Also why are you conflating 1:1 MGTOW with Red Pill? I understand trying to 'gotcha' MGTOW because their schtick is to go their own way. But Red Pill is, while related, a distinctly different phenomenon.

The MGTOW-sub makes no sense. If they did go their own way then why did they all go to that sub? They should have just spread out into the different subs of their interests, like Pokemon, motorcycles and kung-fu.

A MGTOW will explain why he is MGTOW and why others should consider it. An MRA will talk about legislation that oppresses men for the benefit of women. TRP goes on about all the nonsense men have to put up with to have sex with women.

It's rather straight forward.

Even then, all of the posts are not about women (although AFAIK the MRA discussions will be collaterally related). Exercise techniques and financial/career advice has nothing to do with women directly.

That's a very big umbrella to include those three groups in your question.

Red Pillers are not concerned about rights primarily. They know what the playing field looks like, they remember and teach each other, how to proceed in the field. They tell to look at women's actions instead what they say. They want to create an environment where they can have what they want, because women agree on it. They say, to be cautious around women, and be aware of the fact that female and male priorities in life differ very much.

MGTOWs are the opposite. They are the cavemen, who run away from women. But occasionally come out of their caves and point out the things they do not like.

MRAs on the other hand want the same rights as women. Even in the US, in most states no one can tell a woman, whether she has to be a parent or not. That's her decision, and the man has to suck it up. If she wants the baby, the man has to accept it. If she does not want the baby, the man has to accept it. And here comes the fear from women, that men want to tell them what choice they can make. It is not necessarily true. And given the resistance, no sane MRA would force a solution lacking compromise.

Take for example adoption. If the woman does not want a child, but the father wants, the father could have a say in the future of a human being who is half his. Both abortion and child birth has its own risks. A woman could give birth, surrender all maternal responsibilities and the father could adopt the baby. No child support, since she did not want the baby. The man would be happy to have a child, and a win-win situation.

But if the father is the one not wanting the child, it does not matter, since he has no choice. He can't say, that after the child is born, she will bear the sole responsibility for it. He is financially responsible for that child for 18 years. It does not matter, if she was the one failing on contraception, it does not matter if she punctured his condom on purpose. But when a man punctures the condom, he causes her bodily harm (i.e. pregnancy). It's always the man who is chastised, and at fault for unwanted pregnancy and not the woman.

MRAs are the more likely to point out inequality in society. Like when a teacher hooks up with a pupil. If the teacher is male, there is no excuse, and it is called statutory rape in the news. If the teacher is female, it is called sex or inappropriate behavior. There are cases where the female teacher is deemed immature for her age, and that's the explanation for reduced or suspended sentence with the small difference in emotional age. Generally if a female teacher has sex with a male pupil, she is lonely and needs company and support. If a male does it to a female, he wants sex. I mean, if it is about sex, why would a male teacher not have sex with someone more experienced? Both want a younger lover. Both want sex. Why can't the male teacher feel the pride of teaching someone, the same way a female teacher could feel?

MRAs point out the differences what they consider sexist. Like violence, and the push to reduce it. A man can hit another man without being sexist. A woman can hit another woman without being sexist. A woman can hit a man without being sexist. A man can never hit a woman. That's the social norm. Justified by the fact that women are weaker, and it is not fair to hit them. And I agree, it is not fair to hit anyone. But the campaigns are not about not hitting other people, they're about not hitting women. A 6'1" 180 lbs woman can defend herself against a 5' 100 lbs woman, but a 6'1" man can't. Because if the man does the same, he is sexist even for defending himself. That's half of /r/PussyPassDeneid BTW.

OP...you do realise that sex means a lot to men, right? So unless they are gay or asexual, finding ways to attract women will involve discussions of women. MGTOW is based on living a life separate from women but it is about them doing so because of the bad experiences they have had with women. Some guys who have gone their own way still get the occasional sexytime but they are going their own way for a reason: women. Also, TRP does tell men to have a life and do hobbies outside of the world of women and relationships.

There are two main reasons for this. In no particular order:

The first is because, in recent times, men's rights and freedoms in the West have primarily been eroded by the efforts of feminism, from the 2nd wave onwards, and the subsequent growth of gynocentric standards, which socially disenfranchise many men. Rights and freedoms being important factors in living a safe, happy, and fulfilling life, is it any wonder that men would focus their attention on one of the primary threats to such a life, feminist doctrine and gynocentric standards becoming the undisputed normative standards?

The second is because sexual satisfaction is a primary drive for most men and an important component in living a satisfying life. Most men being heterosexual, women are going to be an important factor in the satisfaction of men's sexual drive, hence men's interest in discussing sexual strategy and women.

Of course, men have many other interests that do not directly involve women, but let's not pretend that half the population in a sexual, reproducing, dimorphic, species, would not be an important focus for the other half of that species in matters of life.

MGTOW and TRP are are not really similar at all, the two reactions are the complete opposite. The only thing related between the two is the fact that it is a response towards women + societies view of men, but everything after that is different

MRA's may be butt hurt of divorce laws, but typically it double standards (see /r/pussypass and /r/pussypassdenied). there are really legal inqualites and social in equalites facing men.

No granted if i ran /r/MR i would ban WBB posts and feminist posts to cut down on the circle jerking. but thats me. i really dotn go to /r/mr very much any more. its just sad really. so much bitch so little real activism.
