First of I would like to say that I mean FEMININE, not MOTHERLY. I'm not referring to nurturing behaviour or anything like that.

To me being feminine is respecting yourself, your partner, looking after yourself. If you disagree with this assertion, discuss it in the comments so I can understand your point of view.

We tend to hear a lot that men prefer feminine women, and how today's women aren't feminine enough. Since the topic of femininity and masculinity is frequently discusses here, I would be interested in hearing your opinion on this. When referring as women to feminine, why do men tend to focus more on the nurturing aspects which make a woman motherly and not feminine? Why do men make fun of women for possessing feminine traits? It's almost like men want a woman to be a mother figure to them, which is very strange to me. When I'm in the presence of a masculine man, the last thing I want to do is become nurturing towards him. Instead, I am able to relax into feminine state more easily.
