Japan seems to be a unique and interesting case study - the males are choosing to refrain from women therefore they can't be considered "incel" like how it in the West where women are soaked in male attention and have actually come to resent it, the situation in Japan looks more MGTOW than anything else. Where in the West there is this hyper-competitive SMP - where a large number of men are disqualified (making them incel), the situation in Japan seem to be the complete opposite: the women there actually complaining about the lack of male attention, and the guys themselves seem to have taken on a complete metro/effeminate look and who are just not pursing women.

So the guys in Japan aren't incel. They're MGTOW.

I think the Japanese are more volcel than incel. They aren't interested in sex. They prefer to play video games and watch hentai. I would suggest the cause is linked to low testosterone levels.

Here are just a few problems:

More freedom without care for duties/responsibilities and discipline. Many women actually don't want sex to average males. A lot of women in the past were sort of just pressured into pairing up by family/culture. When there's no pressure, kids will dilly-dally on filial and cultural duties forever.
Millenials aren't meeting in person anymore
- More bells and whistles distracting people from meeting in person. People are socializing over social media instead of in person. Less opportunities for things to just naturally happen. The social media also scratches too many itches we have wrt to human interaction (beta intellectual stimulation / companionship)... just missing the physical interaction.
- People are playing games in their homes instead of going out, because they were raised that way.
- The stranger danger paranoia decades ago set off a chain reaction where parents were a lot more ok with kids staying indoors. It just feels more dangerous to parents when their kid is one of the few that are still outside, playing alone.
- Parents are having less kids than in the past, so the few kids they DO have end up being more precious to them. They're too fearful they fuck up on their one kid. This is the same criticism American geopolitical analysts lob at China, claiming that their one child policy will cause social problems. Same concerns they have there are coming to fruition here albeit to a lesser degree.
Shitty work culture and economy sucking up a lot of people's time. This is more relevant to Japan than the US but still a problem here.
More entertaining distractions in general. Porn, video games, drugs, and internet. Such a vice, it gets mentioned twice! Sex/Relationships in the past helped with boredom. There's too many other cures to boredom now.
Testosterone has been on the decline in the past few decades.
Western culture has becoming more restrictive and even hostile to old "toxic" masculine behaviours.
More "well-behaved beta boys" who neurotically pay heed to feminist mores that make them think twice and self-inhibit when it comes to approaching women.
Too many people are fat now. I'm not sure of the exact effects on females, but I know for males fat has an effect on estrogen/testosterone levels. It also makes people less eager to fuck as opposed to jacking it to porn or other alternatives.

There is no increase in the number of incels (certainly not in Japan, where those figures are due to a combination of a sexually conservative culture and "volcels").

What we do have is an increasing number of mentally imbalanced "incels" whining about it online, creating an echo chamber that makes it seem like there are more than they actually are.

Other studies show millenial men are losing their virginity later than even their grandparents. Millenial men are also having fewer sex partners.

Even if this is true (which I'm not sure about), it could probably be explained by the fact that their grandparents mostly grew up in the 1950's and 1960's - an era where marrying and pairing off at a younger age was far more socially expected.

First of all, Japan has different problems that cause incels than America. In Japan as a whole there is a lower standard for masculinity than in America, meaning guys that have an average height and body here would be well above average in Japan. Japan is likely to do a harsh work environment and blowjob bars.

With America, its much more to do with gym culture. A guy who doesn't lift weights is considered out of shape.

Basically, the SMV has moved from socialism (heavy pressure to marry and remain monogamous on men and women; high marriage rate) to free-market (Chads have access to women; incels and bottom of barrel men strike out). True, there have always been incels, but the number of virgins varies from culture to culture. There are fewer 18-34 virgins in America than Japan, for example.

I say it's a result of the sexual free-market, which I support. All I want is that the omega losers not get crapped on too badly for failing to find anyone.

The fact that so many men aren't attractive enough to get sex is probably down to them not having been bred much for it in many many generations.

There was sort of a deal between rich powerful competent men and poor powerless less competent men. Slave away for the boss and you too can have a woman who is forced to marry you because the bosses deny her a good choice of employment options, it is impossible (not just hard, impossible) for her to sensibly raise a child and prepare for retirement alone, she is denied access to contraception and abortion. If she has a baby while single the pressure will be on to her to surrender it and return to the SMP to find a low value man. All men in employment, all women under control of a man.

The longer we went on that way, the less sustainable it became, especially once war stopped being such a big evolutionary stress too that helped to cull those men who were truly incompetent in the real world. Men had been becoming so genetically unattractive that a large number of women could not cope with staying married to one for 50+ years, and even if she stayed her unhappiness would spill out all over and make the man unhappy too. Men down the lower end of the range had been becoming increasingly incompetent at work and recruiting women made very good sense. Genetically linked disorders of social functioning were getting out of control. It was time for the pendulum to swing towards women having choice again, and start to correct the accumulated errors from allowing for so long the high rate of passing on of defective genes for social functioning.

I may or may not believe some or all of the above. But is is clearly consistent with TRP thinking.So if you're TRP you should probably believe it. Women are about to save humanity, by taking back their right to not reproduce with low SMV men.

If you can't handle the free market then maybe you'd better think about being a better producer of value, be it for your own consumption (MGTOW) or for trade (improve your SMV and RMV)

I think what's causing it is that men want people to be attracted to them, but they don't want to be attractive in order to achieve this goal. There is certainly also resentment that many women do not have to put effort into being desirable, so why should we?

Its certainly not fair, but life isn't fair. Sitting around and complaining about life not being fair isn't a good sexual strategy to get laid. Taking action to even the odds is a better step to getting laid.

Millenials seem to have a lethal allergy to the gym. If we could make advances in medicine to cure this modern allergical reaction to exercise I believe that less men would be incels.

The internet and helicopter parenting.

Many young men these days are afraid of social situations because they've been able to hide behind a computer screen for their formative years so they've never learned social skills. Helicopter parents enable these boys exasperating their lack of worldly knowledge which keeps them from ever gaining any self confidence in dealing with the real world. "Social anxiety" wasn't even a thing 20 years ago. Now I can't get through three threads without someone using as an excuse for their inability to do anything..

Men now and days are very unattractive. Woman are attractive to us by default, they don't even have to do anything. In fact the less they do the more attractive they are half of the time. Men on the other hand need to become attractive. Sure you get some very aesthetic pretty boys and yeah those dudes do get laid. But to really light a woman's groin on fire , to have her be devoted to you you have to be a man. It used to be we had rituals or tests in place to transition from boyhood to manhood. (vision quests, apprenticeships, killing someone in battle etc), now we have nothing and have a society of adult boys running around. Not very attractive at all. Sorry ladies.

There are the economic factors and there are the technological factors.

Economically things suck. There are fewer and fewer good jobs and the ones that are there usually require you to put yourself $50k in debt with student loans to get some stupid university degree that really doesn't mean shit. Guys are poor, guys are unfulfilled, guys are uninspired by their economic circumstances and that really can do a number on your confidence. . .and that carries over into the SMP.

Technologically, internet dating - and especially Tinder - give people to access to so many options that they reach. I know I do it. Online I hit on 8s, who are by reasonable measures "out of my league". Or I chase 7s who are half my age. Throw enough oatmeal against the wall and some of it will stick.

But with everyone doing that it really sucks to be below the median. So I am a 6 who - by experience and learning - can leverage my top 1% IQ to present as a 7, and with enough work, I bag 8s.

But some schumck who is a 5 and will always be a 5 and just can't internalize TRP. . .is invisible. The women who are 5s chase the 7 guys. The 3s and 4s chase the 6s.

And the thing is, some of those 3 and 4 girls will get laid but it will be pump-and-dump because they are going out of their league.

Japan is it's own sort of train wreck. It was all the shit back in the 80s but now China is the thing and Japan - on so many measures - is just fading from view.

Again, it's economy is tanking, and the demographics are terrible.

But seriously: are you saying that half the girls on those stupid islands still have their V-card?
