So there is a thread on askreddit right now about what should men be taught.

One common theme I see running through there is "just listen. Don't try and solve her problems."

As a woman, knowing that men are pre-disposed to want to solve your problem, why do you come to him wanting to vent? And why do so many women get so pissed off if, by his very nature, he tries to help by offering solutions?

I'd love to hear some female perspective on this.
