women like and prefer men in charge (RP theory), or that almost all women harbor internalized misogyny (feminist theory) or women are so stupid and disorganized as a group they can't do anything (misogyny theory). Maybe it's all three in equal parts, or maybe it's just one. "Internalized misogyny" seems to me to operate on the same level as when a prayer that a Christian prays doesn't happen and it's explained away with, "Well, God works in mysterious ways". It's a nice little plug of logic that seals up the fact that they might actually be wrong about the vast majority of women dealing and operating withing a system without the need for help from the Ivory tower of feminism.

If feminism = equality then feminism is denying women their female freedom and so it's oppressing women, since it's forcing women to accept "feminism = equality" against their female will, or it's not recognizing the female freedom to accept other different clauses than " feminism = equality ". Banksy has massive SMV and could go about his business with women the EXACT same way he always does. But because he has outed himself as anti-feminist, it has destroyed the "hamster deniability" these women had set up.

Basically, all these women who previously subjected themselves to Banksy's previously "RP" behavior no longer can rationalize it because they now realize what he is and that he has power over them. When in actions, its fine. But once you verbalize it, that upsets them and makes them FURIOUS at themselves. But they take it out on the man for "making them" do it.

This lingo does more harm than good. I'm very familiar with red pill concepts in common or academic terms, but the dumb e-lingo often confuses even me and generally obfuscates significant concepts. It's also nerdy and lame, as is virtually all internet forum lingo.

Also, Banksy hasn't outed himself as an anti-feminist. Being critical of something isn't being anti-.

Oh okay, cool. Well, the idea of post-hoc rationalization is supported by the work of Dan Gilbert, if you're interested.

Some people call the machinations that produce a rationalization a "hamster" because it's amusing to imagine the brain running but not going anywhere, like a hamster on a wheel.

Since the purpose of this process is to rationalize, rather than to face, underlying instinctive motivations for behavior, /u/TRPsubmitter used the word "deny" but that word was perhaps superfluous.

People respond to instincts which they perceive as vague feelings. Banksy's former actions produced positive feelings of attraction, but his facebook post did not. People (or in this case specifically, women) explain their behavior not as a result of instinct but as a result of rational processes. People deny their true motivations.

Having a good vocabulary isn't nerdy and lame. Creating your own special lingo for your own special club - that is. It's like the pick-up lingo. You can easily replace every term with an everyday term that people actually understand. Every academic and non-academic specialization has lingo particular to that domain. FYI, this isn't Spanish, and as such, we don't have a Real Academy. He didn't make the graffiti was my point. I have taken pictures of racist graffiti, funny sexist graffiti, etc. It's a picture of something someone else made. Comment all you like on what the graffiti says, but it isn't "by" Banksy.

I love the comment "Feminism is Humanism." No, its not, and to say that it is suggests that you don't know what either term means.

Feminism is a social construct that seeks to forward a "women's agenda" (they are now one of the largest swing voting blocks) while humanism is both a philosophy of rationalism (seeks only rational solutions) and ethics in which all humans are both primary and EQUAL moral actors. The feminist narrative of the perpetual victim hood of women and corruptness in men stands in direct contrast with this.

As a side note humanism posits that all people have the potential for moral goodness even, GASP, men.

Your hatred is misplaced; feminism is simply the latest manifestation of biologically intrinsic dread that is native to the female gender of our species. The only difference is for thousands of years when women acted irrationally or like children, they were ignored, or left to starve and die without a man's protection. "Old" feminism was indeed about fairly fundamental rights. Like /u/Mechanik_J said, what we face now are the consequences of our ancestors' actions which triggered this accelerating change. Like much of life, it's simply a joke in poor taste. Meh, there's a lot of quality content here, especially on /r/AlreadyRed. I generally agree with red pills traditionalism, respect for moral pragmatism, and societal dissection.

Most women, no, people in our society act based on what is accepted, what they can get away with, and what makes them feel good. As the society degrades, so too does the quality of the person within it.

If they were delusional, I would pity them, but due to their expectations being widespread, they will actually get all of those things they feel entitled to and that's fine. Why should I begrudge them for expecting and receiving the social norm?

I'm not even attracted to "submissive" women. I'm glad 50 Shades of Grey made so many women think they can come out with their weird power fantasies. Just lets me know to stay away from them.

I'm not 'hating' on western women because of dating - I'm speaking generally on how they treat so many men like absolute garbage, just because they don't give them the 'tingles'. You can watch certain women in public and the way they treat men of which they perceive could give them no immediate value for themselves. The look on their face can only be attributed to the same look one would give an insect.

It's really nasty and I'm not into it, I am 100% not attracted to the typical western woman. Third wave feminist womyn - whatever you want to call it.

I read through most of those comments and was astounded at the stark difference between the way "feminists" (both male and female) argued, versus the way the non-feminists argued.

Any time a non-feminist refuted a feminist point, the non-feminist stated clear, specific examples pointing out why the feminist point was inaccurate or hypocritical. However, not a single feminist did that one single time. They instead resorted to name-calling and, of course, labeling the non-feminist as "sexist" immediately.

The lack of any ability to argue for feminism in any logical way was unbelievable. I've always understood that feminists disregard logical/rational debate, but this thread actually lowered my opinion of the movement even further. Embarrassing.
