Because our bodies don’t respond to them sexually, in fact we may respond with disgust, an extra large person with flabby rolls just feels unhealthy.

I don't know what makes them unattractive, I just don't find them attractive. It's a visceral feeling, not a logical decision. I can't explain it.

A somewhat overweight woman can be attractive if the weight is in the right places. Hip to waist ratio and all that. Being obese is a complete turnoff though. It's not only physically repulsive, but also serves as a visible expression of personality flaws. It takes a lack of self-control to become and stay obese.

Sweat.

Theres fucking sweat in every rolls of her body. Given that fat, if shes got a hummongus chest you can count on watery underboobs too.

In practical terms, while not impossible its clearly unpleasant (to say the least) to have her on top. There are so many positions you just cannot do, making the sex already pitiful into some booring chore you have to conduct 100%.

Speaking of obesity, it’s gross. We 100% did not evolve around anyone obese. It’s not a natural state to be in by any means. It’s crazy impractical and ridiculously difficult to actually accomplish. It’s maddening to walk around with +350,000 extra calories of food stored on your person. For what? Emergency food shortages? There’s a Mcd’s on every corner. And during real emergencies you’re basically a sentient obstacle.

The feel of fat is kind of gross to me compared to the feel of a hardbody. Of course a little bit of fat is acceptable but too much is not attractive.

Typically obesity is an indication of other bad traits like messiness or a negative attitude. Also these traits and attitudes pass down to kids. Guys thinks about how their children will fair when deciding sexual partners too even if it is subconscious.

The extra weight makes the simplest positions and sex acts burdensome. Visually, excess fat past a certain point to wear the female form is obscured just doesn't arouse lust. It doesn't cause an erection. Its involuntary what does and what doesn't.

Why does a hot woman look attractive? It's a question that someone can break down into numbers but our brains don't need to do that. They just know. It's also why some guys think fat woman are attractive, their brains just do. My wife is a size 2 but wants to drop 10lbs for ideal. Let's also remember that a size 2 on her was a 6 in college she's not underweight. My buddy with a fat wife is totally not attracted to her and thinks she's nuts for wanting it.

One thing I've never understood or related to was the concept of finding bodies repulsive. I'm either attracted or indifferent. So in the case of fat women, it's the absence of having a body that I'm attracted to. No different than looking at a dude, for me. There's just nothing there, sexually. I can't explain it beyond that.

But too much fat is unattractive. Simply because of biological reasons. We are commonly attracted to healthy looking bodies.

Wide hips, large breasts, hips, buttocks, low body fat, etc.

Also a possible indicator of a bad diet being implemented. Or general unhealthiness.

Years ago I saw a show on attractiveness. They had some anthropologist on that basically said that, across cultures, there were only two factors that existed in every culture that determined attractiveness.

They were health, and youth. That's it.

I think that for a lot of men, and women, fat equals 'not healthy.'

So this is not about men, and what men find attractive. That is what bothers me most about this question. Women do this too. Why are only men being asked this question? According to the OKCupid surveys, women have an even higher threshold for what is attractive than do men.

Bottom line, as a population, we ALL, statistically speaking, prefer thin to fat. There are exceptions, fetishes, but those are extremely rare.

I don’t mind some extra weight, if it’s carried well. But I’m a pretty short, skinny guy so I kinda draw the line if shes significantly bigger than I am. I wouldn’t even know how to get purchase climbing on top. The size difference would be a turn off.

Same reason women don't find fat men attractive, societal/cultural standards.

We are seeing a push for fat women to be seen as desirable though, so many adverts and even BBC shows about it. No such push to try to make fat men be seen as attractive though.

I don't think anyone can answer that question.

Attraction just happens, it can't be rationalized; and it's even more deep and complicated for what we're not attracted to.

I am one of them, I am attracted to very fit women who lift and it shows, if you do a google image search of "strong is the new skinny", you'll see what I mean.

I don't know why I am attracted to that body type of woman, and I now that I am not attracted to overweight women.

I hang out with women who are fit, 5'5", career-oriented, educated, smart, and younger then me. Boob size, color of hair/eyes doesn't matter.

Here body shape no longer fits my ideal hourglass shaped is my ideal and I think for most men as well. However fat girls bellies stick out and their hips are nonexistent because they get taken over by fat. They no longer appealing to look at.

I guess women lack the hip to waist ratio the more they gain weight - as weight gain signifies advancing age as well, mating with 'older' looking menopausal women serves no evolutionary purpose as they can't get pregnant. Men get erections when we see a small, flat waist and slightly wider hips. Fat women lack this. The upper body of fat women looks big, butch and unfeminine / not delicate. Without the boobs a fat womens torso looks the same as a fat mans. As does the lower body. A fat woman loses her gender identity. The faces of obese people look ugly as they lack definition. They look bloated and round. And remember, for millenia / tens if not hundreds of thousands of years men mated with adolescent / post adolescent females as they were the most fertile and people didn't live that long so couldn't postpone child birth to as late as the 30's. So men were accustomed to liking youthful traits of the adolescent / teen female which is low body fat, perky breasts, lean muscle tone, tight skin, nubile body, less hairy etc. Only in the last 100 yrs as this become taboo, but it still controls what we like.

The purpose of sex is reproduction, but a big belly mimics pregnancy and men have evolved to look for cues of pregnancy in women. A pregnant woman is already pregnant, the job is already done, she can not be impregnanted again, at least for as long as she is pregnant. So men are not to interested in having sex with her. In the stoneage nearly no one was fat, so a big belly was almost always a sign of pregnancy. Men who had sex with women who had flat stomachs reproduced more often, so their genes stayed in the genepool, thats propably why most men today dont find big bellys attractive.

An exception could be, if you are fat, but have a very good waist to hip ratio and a flat stomach and your fat is mostly stored around your butt, thighs and breasts.
