Yes, when we (classical liberals) won over the country on the issue of gay marriage rights, the amount of formal NGOs and otherwise paid individuals or entities that sprung up around that time necessitated the invention of more problems to secure the funding that they discovered was there for the taking in social issues. This is how you have people like Anita Sarkeesian making bank talking about complete bullshit in the video game industry, and once respectable media outlets pushing "manspreading" as an actual problem, the rape hoax culture etc.

No. In fact arguably the real 'cash cow' of the left, at least in America, is "The Third Way."

Its only recently that this has startled to crumble, Hilary Clinton is pretty much the modern face of the Third Way.

Yes it is. It allows them to appeal to wealthy White women who have tonnes of disposal resources (Including time) at the expense of more legitimate issues such as women's rights in poor countries or violence in non-White ghettos.

Only people who care about feminism are politicians and high status rich people, actors, and musicians. Not because they ACTUALLY care, but because for them it's easy to use ammo to attack other high status people who don't care to move up the ladder, and by pretending to be feminist it's another avenue that can't be used to attack you. Obviously overly sensitive laywomen care too, but most regular folks don't.

I think a good example of the psychology and power dynamics behind it is the Black Mirror episode - Nosedive from the recent season.

Feminism isn't a cash cow, it's more of a social/cultural norm at this point.

I'm sure there's ways of leveraging it to make money (like you can do with anything, provided you're savvy enough), but Feminism in and of itself is not a money maker.

Edit: If TRPers really wanted to "enjoy the decline", then I'm sure they'd see Feminism as an opportunity to make money and get casual sex. Adapt to the current market and profit.

Despite its more extreme fringe having become a (somewhat) socially acceptable target for ridicule in recent years, Feminism remains women's lobby and as such, remains virtually unbeatable. Women are the true power in society, meaning what they say goes.

Well, it's tough, because I feel that anti-PC types are just total suckers to people who say anti-PC things. Donald Trump, Milo Yanapolis (not even gonna try to spell that), etc, you say anti-PC stuff, the sheep just lap it up and ask for more. It's sad actually.

Feminism I think though can be used for the benefit of others and I think the feminist podcast Stuff Mom Never Told You may've done an episode recently on this topic, maybe multiple ones. I know I'm remembering one on the topic of empowerment and how literally everything can be seen as "empowering". The Dove commercials as well with women of different sizes in it is another example, despite Dove also advertising skin lightening products in other countries. I think the difference between feminists and the anti-PC types is feminists may end up doing a better job at analyzing the use of feminism as a cash cow and something to make money off of other people, where as anti-PC types are just completely clueless and if you say the left "quells speech" or calls people racist to stop conversation, people's brains fall out and they buy it hook, line and sinker. You mentioned those youtube channels, and Thunderf00t showing his ignorance of tax law recently with Anita Sarkeesian, but again, he's anti-PC, anti-feminists, and the sheep bah in response. That's why if Thunderf00t were a Pokemon, he'd be Amphoros, not just do to the electric typing, but he's the fully evolved form of a sheep Pokemon.

Also, I have a feeling that discussing issues of racism is hard for some people to handle, hence being down voted into oblivion. Because that's PC, and I'm anti-PC, and bahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

I don't think feminism in and of itself is a "cash cow" in the way that you're suggesting, but the "old" media has absolutely taken to using it as part of a wider "culture war" narrative that forms something akin to a clickbait version of yellow journalism. In that sense it's definitely a cash cow for them.

It's something I'll harp on about a lot, that now when you read something pro-feminist and anti-male in, say, the New York Times, or full-bore apologetics for Islamic terrorism in Salon, it's not because the editors support the viewpoints, it's because it'll get shared a million times while requiring no journalistic skill whatsoever. They know exactly what they're doing, and there's not any pretence that even somewhere like the Guardian considers these women to be serious writers who should be doing anything except generating website traffic.

That it exists among the political classes is likely no different than why the same incredibly petty and provincial stuff comes up time and time again with right-wingers, again to the detriment of their own cause. Normal, sensible people, of any persuasion, or people who have jobs and families and shit to do, don't tend to feel the need in 2016 to spend their free time doing unpaid work for major political parties. Rather, the people that do are the kind of people you'd accidentally spill wine on yourself to have an excuse not to talk to have to engage in conversation. The problem is that when the only people with the time to be actively involved in politics are two groups of billionaires and lunatic housewives, you suddenly end up having serious political discussions centred around trans bathrooms, and then abject confusion when people in Ohio are more interested in voting for a candidate that promises jobs rather than shouting about abortions and Jesus.
