Yeah, most guys I dated (I'm categorically not a gold digger but definitely not a good sweet girlfriend material).

Its human psychology. When asked everyone will choose the option that looks good on paper because they will approach it simplistically, but in reality many feel more for those who make them suffer more, make them feel in the first place, and all kinds of other things. Good boring girls dont get that kind of love.

Not entirely comparable. Women are, in the main, the choosers. Relatively few men are in a similar position vis-a-vis sex partners.

Most men must take what is offered to them. If a bad girl chooses him, he’ll take her, since it beats going without for another year or two.

i know more guys who are into crazy girls than i do girls who are into bad boys. "crazy girls" can be anything from wild hipster crackhead chicks, party girls who wear their emotions on their sleeves (moi), to like relatively normie ass white dudes who exclusively date psycho puerto rican chicks from the bronx

Both men and women in my social groups will warn them beforehand but do not listen so end up heartbroken in the end like we all predicted. These girls aren't bad people per se but make some poor choices. And they suffer consequences unfortunately.

That’s me. I didn’t have the best relationship with my mother and spent most of my life going after npd women. I spent a lot of time around bpd girls too but I never really fell for them. A lot of these girls were verbally abusive, cheaters, addicts and compulsive liars though. I even convinced myself that they were better than other women in the same way the bad-boy chaser girls do. I convinced myself normal girls were boring and pushovers and that these girls were real. And I tried really hard to change some of them As well, just like the bad boy chasers do. I would also reject any nice and reasonable girl, including usually ignoring any sexual advances. I was super fucked up and it ruined my life and now I’m a bit bummed that I completely ignored a few girls that could’ve been really good for me. And I also now realize that the abusive girls were incredibly insecure and not even fun beyond creating endless drama and that normal girls can actually be really fun and funny and weird and just awesome.

I think it's just that the slightly unhinged women communicate better. And by better, I mean at all. That bar is incredibly low since most "nice girls" dating strategy is avoidance and withdrawal.

It's not like women, who are attracted to the most floridly psycho male in the bar.

It's something more like "this slightly nutty woman is the only woman willing to talk to me, none of these other women are, she's even holding up her end of the conversation so I guess I'll go with it."

Most guys tend to proceed regardless of her character if she is hot but I rarely see men specifically going for bad women the way that so many women go for bad boys.

I do know a guy who always seems to be involved with BPD girls. But then he has a number of issues of his own growing up with a BPD mother and a violent alcoholic father.

They're not at all uncommon.

If a woman has the unfortunate combination of good looks and poor mental health, she'll spend her entire adult life bombarded with male attention.

I was just talking about this the other day with a few girlfriends. One of them is in recovery for severe anorexia and said the only downside to getting healthy is that men aren't as interested in her anymore. She's still quite thin and needs to gain some more weight, but when she was emaciated the dudes were banging down her door. This sentiment was echoed by another friend who is in recovery from drug abuse. She is a real inspiration story and has become wildly successful since getting sober, but says that men were much more interested in her when she was out of her mind on speed.

It's a known pattern. The crazier and sicker a woman is, the more men will target her.

The women that chase specifically bad boys are the ones that get off to the feeling of being dominated and to the danger. Men don't really get off to that sort of stuff except as a niche sexual fetish that is generally independent of the rest of the relationship.

The women that do pose a danger to men are the emotionally unstable ones that are likely to make false accusations that ruin your life or key your car cause your mom texted you at 1 AM. The men that go after these women are rare and they generally go after them DESPITE their horrible behavior, not because of it.

There are those men that constantly get involved with hot messes / bpd girls / gold diggers, but there is a more common variant: the man who marries a nagger.

I used to think men with nagging wives kinda fell into that situation, like those women changed after marriage, but seeing the men around me marry that's not true at all. My brother dated a nagging bitch for years and complained about her for the entire lenght of the relationship. Then he broke up with her and within 3 months was dating an even bigger nagger, and married her. And it's not like he didn't have other options. Now he complains about how much his wife nags. And he's not alone. So many guys I know married women that basically treat them like they're a small child. I think they just need that. They'll NEVER admit it, but they need someone to mommy over them, as much as they complain about it.

The difference is men tend to go for "bad girls" who are actually good looking or at least sexually available. Whereas women will go for ugly abusive assholes. This is because men put a greater emphasis on looks, while women go for what they see as social status.

That's why if there's a choice between a frumpy frigid middle aged divorced single mother and smoking hot 18 year old golddigging sexpot, some guys will open up their wallet and say "gimme that golddigger".

I knew a bisexual guy who constantly said he craved a long-term relationship with someone who would love and heal him (he had significant mental health issues), and he kept having one-night stands with bad boys, and dating some crazy girls into alternative fashion who were overly-emotional and histrionic. Not to the extent that I see the female equivalent. Although my social circles arent full of the party types, and most of them are quite apprehensive about those kinds of girls, as theyve heard a fare share of horror stories from relatives and other friends. In fact, most of my friends are pretty conservative when it comes to what women they find appealing for relationships.
