To the "Women are only good for sex" crowd, what is your life situation (job, etc) that doesn't have a single woman worth having as a friend?

I disagree with that comment wholeheartedly. I work in a technical field so I've met a lot of intelligent women that had something to offer in terms of conversation and friendship. The only person I am tight with at work is a woman. My best friend is my wife. I think it really depends on the type of women you are associating with. If you are always around the type of girls that are "at the club" or similar places, then yea I can see how you might have that viewpoint. But I would also think the same of a lot of the men that frequent places like that. It's a very juvenile theory that hopefully most of them grow out of as they age. Just like race, you take each person on an individual basis. Making such a broad generalization about personality is anti-intellectual.

Studying political science. There's a decent amount women in my classes. They seem to be either totally disinterested in politics (beyond making the grade) or are totally fashionably liberal. Most women don't have much to say when it comes to having a real discussion about the topic at hand. They either say the most generic and obvious possible statement that they can manage from lifting text straight from the source material or simply stay silent in class.

I've also found that the vast majority of women aren't interested in having what I would call a "50-50" friendship. If a woman is friends with a man that she isn't sexually attracted to then she must receive some kind of value from him or the friendship won't work. Women want a "60-40" friendship at the very least where the man provides the majority of the value to the friendship. They want help with their homework, help moving shit into their dorm, notes from last class, etc. What do they bring in value to the "friendship" themselves? The presence of a pair of tits and a vagina. I've witnessed firsthand women use their so-called male "friends" for their own ulterior motives.

On top of that, I've witnessed how women treat their female friends enough to know that friendship with a woman is impossible. They constantly gossip at or backstab each other. I've heard many times women tell me they "prefer to hang out with guys, it's so much easier." If this is a commonly expressed sentiment from women about being friends with other women, then what can I really expect as a man attempting to be friends with a woman?

you'll find some bitterness, but there are some common factors at play:

women start off as good for sex (maybe). They can add value and be interesting people, or ride the sex appeal as long as it lasts.
there are a saddening number of women who don't develop themselves, in part because there are a lot of men who will cater to their whims for the possibility of sex

I can't really relate to the bit about not talking to women I don't want to fuck - if I want to fuck them, it'll get in the way of other things unless the interest is mutual (we can go off and fuck for a bit and see how that goes). Otherwise, she's just another person, but there's a chance that she's less motivated to develop herself and therefore less interesting.

Or I could just say that "You're good for more than sex, unless that's the only thing you have of value"

I've had "friendships" develop with guys that are dropped the second I make it clear I'm not attracted to them. Once this happens a few times, you can start to tell who actually wants to be your friend and who's just trying to be friendly before they escalate to flirty.

If I think a guy is being disingenuous with his friendship I make it known as soon as possible that I'm only interested in him platonically. This makes some guys feel prematurely rejected ("you didn't even give me a chance!") and can lead to hurt feels/bitterness. If this happens to a guy often enough I think it's a lot easier for him to place blame outwardly and say women aren't even worth the friendship he tried to initiate than to look inwards and figure out what needs to change with him, namely not engaging with people under false pretenses. If all you want to do is fuck make that clear up front, don't be deceptive.

A lot of people from the "women are only good for sex" crowd try hard to mask the "I'm only being nice because I want you" sentiment because if it were in the open they'd be punished for it socially. It's a lot easier on the ego to try to win a woman you're sexually attracted to over by doing her favors/"demonstrating value" etc than it is to grow some balls and be direct about your attraction. The problem is that it's just as easy to feel resentful for 'giving so much' and getting nothing in return, even though the transactional nature of the 'friendship' is understood by only one party because they're intentionally being underhanded. Would you go up to a slot machine, put tons of coins in, and then get pissed when you don't hit the jackpot? Of course not, because you're gambling, and it's much more likely that you're gonna lose than win.

I think you find women everywhere if you're so inclined. You just have to be out there. There are many women you can have great conversation with in the world.

However, being friends with a woman is problematic because once you have an LTR the relationship is strained, so it's advantageous to make friends with guys and keep women at a distance.

You have to remember that just like any other group the RedPill community is also segmented.

Some feminists are man-hating witches, others understand the problems men face and seek to equalize things for them as well.

Some redpillers are your typical angry, vengeful woman-hating creeps, others are just guys that want to push Men's Rights issues forward while at the same time accepting gender differences and appreciating what women can do.

But I think the biggest point of redpill is to encourage men to be more confident and assertive in life.

Studying desogn at the moment.

In group projects women never pull their weight. Literally ever project the women tries to get away with as little as possible. What's worse is the blue pill males don't expect her to do work and cover for her laziness.

Yes.. I've had 3 groups with girls and in all of them the female did significantly less work. I observe in many more as my friends deal with it. if they did their work it wasn't to an acceptable standard (due to their laziness to do it properly) and had to be redone. They kind of just.. sit out of the discussion and when you prompt them for input they provide no valuable Insight.

Another example is where we had to build a flag stand in groups, the all female group completely failed to make a structure that could stand at all, no majority male group had a problem with this. Conversely women groups did a great job at the abstract project of representing the concept of "lightness" as a physical manifestation.

There are hard working females, although rare in my sphere. Their ideas are on point with the marking criteria and many are quite good. However these women have a terrible time recieving or taking input. Some of the best female designers can not have an "open-source" design discussion. The design has to be the women's own brain child, or they are completely disinterested - again bad for team work.

Women can't be your friend because.. well a women has no interest in being friends. Women only want you if you provide value. Whether it be attention, support or your help. If you stop providing she will stop being your friend. The only time a women wants to be with you for no active value return is when she wants to fuck you. She doesn't feel the need to support you in any way thay is uncomfortable for her.

Ontop of this tjey aren't funny, and extremely self-centered, makimg for a very poor frienship candidate.

I'm an engineer working in a relatively small town compared to where I studied at university. I have met literally zero intelligent women since I began this work.

I'm not convinced it's possible to meet intelligent women in clubs, at least not here. However, I'm very close with my younger sister who is intelligent and well read. I'd love to meet a girl like her who has interests and hobbies beyond 'I like to go out with friends but also like staying in and watching a film'.

Let me ask a serious question that's sort of off topic. Where do the kind of women who don't like clubs and bars actually go?

My question for any man claiming to have many female "friends" is, do you invest as much in these friendships as you do in your male friendships, how long have these relationships lasted compared to those with your male friends and do you feel as much loyalty and reliability coming from these relationships?

Also, do you have close male friends? Do you have a friend that would bail you out of jail? do you have a friend that would drive an hour in the rain to jump your car off? Do you have a female friend who would do either of those things?

Being honest. I have met some pretty awesome women who are good friends. Some women don't have much depth but that is possibly due to difficulty expressing things across a gender divide. Some are vapid and pointless people but some are really good, intelligent, understanding people.

They are not the same as guys and they bring a different flavor and perspective to my life which I appreciate.

The most unnecessarily crappy people I have met have been women. They will shit in you just for the sake of it. Guys will usually pretend to be your friend then shit in you when there is something to gain. Both are crappy people, they just express it in different ways. (Warning this paragraph contains generalizations)

I don't agree with this and have argued against it in the sub along with other subscribers. It's been debated a few times over the past year, but it seems the more recent posts have generated more extreme responses.

The point I've made is that female friendships deserve to be judged according to the same standards to which friendships with other men are held.

Less sexually successful men may use shallow female friendships as a replacement for dating and allow themselves to be taken advantage of as an orbiter with the expectation that enough nice behavior will lead to a relationship.

I feel the major issue that is not outwardly communicated in TRP but is likely fueling much of the rhetoric that op is referencing has to do with the feeling that female friends tend to pull away from friendships with male friends when they enter into serious relationships, in a way that fundamentally changes the friendship and that male to male friendships are held to a standard in which "pulling away" happens with the basic tenets of the friendship remaining intact.

Much of the anger and blaming rhetoric is coming from a place of anger associated with accepting a reality that was not previously understood and has caused painful experiences.
