Got bored, boyfriend is playing Dark Souls, so I started to browse r/theredpill. I noticed two different threads, both recently and very uprated, but dramatically different.

Thread one is "the sixmost important things I learned" type thing. Here's a brief summary. I think I can speak for most blues that this thread really isn't offensive or sexist. It focuses entirely on self improvement, stressing the importance of lifting, putting yourself out there, and saying no when you need to. I can't say that I agree with everything the guy says, but it is largely good advice. We often say that TRP has nuggets of good but obvious advice buried in a pile of rancid shit. And this is one of those good but obvious ones. It's points are; learn to say no (which is common advice), be confident (which is common advice), hit the gym (which is common advice), and to be willing to be uncomfortable at times (less common advice but still not that novel).

Thread two is most of the typical sexist bullshit you see. In stark contrast, this one is entirely about women and nothing about self improvement. A brief summary is that women are hardwired to seek masculine men who can provide resources, and will always be tempted to cheat if she finds a better man. That "just about every girl craves an alpha male, whether they admit it or not." Do not hold a woman to the same level of honor as a man and do not expect her to keep her word. A woman lives and dies by her emotions.

I found it interesting, for whatever reason. There does seem to be a duality to TRP. Some of it is just genuinely good though typical advice, and other parts seem to just be there to make men feel better about themselves by putting women down. What do you guys think? Do you agree with the first post? Do you at least agree it isn't that offensive? What about the second post? Do you see any real connection between the two, or could TRP be separated into two distinctly different subs?
