Neither of these describe “women,” they describe certain tendencies of human beings which are normal in small amounts, and can be pathological if it’s too extreme in one individual.

I’d say some or many women have solipsistic tendencies, especially low empathy and a sub-consciously utilitarian view of low-status, low-value men.

They often describe the role of these men much like supporting characters in a movie, or NPCs in a video game. Particularly, needs, wants and desires are projected on to these men to reflect the needs, wants and desires of the woman herself, at the expense of plausible needs the man himself may actually have.

Example: Every woman ever who has single, heterosexual, thirsty male friends who allegedly have no desire to fuck them.

More importantly, however, women are generally, in my experience, incapable of transcending female nature.

Against all of my natural predispositions I can imagine life from the viewpoint of a snake, where I am an ugly, foul and wretched enemy, an ugly lump of skin and bones, or a delicious potential meal. Little snake offspring are my dearest treasures. I guard them with my life.

That is a simple act of transcending human nature. I temporarily move outside my natural dispositions and subjective viewpoint to consider the viewpoint of a being I do not very much empathize with, and that humans have naturally evolved to detest and fear.

I’ve rarely seen women do anything of the sort with low-value men, and men’s struggles. The result is often low consistency:

Rejecting gender roles, but then expecting men to come to women’s aid based on them. Seeing problems as systemic for women, but a matter of personal responsibility for men (relating to agency). Refusing to see their own massive role in maintaining so-called "toxic masculinity". Suggesting ways to behave for low-value men that will never be rewarded by women (i. e. don’t manspread, always ask for consent, relationships are built on communication and equality, do more chores and you will get more sex, etc.). Transplanting their own needs on to the needs of men. For example: Claiming that men are restrained by narrow gender roles (only to reward men who abide by these "narrow" gender roles with their pussy).

I do believe women have generally higher emotional empathy than men, but they are also generally more locked into subjective, emotionally invested viewpoints, often unable to see things in a detached, objective manner, or see things from the viewpoint of people who they are not naturally disposed to empathize with.

I think the two are different, but not necessarily unrelated.

I would argue that one can be Solipsistic without being a narcissist, but the reverse would not be true.

I would also argue that the Solipsism that RP states isn't the same as the textbook definition of solipsism

A great example I use is my wife after hearing about something bad on the news (solipsism):

"Omg I can't believe somebody would do x,y,z when they know it will upset people like me"

I think that trying to cage either men or women into a single group and making blatant generalizations about them is just silly. I've met plenty of both solipsistic and nacissistic people of both genders. I've met empathetic and self-sacrificing people of both genders.

Perhaps the difference is that, if wr talk about how we are socialized, women often get the message that their value is tied to how attractive they are - and therefore feel more pressure (or need) to showcase themselves as attractive. But I don't usually see it as an exercise in narcissism but something that has come to be expected.

A little of both, but let's not forget that this problem is exaggerated by the fact that men fail to censure women who behave like this. If men refused to date women who exhibited those traits there would be almost no women like that.

As is the case with a lot of the words you see a lot in RP theory, "solipsism" is a term of art. Your dictionary definition doesn't capture what is meant.

For RP theory, female solipsism is about the weird (to men) self-centeredness of women in every aspect of attraction. It is the notion that you --a man-- are completely "other" to a woman, and women don't attribute attractiveness to any aspect of the other. How attractive you are to a woman is only about how attractive her personal, particular, internal construct of who you are is. This "person" (it ain't a person, it's an idea) doesn't actually exist: It's literally in her head. This idea has attractiveness only inasmuch as "he" makes her feel a certain way. How can it be otherwise: "He's" actually non-existent!

You want to be attractive? Her idea of you has to be attractive. It doesn't matter what attractive features you--flesh-and-blood, concrete you---have. It matters how her perception of you makes her feel. Make her feel things = "you" are attractive. That's RP solipsism.

Sure, women can be narcissistic. So can men. Not really a concept or fact that matters for this definition.

No, absolutely not. If someone were truly solipsistic they would go insane and probably be a complete recluse from society. It's the belief that your mind is the only thing that's real and everything and everyone else is an illusion conjured up by your mind.

It's not rational and the average woman doesn't act in accordance to that belief. I think TRP is just wanting to call women selfish but trying to sound sophisticated. Selfishness and even being a sociopath doesn't make one solipsistic. You can believe that others' minds are real and still not give a shit about them.

As for narcissism, no. Most women have empathy. You could say they don't have that much empathy for young adult men but that's because they get turned off by male weakness. And yeah most of them do like to look good, partly because of social pressures, but that alone doesn't make a narcissist. I really dislike huge sweeping generalizations of 50% of the planet but if I had to describe the average woman with a phrase it would probably be "Normal human beings trying to find what will make them most happy/satisfied in life "

I don’t think the average woman is either. I think humans in general are insecure, and that many women’s attempts to gain self-esteem appear to be narcissistic. Men attempt to gain self-esteem through accomplishments traditionally. We are starting to see thing change, though, as more men are being obsessed with their appearance, while more women are becoming more obsessed with their accomplishments, but the basic pattern still seems to be the same.

As for solipsism, I think that women slowly begin to understand men as their need to attract a high quality man grows. Perhaps they lag behind men when it comes to understanding women, as the male thirst for sex and how to attain it from them often makes it more imperative for men to learn to understand women. However, I don’t think that women are solipsistic my nature and have the capability of understanding men just as well as men can understand women, although there is a propensity for more “feeling” types among women and more “thinking” types among men, I suppose.
