from puberty on, one of the major interest for men is sex so they try different ways to get it. if women were more attracted to non traditionally masculine men exhibiting non traditionally masculine features such as shyness, introversion, social awkwardness, low degree of assertivity, showing weakness more frequently and less aggression etc. you would see these things cropping up more often in men. rewarding certain behaviors with what men crave the most (sexual and love companionship from women) would make them more common. with turning down these traits, women are indirectly promoting the opposite types of guys, those who act cocky, displaying aggression, stoicism, less in contact with their emotional side etc. they might not directly mock non masculine men, but giving them little if any consideration when it comes to dating and sex doesn't encourage them to give up traditional masculinity. I understand that many people, including BPers, feminists and progressives, have a negative perception of men who show weakness and vulnerability because they still have preconceptions about men and their role so my previous description of "non masculine" traits might trigger spiteful responses from those who would see such types of men as crybabies. that shows your double standards because I doubt you would say the same things if the genders were reversed. you advocate for gender neutrality but then hypocritically go on bashing men who don't conform to what society expects from them. and when I say giving attention, I don't mean a washed up, aging, former party girl who settles down with his high school classmate because she needs a provider, I mean girls in their prime showing active and pro-active interest in someone.
