CNN should have titled this article, Girl Wants School to Convict Ex-Boyfriend of Rape Without Any Evidence.

[–][deleted] 78 points79 points80 points 12 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

..."with all evidence pointing to the contrary."

[–]2insickness 79 points80 points81 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

"I'm not sure I would've come forward if all these people hadn't done it before me," Espinosa said. "I needed the validation."

She needed to feel better about herself after he dumped her.

Women like guys that other women like; they like activities that other women like.

[–]AllYouCanEatRedPills 31 points32 points33 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

....false rape accusations are just the trendy thing to do these days!

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I wonder if they get any academic benefits for false rape claims? Like that movie where if your room mate dies you get an automatic A or something.

Might that be her motive for a false accusation? Her grades are in the toilet so she makes up a rape story so all her professors in womyn's studies (most likely) will take pity on her and give her better grades?

[–]2wiseclockcounter 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It seemed like that's exactly what she was doing. "her voice quivered as she explained how she was forced to drop out of one class and request an incomplete for another." Zero accountability.

Next issue of Cosmo: "10 crazy ways you can convince people he raped you. Everyone will take your side without question!"

You may have just hit upon something here... I can't really think of many instances where women actually do things without seeking approval from others. I guess this is where hamstering comes from.

Validation can also mean recognition, acceptance and attention. A girl mentions the word rape then expects to be treated far better than anyone reporting any other type of crime and expects the school and state to convict the guy without any evidence. She expects special privilege simply for being a woman. A culture that validates unethical behavior like this is pathetic.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No she spent five months watching him get laid elsewhere, got mad about it, moaned to a kangaroo court that essentially found her to be lying (That's how I interpret 'your claims are unsubstantiated'). In her failure she just pushes some other non related infraction to put him on academic probation.

Girls, if you have to spend five months wondering if you were sexually assaulted. You weren't.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The relationship came to an end in February 2013. The next month, Espinosa filed a sexual harassment claim against her former boyfriend with her school

So no, no 5 months lapse.

Still I'm left to wonder. If it was abuse and coercion yet without any physical violence nor threat of it, why did she stay in that relationship for 3 years ? How do feminists and manginas make sense of this ?

the poor guy was still placed on academic probation.

He was really lucky that Espinoza is very honest. She just could have said that he forced her, that once she did not yield and he overpowered her. Game over.

You know, women are always believed because they never lie about rape.

Amazing she did not say this. Maybe she can still change her mind and remember that she had forgotten about this one case.

Sorry for mentioning this. I hope she does not read this.

Good point, I think a lot of folks on here like to blame feminism for all these problems, but what it really boils down to is men not being men.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

what it really boils down to is men not being men.

except that fathers are prevented by feminist laws from playing their roles in educating girls and boys

i believe that the MRM is happening because we've seen 2 generations of children raised under feminist laws, i.e. by moms wearing the pants

1969 - 2005 = 36 years = 1.5 generations.

The breaking point is being reached because we're already the casualties of feminism and the current younger gen is refusing to perpetuate the abuse that's already been meted on their parents and on themselves.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree, men have definitely reached the breaking point and society is going to begin it's final decomposition as a result. Women, however, are doing fine but will quickly realize how much they need men and that singing the praises of feminism is not benefiting them in the least bit.

[–]srtor 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well modern men are the "end result" of the problem. When feminism (or women lib whatever you call it) happened, society (social norm, values whatever) try to find something to blame for not doing enough (for women). And 'modern men' was put into guillotine. Now society demanded that they treat, obey, surrender to women will/position etc, and if you don't you are labelled women hater, misogynist etc. Slowly the shift was in making from Patriarchy to Matriarchy. Women slowly took over.

[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Modern men are the problem, really.

The lowest common denominator of men (with disposable income) has been the problem for a long time; prostitution, strippers, etc., are IMO symptoms of men who -- though they may be (somewhat) successful financially -- are too dim-witted/closed-minded to expand their scope and instead settle for (and/or rely upon) a girl that'll suck your cock for cash up-front, artificially raising the value (monetarily, emotionally, physically, culturally, politically) of sex(ual activities) much more than is realistic.

[–]3trplurker 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This is dumb as fuck.

Prostitution has been going on since the first hairy female proto-human snuggled up to a hairy male proto-human in exchange for staying in his cave and sharing some of his kill. Trying to equate it to something only "lesser" men then yourself do is bullshit. Some of the most testosterone charged businessmen on the planet prefer to use prostitutes over chasing skirts because it's better value for their time and money. And I'm in perfect agreement with them, once you get past a certain point career wise it's no longer reasonable to chase girls as your time is worth more then the cost of a high end "escort". Hell I'm already beginning to see that happening myself, I no longer have the time / energy to go out and meet tons of girls like I used to and I'm not nearly as successful as these other guys are.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If you're chasing girls, you're doing it wrong.

Paying for a prostitute is very short-sighted* : it requires no self-improvement (Have money? Will fuck) and develops no real-world skills (unless you're learning how not to suck at sex -- but if you're past your 30s and struggling with that, there's probably a lot more than just prostitution that's derailing your life); if you legitimately feel your energy is so low you must rely on prostitutes, I offer my sympathies -- but man the fuck up: don't let your thirst prevent you from learning how to dig a well.

* - This may be desirable in some circumstances but becoming reliant on this system is both detrimental to personal progress and social capacity re: non-hooker women. See also: men that spend too much time with porn.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

On the other hand, a man dying of thirst doesn't dig a well as well as a man who was dying of thirst until he drank from a passersby's canteen before starting to dig a well. I've never done it and can't speak from personal experience but there's gotta be some value to breaking a long dry spell.

[–]3trplurker 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He's being an idiot.

Prostitution is the most honest exchange you can have. No bullshit games, no her trying to manipulate you, no cheating, just your money for her sex.

The saying goes, "You don't pay a prostitute for sex, you pay her to leave afterwards".

Fucking girls isn't hard, it's actually quite easy. The annoying part is all the shit that happens after you fuck her. Maintaining women is time and money, even if your the most alpha 6'4, 220 lbs of raw muscle, billionaire doctor genius pilot, with a 14 inch cock who looks like a modern version of a greek god, women are still going to give you drama, it's in their nature to always give you drama. The higher your value the more drama she's gonna create as her way of manipulating you.

For men who are actually doing important shit. Where their time is, quite literally, money in the bank, wasting that time on stupid bitch's is financially dumb. They didn't get where they are by doing dumb shit or by wasting time. You can always get more money, you can never get more time. To them, prostitutes (concubines in ancient terms) are a way to get the benefits of a relationship with gorgeous women without getting any of the negatives. He is paying her to leave him the fuck alone after sex.

I read this with complete astonishment. Is this what it's like in the USA? How can anybody take these sorts of "claims" seriously? I'm making a firm resolution to never try it on with a woman from the US. They're nuts, as are the authorities for indulging them.

[–]lookingatyourcock 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is not exclusive to the US at all. Canada and Finland too, and I would imagine others too, but these are the countries I have the most experience in.

[–]Siiimo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The police didn't think about taking it seriously. The school barely put any time into it. The journalist wrote about it because it gets him page views from postings like this. Nobody serious takes it seriously.

[–]RojoEscarlata 94 points95 points96 points 12 years ago (43 children) | Copy Link

I just read the first paragraph and had to drop it right there.

She claims that he never used force nor violence to have sex with her, and in the fucking same paragraph they said that she felt psychologicaly and physically coerced by him to fuck.

How can a "trusty" news source can contradict itself so fast is beyond me.

I literally stopped reading right there, what was this bitch after? If anyone care to fill me in.

[–]ibuprofiend 111 points112 points113 points 12 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

Nowadays you can "rape" a girl even if

  1. She doesn't say no

  2. She even says yes

  3. She doesn't resist in any way

  4. She actively encourages you to have sex with her

Rape has become synonymous with sex that a girl regrets. (Which is why the only sure way of avoiding rape allegations is to be significantly more attractive than the girl, which kinda ruins things anyway.)

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

I never do really drunk hookups because of this if I have just met the person.

Like last weekend: met a girl I had met just once two years prior, and she has me come back to her place - not mine. Fuck that, though, I don't do anything on a first night where she is even drunker than I am (and I was fucking deeee-runk). Sometimes you miss out on a night of sex because the girl only wanted the one night (like happened to me this time) but let's be straight with each other, super-drunk sex isn't the best anyways. If she's up to meeting up at the bars or somewhere else a second time, go for it. But after my experiences in my first year of university, I don't do drunk first nights anymore. Too risky for me, although I guess I'm just unlucky.

[–]ibuprofiend 21 points22 points23 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

College is where chicks learn this too. The other day I overheard some girls planning a sex ed thing for freshman, and I couldn't believe the shit I was hearing. I wanted to ask them, Is there any physical interaction between a man and a woman that isn't rape??? By feminist logic there isn't, and the girl gets to decide what reality is. That way sluts always have an escape plan in case people start "slut shaming" them.

Plus my school is doing the Vagina Monologue on fucking Valentine's Day. Yep, we're letting lesbian misandrists commandeer Valentine's Day. Not that I think Valentine's Day is great or anything, but it's certainly representative of the traditions we're rapidly losing because of feminism.

It's terrifying that these universities are molding the minds of the next generation.

[–]TRP VanguardYouDislikeMyOpinion 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Some feminists consider all PIV sex as rape. Literally all of it. No I am not joking.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So some feminists engage in rape... Or they're lesbians. I'm guessing the latter...unless you know a sufficiently hot dude with lots of money shows interest in them.

[–]Clbull 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My university has recently banned Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines from being played in the campus bar because of its references to 'rape culture.'

I would have preferred it if they used the excuse "Because it's shit and overplayed."

[–]ibuprofiend 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That dude is fucking brilliant though... Stirring up the feminists increased his visibility a thousand times. I had never even heard of the guy before, but now that he has this "controversial" song he's one of the most famous people in America.

[–]2wiseclockcounter 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The story I heard from my friends mother (who loved the video, haha. She kept saying how cute the girls were and how the nudity faded from focus once you enjoyed their goofy dancing.) was that Robin Thicke has actually been pumping out quality music for a really long time, but his wife or this edgy female music video producer was like, alright I'm taking the reigns, we're getting you fucking noticed. So it was a woman's idea.

Nope, Pitt. As a big public research school, we're normally pretty sane, but every one in awhile there's a slut march or something

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

super-drunk sex isn't the best anyways

It's hard to remember this when you're drunk and horny, but it's so fucking true. You're all dehydrated and tired, but it takes like an hour to cum if you cum at all, and then maybe if you're both really drunk and stupid the condom comes off. A night of really drunken sex with a stranger always leaves me more freaked out about a VD than anything else. I've managed to turn down drunken sex several times now and have never had a regret about it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yep. I turn down a surprising amount of drunk sex (relative to how much I go out), it actually makes me wonder if I should be going for it. Then I remember what the morning-afters had been like, and I remember that I'm better off having not gone for it. If the girl is up for meeting up again, she only wants it that much more. Worth it, imo.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And let's not forget the possibility that maybe you don't want to meet up again the next morning... My taste in women can be atrocious when I'm drunk. It's funny to wake up next to a wildebeast every now and then when you're in your early twenties, but that shit gets old eventually.

Which is why the only sure way of avoiding rape allegations is to be significantly more attractive than the girl, which kinda ruins things anyway.

Doubt it. If the guy is too attractive, the girl feels hurt and worthless because other girls are now dating/fucking him, and she'll cry rape just because it's the only option left.

[–]2wiseclockcounter 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's rape if she feels like it is. Even if she feels this only hours or years after the fact.

To the defense of this story, she claims to having felt it during the act.

[+]meowlolcats -14 points-13 points-12 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No.

She did not claim that he never used force or violence.

She said that he didn't pin her down, or threaten violence. That doesn't exclude the possibility of other types of physical and psychological coersion. It is so annoying to see this type of willful ignorance or stretching of the truth to support twisted views of the world and/or women being against men and that it's all one-sided and there aren't any men that do anything wrong or some bullshit like that.

Just because he didn't beat the shit out of her, doesn't mean he was a good guy. Maybe she's a lying cunt. We don't know. We barely have any information. But don't twist what little information we do have to support your agenda. There are plenty of shitty people out there, both male and female. It's fucked up to use this as ammo for your male crusade when she might well have been very seriously fucked with for what she claims was most of 3 years. We don't know.

As men it's easy to look down on them as say "man the fuck up. don't ever let someone fuck with you like that" and look down on them when they don't. i'm sure it's not as easy to stand up for yourself when as a woman, you physically can't do shit, and proving a case in court is an uphill battle. According to her, "She resisted, told him no, pushed him away. More often than not, he persisted and she gave in". Most of us can't imagine ever being in a scenario anything close to that.

yeah, if he was fucking with her, she should have left him immediately or pulled a knife out or whatever, so maybe she's pathetic and a coward, etc. That doesn't mean she deserves to be treated like shit though. Those are the people in society that are the most likely to be taken advantage of. Of course the waters get very muddy when there are also people that lie and use accusing someone of raping them as a weapon to get back at someone, but that doesn't mean we should just assume that the only victims are men. It's fucking stupid how everyone in here is jumping on this anti woman bandwagon assuming that she's lying and making shit up, when really we have no fucking idea.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We aren't claiming this guy is a good guy or some shit. In fact, he was probably a piece of shit. However, she is adding to a plague that is the watering down of what constitutes as "rape". Many people are raped everyday and they are usually hacked to death afterwards in third world country somewhere. Rape is a horrible and disgusting thing. 1st world women not taking responsibility for their own shitty decisions (like drinking too much and dating an asshole for 3 years) is an absolute abomination and disgrace to all the people who have REAL hardships in the world. That in and of itself is disgraceful and disgusting.

Furthermore, if the incidents of "rape" were as traumatic as we are to believe, then the idea of her not taking action for 3 fucking years is ludicrous. Fuck all that bullshit about being scared, this is a living, breathing, and functioning human being. She's not a girl stuck with two kids in some fucking trailer with her husband abusing her every night, she's a fucking college student. All this removal of accountability is absolutely ridiculous and frankly embarrassing. Actual rape is fucking traumatic. Women who have been forcibly raped are so scarred that being touched by human beings can incite horrific bouts of trauma. I know plenty of women who have been "raped" when they drank too much who don't even think about it anymore. I file what this girl went through as below even that experience.

There's no bandwagon here and there's a pretty good reason why. We are to believe that she was actually forcibly fucked by her boyfriend for three years in spite of her protests, he was actually a cocksucker, and she was so spineless and weak that she couldn't file a restraining order on him after any of the numerous possible dates during this three year time period? Yeah that sound really likely and in the even that it IS true, then fuck her. She doesn't deserve sympathy, help, or another human's fucking breath. Weakness of such a profound caliber is vile and not a fucking social issue when there are strong people going through actual hardships.

No. She did not claim that he never used force or violence.

She said that he didn't pin her down, or threaten violence

Hard to argue with that logic.

Re read my post, and tell me when I said she was lying? Don't get me wrong, I do believe she was lying, but didn't stated as a fact, it comment on it since I don't know the details.

My only point is that if her argument is as stupidly presented as the article and your comment, then she or most likely lying.

The verbal gymnastics you need to do to make what women say is rape seem like what rape actually is has become so absurd you could break your legs just thinking about it for too long.

Only someone completely devoid of any world view and sense of fairness could possibly believe that blurring of the definition of rape could be anything other than the blatant detriment to society that it is. Victim-blaming assholes can't hold a candle to the immeasurable damage to actual rape victims that these kinds of silly bitches do by sodomizing the definition of rape so thoroughly to fit their own personal agendas that it beggars belief.

It speaks volumes that I as a man who considers rape an appalling crime now by default do not believe a woman who says it happened to her until evidence is presented to the contrary.

What they have done is added an extra element to the mix that will stop actual victims from getting help. It's no longer a matter of whether you believe her or not: it's whether you believe she knows what rape actually is.

When someone, a man or a woman, saves another human being's life with complete disregard to their own well-being, you call that person a hero or a heroine. They acted heroically. When you start calling people wearing a military uniform a hero for doing so, you devalue that word. The real, genuine heroes are no longer respected like they deserve to be.

When a woman is held down and brutally raped, she is a rape victim. When you start calling women who didn't like that the boy they let into their pants hasn't called them in three days a rape victim, or women that don't like that their ex found a better girl a rape victim, or women who are happy to be freaks in bed until their friends find out about it a rape victim, you devalue that word. Actual rape victims suffer because of it.

^ Dead On. This post should be framed and mounted.

I mean there's a statistic floating around out there that almost half of all accusations are false. How the hell do you expect women who have been really raped to even come forward when people think that there's an almost 50/50 chance she's lying.

The truth of the matter is when women make all these false accusations the only one they are hurting is women. It's like the boy who cried wolf... cry rape enough times and nobody is going to come running to your defence.

My school used to be an all male private one. Mostly ex soldiers after service. There was and is still a ton of rape hysteria and we're known as the local rapey college imo due to our all male past though a critical look at the nunbers doesnt support that. When hysteria is how one draws conclusions, reason is hidden and people justify their crazy by going after other things, like guilt by association, racism, gender, etc.

I don't really see how deferring to local police is supposed to HELP the image of a university as you suggest. Instead it would appear that they are shirking responsibility.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The most depressing part of my day was realizing that it isn't. Idk the hopeful scientist in me really wants people who aren't idiots to breed. Just in the event that society gets some kind of chance to fix the idiotic bullshit that fills it. It's just my personal view on the subject and I think that if you do take the red pill to heart, then you will be able to equip yourself with the tools to spot red flags and not lose your life in the process of breeding.

I am on the red pill to learn, not to give up.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I understand the desire to have those who are well, superior, to breed as opposed to the current situation where it's primarily the morons who are breeding. However, doing so (unless they are rather wealthy) means destroying their lives in the process, which is rather foolish.

I think that if you do take the red pill to heart, then you will be able to equip yourself with the tools to spot red flags and not lose your life in the process of breeding.

What does being RP have to do with the fact that kids consume a lot of time and money, not to mention the destruction they normally cause to the girl's body?

[–]imarcink 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The destruction of the female body is one of my big reasons for never wanting children with a woman.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You make a strong point as to the unavoidable disadvantages of kids and finding a woman to make said kids. However, I would argue its a matter of preference. Don't get me wrong here, I love being young and on the continuous climb to better myself. However, I would have to say that I would like an endpoint to it all. I gotta get old eventually and I would prefer to do it with a good woman and a couple of kids. The red pill has given me an extremely powerful tool in spotting insane cunts. I want a family like my grandfather and my dad had. I think TRP is a good way to do that.

Besides my dick is going to stop working at some point so I should probably at least have some plan to deal with not just fucking women.

Be fair now, she's a girl, after all. The way I see it, one of two things occurred.

1) She couldn't get anything better back then, and she can now. She thinks her former bf was a terrible catch, and cries rape to rationalize her supposedly poor judgement in the past

2) She got dumped, and can't get anything better now. She cries rape to realize a status boost (this desirable guy raped me so I am now desirable).

Basically, either she's getting absolved of poor status in the past, or poor status in the present.

Guys really need to understand that ALL women can be like that. Every last one of them views men as disposable. Social conditioning has limited that to some degree in some cultures, but otherwise ever female human is the same in this regard. The moment you are no longer of value to her is when she'll cease to view you as human.

I would argue that it's more this new wave feminist bullshit that allows women to escape to the role of the "victim". It allows them to rationalize all guilt by the virtue that THEY were actually being wronged. It's fucking ridiculous

[–]3trplurker 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Except women have been acting that way for the past five thousand years of recorded history, and probably did so long before we started keeping records.

Feminism didn't change women, women were always this way. Feminism just allowed them to reveal who they are without fear of consequence.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well for the most ancient populations of our species, we were just organisms trying to achieve maximum survivability. Still playing the old natural selection game, so the tendency to view other individuals in terms of their use is not unique to just women. However, women have been notably less capable of developing systems of honor that governed male culture throughout the ages and that's with good reason due to their highly emotional nature fueled by estrogen.

I would say there was a point in history where female social integrity became roughly equal to its male equivalent, but it was poisoned by feminism.

[–]3trplurker 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I would say there was a point in history where female social integrity became roughly equal to its male equivalent, but it was poisoned by feminism.

Never happened.

Feminism is new, really new, like a century or so old. Evolution takes much longer then that to happen. Thousands of years for micro-evolution, and hundreds for anything bigger.

Our current biology is about 200,000 ~ 400,000 years old. That's before written language, before all but the most basic spoken language.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This bitch is acting like she's jesus on the fucking cross because her boyfriend convinced her to have sex even though she really didn't want to?

What I'm picking up from her testimony is that she expected to get something out of the relationship. She willingly submitted to "coercion and abuse" over 3 long years in order to get something out of it otherwise she could just have walked out, as she has being nice enough to specify that he didn't use violence nor threats of violence.

So it's safe to assume that she stayed with him out of her own decision and sense of perceived self-interest. When the relationship ended, she did a simple sum calculation and concluded she had been robbed, then and only then did she call the whole thing rape.

So I'm assuming that what we have here is a whore who called rape because her John didn't pay her. She's a huge manhater who hoped to get back at her "abuser" somehow through the normal relationship dynamics, but when she failed she turned to the social authorities to achieve that end. And she's getting the expected benefit from her abusive relationship all right, through fame, attention and recognition.

I mean if you don't want abuse, why are you getting it ? Usual abusive relationships happen when the abuser prevents the abusee from leaving, keeping him or her under control and dependency and attacking their self esteem and personal strengths to make them unable to leave. But that's not what she's gone through or else it would have been labeled as such since then.

What we apparently have then is someone, that girl who stayed in a relationship that she felt was abusive without her being coerced by her boyfriend into staying with her. So yeah, what was she expecting to get out of this deal ? Because she could have ended it at any time. If you can't define the means that have been used to abuse and coerce you, well guess what, maybe you weren't being abused nor coerced. Maybe you were doing it to yourself because you wanted to get something out of it. But when you realized you weren't getting it, then you called it abuse and coercion and went to file a complaint.

TL;DR Manhating whore didn't get payed, filed rape.

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points30 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

No, he hadn't pinned her down, or threatened violence.

He persisted and she gave in "just to get it over with," she says.

Admits consenting to sex

"Rape"

You see this, feminists? You see this SRS and the Blue Pill? This is why people recoil from the word "feminist" and terms like "rape culture". This is why people think twice when a woman comes forward and says she was raped. This is why we ask, "Was she lying?" This article right here is your "rape culture". Because when women like this use a false accusation as a weapon, it becomes impossible for any rational person to fully believe the next one who comes along and says the same thing.

[–]causack 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a strange read for me, and ill tell you why.

A couple years ago I got out of these really bad relationship. I was super depressed after the breakup, and was talking to my friend about it over facebook. He had been my friend since childhood, so we went way back. His house was just a couple blocks from mine, and he told me to come over if I needed to talk. So I did, not expecting what would happen next. Next thing I knew I was ushered into his bedroom, with all the doors closed. Still at this point, I wasnt thinking of him as a threat, because he was a childhood friend. I was in tears and talking about my relationship, and thats when he started to make moves. I was shocked and I said no...but he literally blocked the doors and would not let me leave. I said no for long time, and he became more and more aggressive, but I'm pretty sure that at some point he had been accused of rape before (not to my knowledge at the time) and knew what he was "supposed" to do and say to get me to do what he wanted. He would not let me leave, and he would be on top of me on his bed. I got up many times to go but he would run and make sure i couldnt get out. I never said yes... but I did eventually stop saying no... and I cried during.

Now when this happened, I didnt want to be the self victimizing girl, but I really did feel violated. I didnt tell anyone till way later, where my friend consoled me and said that I was raped, truthfully I still am not sure. And its because of cases like these. The just "giving in to sex" and considering that as rape? As soon as this happened to me I immediatley felt violated, and I knew not to go back there or see him. I knew that he was forcing me to have sex, through these loopholes and tricks like im going to make you stay here till you say yes and consent so I didn't go back and confront him, because I knew what to expect from him.

Truthfully, maybe Im being a total bitch, but I do not believe for one second that this girl went through what I went through. I can't say that without feeling like a bitch though, because in the back of my head im wondering if she go through what I did. Truthfully, whether what happened to me was rape or not, it was traumatic. But i really cant believe that she would do this for 3 WHOLE YEARS As soon as that incident happened to me I felt absolutley violated. It was a one time situation that came completley out of the blue, it took me by complete surprise, and I avoided him afterwards, I didnt speak to him or anything. I didn't want to be a part of it. If he was my boyfriend, you bet your ass I would have confronted him after the first time in happened (in a public space of course, where I couldn't be trapped again.)

I dont believe that this girl was raped. Just because she said no at first doesn't mean there was a violation I feel like there has to be some accountability on her part, for letting this go on for 3 years. I dont think this can be called victim blaming considering we dont know if she is a victim or not....and voluntarily letting it go on for 3 years, I just dont think that sounds even remotely right. The fact that we immediatley have to blame the guy in the situation before we are accused of "victim blaming" is absolutley absurd. Theres being uncomfortable with sex, and going about it in a wary and shy way, and then giving into curiosity, or just giving in to indifferece, and just being annoyed and getting it over with. But rape?

I feel like, rape should FEEL wrong. I felt like what happened to me was a violation, even if its not considered rape. I would never be caught in that situation again, because I knew what to expect from him. If I went back I literally would be putting myself in a situation, that I knew how it was going to end up. You know, feminsts will talk about women's intuition till their blue in the face, where's this ones? Did she really feel like something was wrong these three years she was having sex with her boyfriend? If there was something wrong, did she speak up appropriatley? Did she confront HIM beore going to the police? I don't know, maybe I'm being a dick about this... but I feel this is a complete bullshit claim. This isnt victim blaming because it cant be proven that she is a victim. The world is an imperfect place. I dont know. I don't know if I'm being too cold hearted or not.

She'd voluntarily have herself committed for a few years, but then later decide that they forced her to live there and sue them. Probably successfully.

Heres the reality gentlemen women through girl power feel they have given away their only ace card...Pussy. So now to get their power back they call us all rapists. To hell with white knight fuckery let their powerful vag be their shield. I refuse to protect people who would jeopardize my liberty and reputation.

An important note, the concept from the solomon II archives.

When women bring up a topic like this to you, and they will, agree completely. Isn't that terrible, how awful, it must be so hard to be a woman.

You're not changing any minds, you're looking like an asshole. With the media and society pushing bullshit like this, all you can do is look like a misogynistic asshole.

I don't change my opinions based on the person I'm talking to...However, I will ignore the shit out of them. This avoids the shitstorm she was blowing your way AND you keep your balls. Win/win.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't know man. This is so institutional that it's not even considered an opinion anymore, a lot of schools and jobs consider it fact that the girl's word is law. There's definitely something to be said for sticking to your guns, but there's also no easier way to get a room angry at you than to say you think a lot of assault accusations are fallacious, just as there's no easier way to get a room full of girls to think you're considerate. It's not giving in, it's agreeing and amplifying

[–]HitlersCow 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh no, you're right. Opening your mouth is a guaranteed crucifixion. However, the best way to win that argument IMO is to not have it in any capacity at all - maybe just a properly placed chuckle.

I think agreeing and amplifying in this case would make you seem a desperate white knight.

Like, what would you even say? "We shouldn't stop at ____, eye-rape should be internationally recognized and prosecuted?" What about Poe's law? I think the best way to handle a conversation like that is to not have it.

The real story isn't that a girl tried to get away with calling this rape- trp teaches that a woman will always try to get her way +1, but that cnn, the most trusted name in news not only published her story but led with it. That should tell you about the state of affairs in America.

"Yes, he was her boyfriend. No, he hadn't pinned her down, or threatened violence. But Espinosa insists that he coerced her, psychologically and physically, into having sex against her will for most of their three-year relationship."

Does anyone know the facts to this case? A quick Google search reveals nothing. The mystery of how you can coerce without violence or threats can't be solved unless her specific claims are actually examined.

Maybe he was just using game, and this is an attempt to "shine a light on" and possibly criminalize a "nefarious manipulative practice."

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It sounds like this girl felt she was in an abusive relationship and failed to act accordingly until it was too late -- at which point she tried to externalize the problem.

The funniest (saddest?) part is she expected the university to serve as her white knight -- how childish. Seeking support is reasonable; seeking revenge is not.

Manhood Academy handles women that claim in-relationship rape really well. Basically it doesn't exist, relationship = consent.

articles like these make me glad i quit college. complete waste of time and a land mine trap. the demand for prostitutes will increase with this kind of shit...mark my word

[–]ScannerSloppy 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Until the prostitutes cry rape, which they already do. Society just doesn't take rape of prostitutes seriously- yet.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They'll only cry rape if you pay extra for it... or if you stiff them.

That's why I'm afraid of ever losing my virginity in a one night stand of consensual, no-strings-attached sex.

The possibility of the girl feeling regretful (perhaps because she was tipsy and I wasn't actually as attractive as originally thought or because she has a boyfriend and he found out) then crying rape to cover up what she did at my expense is actually a realistic possibility; even a baseless accusation can ruin one's life.

"hey let me put my phone on silent"

record audio

then make sure you have a good post-coital conversation on tape and send a happy follow up about how you had a great time.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Then arrested/sued for recording someone without consent. lol

[–]boydeer 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i'd rather crush a bitch in court proving she's a liar and then take her over a somewhat less politicized and unequal portion of the legal code.

EDIT: and honestly, if i can prove to my friends that she's a liar, that would be great too.

[–]LegalPusher 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That would only come up if you were accused of rape. I think I know which I'd rather deal with.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

hahaha

At this point I honestly don't care anymore. The difference between asking too intensely and just plain fucking someone against their will is about as interesting as the difference between farting in the elevator and pressing the buttons in the wrong order. Interesting to some, and if it's your hobby that's nice for you, but let's keep our little hobbies to ourselves.
