My ex wife doesn't understand this. She tried to tell our son what kind of girl he should look for, and my son told her what kind of girl he likes (he has a first girlfriend now, which my ex wife doesn't like too much). She was shocked at what my son said. My ex wife looked at me for help to support her position, and I told her what most men want from a woman, and she completely lost it.

What is amazing to me is what my son said, with zero coaching from me. It was something similar to: "If a woman works, how can she take care of her husband, home and family?" My ex had a career before our kid was born, then was a stay at home mom until the divorce, now she's a strong independent woman - of course, not because she took half my wealth, receives alimony and child support (even though we share full joint custody).

I'll spare you the details, but after my ex "lost it" during the above conversation, she started to prove many of the AWALT aspects we discuss here, and our son witnessed them first hand, including her completely twisting my words and stating I said things I never said, to which he replied, "Dad didn't say that!".

What surprised my son is how vindictive his mother was; she said, "you and your father think women should be slaves taking care of you and your homes, go live with your father!"

After my son and I headed back to my place, I said if he wants to live with me he can. The challenge is I travel for work, and he's not old enough to drive; he can walk to school from his mom's house. We discussed many aspects of the "enlightening" display of AWALT behavior from his mother.

It was a good day (it happened yesterday at Thanksgiving dinner), which is one of three days I actually spend any time with my ex: my kids birthday, thanksgiving dinner, and Christmas morning. After this episode, I told my son I won't be having Thanksgiving with his mom next year because of her behavior. His mom is going to show him the true nature of women, AWALT, emotions, illogical thought, vindictiveness, etc. I don't have to do a thing, she'll prove AWALT to my son without him having to even know what AWALT is!

I've taught my son to be independent, critical thinker, taking responsibility for his own life, his goals, beliefs and thoughts, etc. I told him, he has to live his life for himself, not for me or his mom, it's his life. I and his mom will give him advice and help guide him, but ultimately he has to follow his own path and make his own decisions.

Scenario 3 - Yes, She responds TOO positively! Possible romantic relationship (real or perceived). Against company policy and risk to one or both careers is significant. Even if not found out, she now has leverage against you. Outcome = NEGATIVE

Scenario 4 - Yes, and responds as a decent person, but later changes her mind. In the current social climate you're pretty much screwed. Outcome = NEGATIVE

Do you act indifferent?

Only one outcome, as indifference is neither helping nor hindering her position. Outcome = POSITIVE

Do you act hostile?
