Hello my dearest queens,

Another day, another report.

To contextualize I work in a very academically driven hospital and, consequently, surrounded by the most liberal peers, both men and women.

Yesterday, I was working with my supervisor who is dragging his girlfriend along for the past 2 years. They are both mid to late thirties, far from being children or even young adults. I’m in my mid twenties.

So, we were writing a clinical diary, nothing important mind you, and I wrote “ x patient, 35 years old, married...” and he stopped me right there only to say “oh she isn’t married...that men who was with her is just her boyfriend”.

And this was said with a tone of “being married and being in a relationship in very different.”

This was said by a “very nice and cool” guy, accordingly to most women who work with him. I have nothing to report about him, but that distinction rubbed me off about him, specially because I work with his girlfriend as well and she ia clearly hoping or expecting for a long term relationship.

Even unconsciously they know the difference. That was a very spontaneous statement, which only confirm what we all already know: they have know issue dragging women along. And liberal or not, they all know the difference between serious commitment and “just in a relationship”. All of them.

Be aware and be smart! ;)
