Whenever topics about sexual performance are broached, there seems to be some miscommunication about what goes into making a good sexual partner, and what it takes for a couple to have a harmonious sex life.

When I see posts about mens sexual performance, a lot of the time I see posts like, 'well he should know how to have sex'. I will make the case that she is assuming the man should simply be a natural. Sex with a woman is definitely a skill to be improved upon, which is further muddied by the prevalence of pork maladjusting what sex actually is and the difficulty of actually earning said experience. Furthermore, women have a tendency to act like they're having enjoyable sex regarless of the actual performance, either for the man to save face or to ensure they dont eeceive a negative reaction. All this does is let the man assume that he 'did a good job', and little experience is earned.

I often use the phrase 'women dont care about how the sausage is made, they simply want to enjoy the benefits', but in this case it applies to both genders; men generally want a woman who is a great sex partner, but dont want them to have slept around to gain that experience. While a woman can get a lot of sex sessions in with a couple dedicated partners, having only a couple men to work off of narrows the scope of experience drastically.

I dont think it would ever be a mistake to humanize the opposite gender, and realize what goes into making a good sexual partner. However, there's a huge disparity between how we view sexual partners in a relationship and ones in a casual encounter. While couples should be more than willing to talk about their sexual preferences, casual sex parnters are seen as more or less disposable, especially if they arent great in bed.

What do you think? What were your sexual learning experiences that the other sex might take for granted? Do you think some people have greater expectations than others?
