Of course not. Women’s sexuality being reactive means that women are less likely than men to become spontaneously aroused/sexually interested. It doesn’t mean a woman’s sexuality is a puppet to her male partner’s. It may mean that she wants to bang her coworker because he flirted with her first and her life is stressful and boring so she rationalizes a fling.

No BUT I will say some of the guys including myself who have been cheated on seem to not vet their partners and will be willfully ignorant to parade of red flags their girlfriends are putting on.

People are desperate for love and human affection so much they will subconsciously put their blinders on to preserve it. You see this all the time in subs like r/relationshipadvice and IRL. People asking, “is it weird my girlfriend had a sleepover with her best guy friend.”

I used to hate cheaters, I still do, but as I get older I’ve gained a little more disappointment in the people being cheated on, not all of them, just the ones that are blatantly ignoring red flags.

One of the reasons I never want to get married is I don't want to be responsible for another adults choices when I'm not present. My parents BOTH pulled the "you were shitty to me so I cheated" card and they were both shitty for that reason.

No, if a person of either gender cheats, it's the fault of the cheater, not the cheated. The cheater should have manned or womaned up and just broken up with their partner. That said, shit happens. A cheater may have been unhappy for a very long time and the cheating was spontaneous not planned. For example if you are LL and deadbedroomed your partner over a period of months or years with no effort to mitigate the situation, it's disingenuous for you to be shocked, SHOCKED that your partner gave in to temptation.

No, but in most cases I think men are willfully ignorant of their shortcomings in a relationship. It makes it easier to be a victim. That is not to say the cheating was justified, but men can only learn from their mistakes if they own them.

Probably, but again, end of the day it's her actions and her choices.

Obviously she has to make a choice to cheat, but is that choice caused by his failures?

Maybe particularly in causing her unhappiness, but there's a lot of other ways she could have dealt with it.

No. People change. It's possible for one person to have changed enough that they're just attracted to other qualities than they used to be attracted to. It's not possible for one person to attract every person in the world. Even the most alpha guy in the world isn't going to be attractive to every single woman.

Cheating is an action often caused by a reaction. It doesn't just happen. It IS however the person fault committing the act. When the person in the relationship feels they are not getting the attention they desire...before they know it- elsewhere becomes more desirable. As a woman - if you are working out, cooking, cleaning, working in your OWN career AND fucking your husband/BF nightly and he still seems to be drifting...OR looking elsewhere...it's time to NEXT!!!! Because he is just GREEDY.
I have seen women - time and time - get down on themselves. It is not your fault. But you have to know when to throw in your cards and know the person does not love you and they are just being selfish and DUMB.

Sort of. Women cheat when men don't meet expectations. It could be argued that if he'd just tried harder she wouldn't have cheated. Many women make this argument -- usually without any thought about whether or not the women met expectations or if she even tried to.

It is not his fault that he is cheated on, but it is his fault that he cares. It is his fault that he put all of his eggs in one basket, despite the near statistical certainty that it would blow up in his face regardless of how he behaved within the relationship.

Pretty much everyone's actions are a consequence of a mixture of external pressures and internal motivations/ values/ 'character', but the degree to which each individual person is affected by the former and the latter vary significantly. Some people are very much moulded by their environment, and the way you treat them will have a massive effect on whether they cheat or not. Others are the opposite, and will cheat or not cheat largely depending on how it aligns with their own goals, weaknesses and values system regardless of what you do.

Either way, while you shouldn't 'blame' yourself for someone cheating, it never hurts to self reflect and think about what you could have done differently in order to improve your next relationship.
