To be fair, pregnancy should always require two people signing something together. Maybe not have the government involved but a sort of form that absolves either party if they don't sign.

Woman doesn't want it? She aborts if she decides.

Man doesn't want it? He is absolved of any and all financial burdens but he cannot call himself the father.

This alone would solve a shitload of problems overnight

If a woman can choose to have an abortion within 3 weeks of pregnancy then the guy should have 3 weeks to sign his parental rights away. So if the guy signs the woman can have the baby but can never go after the guy for money or anything pertaining to the baby. It's like a guys way of abortion. It's only fair.

This exactly. Giving women the right to choose and men the responsibility for it has created a big problem - women getting pregnant on purpose for the $$. It's possible for a woman to live comfortably for 18 years if she can manage to somehow get pregnant by a relatively wealthy man. Happens to professional sports players, celebrities, or anyone with money, really. And once conception occurs, the man has no say in it. And not only that, but he can't speak badly about having been tricked into it either because that would hurt the self-esteem of the child and be psychologically damaging to him/her. So he's stuck paying a big fat check for 18 years and maybe doesn't even get to see his child.

Rights and responsibilities need to be equally distributed here between men and women to prevent these kinds of abuses. Men need the right to choose fatherhood, the same as women have the right to choose motherhood. Otherwise it creates a system ripe for abuse. No one talks about this kind of thing because they can't. Father can't complain that they were tricked into fatherhood because it is damaging to the child. But it happens a lot. If women are going to be given a choice and not be forced to be a parent, men need a choice too. Financial abortion. They should be able to walk-away, same as women.

Want to argue that women have to suffer emotional and physical trauma of abortion in order to exercise their right to choose? OK, fine. Assign the man some kind of financial penalty equivalent to the woman's suffering. A year's worth of child support or something. But 18 years of expensive child support for a child you never wanted is a horrible punishment to be inflicted on someone for a one-night mistake, especially if it involved trickery on the part of the woman. Men need right to choose, same as women.

If women were willing to compromise here, throw us a bone, so to speak, and give men the right to choose parenthood similar to what they already have, I would be inclined to support their right to choose, in return. Otherwise, I would be loathe to continue to support theirs.
